The awful Shan Masood fails once again in Tests. Can only hope he gets dropped for rest of time now...
Someone please get out. I want to see Babar get a maiden hundred.
I am pretty sure we will 110/6 at tea.
Champions trophy will be nightmare.. Shehzad and azhad opening.. I really feel bad for pakistan cricket team fans.
Azhar ali is suspended for one ODI
Pakistan played 3 odis after that..so he is not.
13 overs in to the first mornings play, overcast conditions and we lose our opener to an off spinner.
That tells you everything you need to know about Shan Masood
Its turning miles though...
Azhars only strong suite is his temperament which is allowing him to average 50 in test cricket , talent is overrated.
Its turning miles though...
This Shan Masood keeps making it into the team because of his connections.
Its Imran Farhat situation all over again. Anyone who knows cricket could tell after 10 balls of his batting he is club level.
mate any proper opener would have either left that delivery or used his feet to get to the pitch.
Beautiful batting. Pakistan run rate of 1.71.
but but but that is how you playing test match cricket![]()
Well he is not proper , he is in the team because of his dad
I am going to predict that Babar will score his first Test century in this match.
I will take that any day of the week. Temperament over Talent..
Well, it is Test cricket. Temperament is what gets you scores and Azhar has bags of it. You can out him up there with these modern day greats like Sangakarra and Kallis in terms of temperament.
Oh twaddi, Azhar![]()
If our approach to batting is good, why don't we see the best batsmen in the world tuk tuk at a SR of 30? Why do the likes of Smith, Kohli, Root, Williamson, Amla etc. have s SR of 50 consistently? Even Cook, who is a defensive batsman, rarely bats below a SR of 45.
I think Azhar will go onto break YK 10K test runs record.

Cook is an amazing player, I feel like he's underrated as he's always in the shadow of the players you've mentioned.
Don't you have to be in the squad for the suspension to come into effect?
He's a legendary opener, but underrated because he hasn't succeeded in LOIs cricket. Batsmen who excel in multiple formats are always rated higher.
He is already 33

Babar has real problem with inside edges , tooany angled bat shots outside off.
He's still in ODI mode but these experiences should help him greatly, more exposure at the Test level will do him a world of good. The man is sound technically, just needs to settle down and get his eye in before picking his moments; his intent is refreshing but has been his downfall in recent times but it is something which can be rectified
32 years
In the next two years we are playing only 16 matches. That is a maximum of 32 innings. If Azhar Ali bats at his batting average of 46 then he will score roughly 1500 runs. He is about 4900 right now. So at the age of 34 he will have 6400 runs. With 3600 to get to be close to YK. That means he would have to play approximately a further 4 years after the age of 34 to break YK's record. How many Pakistani cricketers before YK and Misbah have played till the age of 38? There is generally a sharp decline in form after age 34-35 and then a string of bad series means permanent expulsion from the squad.
No real winner of the first session so far.
Its a mindset Misbah has deeply instilled in the team during his tenure, even though his farewell will go a long way to rectify or completely eradicate this poor approach but doubt it'll happen anytime soon 'cause we've his proteges in the form of AA and AS to take his tuk-tuk culture forward.
Australia's run rate in the Windies this decade is below 3 runs an over.
Brendon McCullum's New Zealand batted slower than 3 runs an over.
England batted at 3.30 RPO but that series was mostly played on different wickets to this series. In the test they played in Bridgetown, where this current test is being played, England were bowled out for 257 in 96.3 overs (2.66 RPO) and 123 in 42.1 overs (2.91 RPO).
India's run rate in the Windies this decade is 3.11 RPO but in the one test they played in Bridgetown guess what happened to that modern run rate? 201 all out in 68 overs (2.95 RPO) and 269/6 in 102 overs (2.63 RPO while setting up a declaration!). In Kingston, where the first test of this series was played, India took 171.1 overs to score 500. That's 2.92 RPO, to score five hundred after bowling the Windies out for 196!
Saffers went at exactly 3 RPO. Who wants to bet if they scored slower or quicker than 3 RPO in Bridgetown? If you guessed slower then congratulations, you get a high five from me! 346 in 134.4 overs. (2.56 RPO)
Lol that's twice Bishop has burnt Bazid. Hilarious exchange.
what did they say
