narine is getting hit by both of them . :p very very rash shot but he missed.... play like a middle ordewr batsmen... chill and relax afridi just relax...

Cricinfo:

Darshil Shastri: "Misbha heard that Ian Bell scored very slowly in Ashes yesterday.. he feels his reputation is in danger.."

Afridi provides not only value for the money but also keeps the opposition in check and breathes confidence in his own team. Misbah and Hafeez do the total opposite.

More crowd thn i have seen in triangular series...

Pakistan bowling attack now can never defend 200. Not because of ability. It's just Misbah's crappy captaincy. We need 230 minimum these days as Misbah thinks you can defend 200 ish by being economical when wickets are the only way. i can guarantee if we get something to bowl at , ie, 200, After the PP, he'll have all 4 fielders out and the rest on the edge of circle with no close catchers. we need aggressive captain

Got to feel for narine the current #1 in ODI ranking...

Look at Misbah, he gets into the reverse sweep mode before Narine starts his bowling runup.

well the next fifty came a hundred strike rate.... we still have 20 overs so if these two are their then we can reach 200.

People may not have articulated the problem with Misbah, Let me give it a try:

Technique flaws:
Misbah's fundamental problem is that he does not have shots. If you look at his batting 90% of the time he blocks the ball, mostly right in the pitch or not more than 10-15 yards near the pitch. He does it intently since he does not have shots on the front of back foot. Like drives, nugh around the ball, pull and cut. He seldomly plays those shot. He also does not have the foot work to play those shots either. When you compare him with past main batsmen of Pakistan team (Inzi, Yousaf, Younis), they all have shots in their arsenal. Those were the exact reasons he was never selected ahead of Inzi, Yousaf, Younis in early part of his career.
His scoring shots are mostly slodge, he does block block or go bang bang... When he tries to play checky shots, mostly he gets out...

Spreading out Misbahism is a hugh strategic mistake
He is not a good role model for main batsmen in the team. You need an alround player to be main batsmen. Who can rotate the strike and has a foot work. Not having a foot work is a fundamental flaw... You cannot build a team around such a batsman.

Building team around past rejects
We are building team around past rejects (Misbah,Gul and Hafeez). They were into the team because we lost two great bowlers and PCB did not manage two great batsmen (Yousaf and Younis) the way they should have. Ideally Pakistan should have being building team around those four player (Younis, Yousaf, Amir and Asif) back in 2007/8 but we end where we are... without experience players its very difficult to built the batting line up, this is something PCB did not understand and let go Younis, Yousaf so easily, they rather bet on Afridi and Razzaq... There is no comparison between the skill and importance of Younis, Yousaf Vs Afridi, Razzaq...
Now Misbah is trying to create more Misbahs as batsmen... In the shadow of Inzi and Saeed Anwar we got Yousaf and Younis... What we are going to get in the shadow of Misbah is terrifying, we are already seeing the effects of that...
His deputy Hafeez is another one of those allrounders bet by Pakistan, which does not go any where. We have not learned any thing from past bits and pieces allrounders as well. Why not invest in Azhar Ali to be next Captain? - Who atleast has skill to face the quality bowling.
Why Younis Khan is completely sidline? - I think PCB made the biggest mistake of removing Younis from Captaincy back in 2008/9 time. He was an excellent Captain, could have helped rebuild the team and we may had avoided 2010 disaster

I just noticed the tuk sound from afridi bat is far better thn the tuk from misbah bat...

Classic pepsi ad :)))
maybe misbah should consider a career in acting and leave cricket forever

Afridi is looking really good today.

But that prolly means we cant count on him for the rest of 04 matches.

32 runs conceded by narine in 3 overs...2.5 times more thn Jason conceded in his 10 overs...Jason conceded 13 in 10 overs...

Afridi batting like he should have for the past 17 years.
Using his grey matter for once.

Afridi always plays a good innings in the first match of his come back. Has done it three times already this year!

Thank u for echoing my sentiments

if pak make 220 this game is theres no way WI can play ajmal and hafeez on this pitch

Now misbah please don't repeat what u did SA while chasing...Afridi can handle that you just rotate the strike...

Commentators are right, Misbah acting like he is a bowler on the other end, just giving most of the strike to Afridi. Should be a balanced attack.

This should be Misbah's last tour as captain- don't care if we have to lose 5-0 for that

This was my same opinion from SA tour onwards...:(But............. Then I hoped at least Failure in CT would make Changes.... Still nothing happened....... But this time around new Selectors, new Chairman... I hope This Tour Might be the right time........:)

Could someone please let me know why Junaid is not playing?
