What's new

West Indies v Pakistan | 3rd ODI | Providence | April 11, 2017 | Pakistan Innings

Hafeez looking good today. I just have this hunch that he will score a century today

Malik vs Hafeez. Who plays the spin better chapter to be closed today.

Malik plays it better no question. Hafeez used to be a bit better against Malik against pace though.

These two are senior player, chance for them to cement place (when the debate about getting rid of seniors is taking tool)

Need to break this partnership asap. It's only hacks to come after this.

This performance is convincing noone. Even if we win tonight, Pakistan's deficiencies are glaring as we head into the Champions Trophy.

Sarfraz is one of the best in the world against spin.

Who cares if he is a hack? This isn't a Test match.

I don't think Sarfaraz and/or Imad can see Pakistan through if there's still 100+ runs needed when they come in to bat. They can get the job done by slogging if there's 60-70 runs to get.

I used to be a HUGE hater of Malik but he has won me over, over the cross of the last year or so.

Yup. To remind, these two seniors played a 'matchwinning' hand to win a match against Australia when we were chasing a low total. They failed the other four odis because the going was tough

Don't let go so easily. If the alarm bells did not ring basis his performance in Australia, he will certainly re-earn your hate after the CT

And Malik Sarfi chased a 300+ target against England in England, which has probably never been done before

He may flop in the CT, but he has one of the few batsman apart from Babar and Sarf to stand up and perform more often than not. If it was so easy to perform against "minnows" then Shehzad and Kami would have also grabbed the same opportunity presented to them.

Well yes. That settles it then. I mean why look at what happens 2 months ago repeatedly vs what happened once in a very badly lost odi series ten months ago

i am desperatley waitng for hafeez wicket..he sould be dropped ..will be terrible against fast bowling...in CT..pak needs to learn the lesson..

The best thing these two have done so far, which is so unlike Pakistani, is they did not let the required rate jump over 5

pretty good effort by these 2, having had the luck of the non review.

However need this partnership to go deep into the remaining runs.

If history suggest anything, wickets at CT will be belters

he cant score against 130 kph bowler ..take my words he will be utter failure there ......and he will be hit badly while bowling...inzi did a great trick by bringing back this ttf for easy tour though he had an horror show in psl...

dont be amused by his fifty..he is the biggest weak point and manipulator in tthis team...

Well played Hafeez. Good knock in a decider but needs to stay till the end

we loast first odi due to his selfish batting otherwise we will be experimenting with the youngsters in this match..

100 in 22 overs, If we were batting first we would have been looking for 300, It will require an epic collapse to loose this decider from this position

It's because both are very good players of spin ... Our problem starts against genuine pace bowlers and medium fast bowlers in middle overs. That's what teams like Aus, SA, Eng and NZ have.

That's why both Hafeez & Malik struggled to up the run rate in the 4th ODI against Aussies recently after we were in a good position to chase down 356 after 34 overs. Innings came to a grinding halt because they couldn't attack Aussie pacers like they can do to practically any spinner.
