OK so West Indies 93/4, trail by 28 runs and Yasir Shah is all over them... Can Pakistan finish this off?

Also Shannon Gabriel has been fined 50% of his match fees... for misbehaving with Sarfaraz Ahmed....

Need to get the next 6 wickets in 100 runs or less.

WI are capable of grinding out a fifth day for a draw, Antigua 2015 vs Eng and Jamaica last year vs India are two examples. Chase, Holder and Dowrich are no mugs with the bat.

However this pitch is offering turn and uneven bounce with cracks present.

First hour is crucial, GOT to start strong and put them under pressure. Hope the weather permits a full day's play.

Cricinfo : Live pictures show a clear, bright day. It is hot and the sun is out. A maximum temperature of 29 degrees Celsius. We should have a full day of cricket. Good

I agree Pakistan have to attack from 1st ball. Today is setting up to be very exciting and if Yasir carries on from yesterday he could be set for a personal best today.

Great stuff from Amir. In this match his out swing and seam has improved considerably from past series, he is bowling them at excellent lengths, that has made him the dangerous bowler he was in 2010. This is not just random stuff, looks like he has work on the bowling going away recently, he was bring the ball in nicely through out last last, but taking it out, makes him lot more potent!!

People talk about Amir not able to bowl outswing/seam seam up, well reality is most if not all bowlers bowl the other swing somewhat scrambled seam most of the time. For instance, whenever Styen bowls inswing its scrambled, same is true for Anderson, one of the swing is scrambled. Asif was cutting the ball with wobble seam, he was able to cut more than others, but not seam up... I also think Wasim's out swing was rarely seam up, people don't realize that since there was no HD back in 90s...

Amir is just taking little long time to setup batsman, Wasim used to take 2/3 overs, he is taking 5/6...Hopefully this time will be cut short within a year or so, as he master those aspects better...

Waqar to Abbas, Do you really have a pace to even try reverse swing?? - Just stick to Misbah's stock bowler's length if you can...Atleast do the holding job

Abbas gets a wicket!! Kept waiting for him to go over the wicket and he strikes as soon as he does it.

Don't think he will be as good but Abbas has similarities to Asif. Asif had ability to bowl in LOI cricket too despite the lack of pace which I don't think Abbas can do but I think he'll do well in Test cricket. Pace is a little overrated in Test IMO.

Holder is their best bat but comes in at 9. I'd move him up to 4, personally.

Now Pakistan fans may not give him full marks because he is only swinging the ball about the width of a bat, but that was:
*outswinger to new batsman
*inswinger to new batsman producing wicket.

That's a decent bit of bowling. With Amir as strike bowler, this guy could be a solid support seamer. Just need an express bowler OR a tall bowler to round them out a a pace group.

Express and Tall..??

Ummmmm....

We should let them reach 180 just to make the game more interesting.

These 2 are arguably the best batsmen in this WI lineup, Pakistan shouldn't get complacent here.

Why Yasir isn't bowling from the other end? He picked up all his 4 wickets from that end.

Haha, I should have specified, that the first priority is that they be a test level bowler. And I like Wahab, he has a big heart and has bowled some entertaining spells- but never enough of them and they never seem to bring a big haul for him. Not quite consistent or skilled enough to be test level imo.

Similar bowlers were Shoaib- who despite his faults was destructive enough, often enough to deserve his accolades.
Another one is Johnson- who was swung it a tiny bit more often, bowled a tiny bit quicker usually, bit the seam just a bit more regularly and could take wickets even when bowling poorly (check Ashes 2005 records where Flintoff's bowling is rightly raved about but Johnson took just as many wickets even bowling pies) which all add up to making him much more effective in the end.

These two look settled, I have a feeling they will have a large partnership.

Holder is their best bat but comes in at 9. I'd move him up to 4, personally.

He can certainly hold a bat. I agree they need a bit more from him, if he is going to be their captain. He's a bit of a Darren Sammy atm, not quite good enough to be in as a bowler but bats too low to make any difference with the bat.

If he bats at 4, 5, 6 then they could get more value from his batting + then play an extra bowler/allrounder depending on conditions.

Day 5 of a Test match, PAK likely to win & only 55 posts in 2 hours - Inzi must have inspired post PPers today for other threads ........

Yup, Inzi has diverted our attention to that poor squad.

The team is doing well and they can't complain about you-know-who, of course it's quiet.

If these guys bat for an hour then they'll all appear.

The real test is with these two - both Chase and Holder have carried their team to safety in the fifth day of a Test before.

Let's not allow them off the hook like we did in 1st inns.

Oh well, Wahab gets a wicket so they'll stay away for a little bit longer :))

Yaar have you seen a Pakistan Test series win in West Indies ?

Let's break the curse first then worry about making the matches interesting.

Still Inzi is the KING today - I knew, he'll bring back Azhar & Umar; but few other names (in both ways - missed or included) leaving a bitter test, even more than my black coffee without cream & sugar.

Unfortunately with the corruption scandal and kami failing it was inevitable..
