What can Pakistan learn from the Indian education system?

No country should try to learn anything from India. Indian data are often manipulated/faked and they lie and cheat a lot. :inti

Better to learn from China, Japan, South Korea, western countries etc.

Water Flung At Senior Historian Irfan Habib In DU Arts Faculty Ambush During Speech

Senior historian Irfan Habib was targeted with a water bucket during a speech at DU's Arts Faculty. The incident has triggered a campus face-off between AISA, which had organised the event at which Habib was speaking, and ABVP.

Senior historian S Irfan Habib was targeted during a Delhi University event on Thursday when some unidentified individuals flung a bucket of water at him. Habib was delivering a speech during the People's Literature Festival: Samta Utsav at the Arts Faculty when the incident happened. Videos circulating online show Habib speaking when a blue bucket filled with water is hurled at him from behind. The senior historian is momentarily taken aback by the sudden act, but after a brief pause, continues with his address.
The event was organised by Left-affiliated All India Students' Association (AISA) parallel to the university's official literature festival that opened the same day. Several academics were present at the gathering when the water was thrown.

Habib had been speaking for nearly 20 minutes before the disruption. Recalling the moment, he said, "I was invited to speak by the students. Some 200 students had gathered. I had just begun my address and spoken for about 20 minutes when suddenly water from a bucket was thrown from a wall behind me. For a few seconds I was unsettled, but then I continued. It is disturbing and shocking for me. Universities are places for diverse voices which should be respected."

Clips of the incident quickly circulated on social media, triggering a political blame game on campus.

AISA alleged that members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) were responsible for the act. The ABVP, however, denied any role, calling it "a deliberate attempt to malign the organisation". Its Delhi state secretary Sarthak Sharma called the allegations "completely baseless and false" and accused Left groups of "spreading misinformation".

AISA Event In Protest Against Official DU Event

AISA said it had organised the parallel festival in protest, calling the official event "a platform for regressive propaganda and communal rhetoric". Sessions at the alternative festival included discussions on "Caste in Society and University" and "Anti-Caste Poetry and Songs", along with a call for implementing the proposed UGC Equity Regulations, 2026.
During his speech, Habib spoke about what he called "attempts at historical erasure", and stated that universities must resist distorted interpretations of the past.

In Lucknow, School Suspends Students For Eating 'Too Much Chowmein'

When the school principal learned about the incident, the administration announced a two-day suspension for the students.

Lucknow:
When a group of students in Uttar Pradesh helped themselves to chow mein at a school farewell party, being suspended for eating it “too many times” was probably the last thing they expected. The incident took place at St. Mary's School in the Chinhat area during the Class 10 farewell event. According to students, some Class 9 students went to the food counter and took chow mein three or four times.

Suspension Announced Through WhatsApp Voice Note

When the school principal learned about the incident, the administration announced a two-day suspension for the students. The decision was communicated through a voice note shared on the school's official WhatsApp group. "This message is for the students who were creating a ruckus at the chow mein counter. Those who ate it 3-4 times, even using their hands, are suspended for two days," the voice note said. The message stated that the students would be informed via the same group whether they should return to school after the suspension period.

Students Claim They Were Sent Back From School

The following day, when the students arrived at school as usual, they alleged that the principal sent them back home. Some students claimed they were chased away with a stick. After returning home, the children informed their families about the incident. The matter soon drew protests from family members, although no parent has publicly commented on the issue so far.

After the incident gained wider attention, the school administration asked the students to return to school. Responding to the controversy, the school said that such behaviour had not occurred in the institution over the past 25 years. The administration claimed the students had misbehaved at the food counter and described the suspension as a disciplinary action.

A Class 10 student allegedly punched a teacher during an argument at a government school in Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna district, with a video of the incident going viral on social media.

A Class 10 student at a government high school allegedly attacked a teacher in the classroom during an argument in Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna district. The incident, which took place at Veeravalli Zilla Parishad High School in Bapulapadu mandal, was captured on camera. As per a report by NDTV, the incident took place when the teacher reportedly reprimanded the student during school hours - turning a routine warning into a heated scuffle.
During the argument, the student can be seen punching the teacher, causing panic among students and staff at the classroom. The incident came to light after a video of the the moment surfaced on social media and went viral. he video also shows the student confronting the teacher before the physical assault.

Sources as cited by a NDTV report said the student later claimed he reacted after the teacher allegedly used abusive language about his mother during the argument. School authorities reported the incident to the education department and the police, which summoned the student, who is a minor, for questioning and counselling.

The incident comes days after a class 12 student allegedly attacked and harassed a female teacher in Uttar Pradesh's Mainpuri, sending shockwaves across the city. The incident happened in broad daylight when the teenager brutally attacked and cut her lips off, leaving her bleeding on the street. The boy reportedly also tried to force himself on the school teacher before attacking her with a sharp-edged weapon.
After the incident, an FIR had been lodged based on the complaint given by the teacher. The accused immediately fled the scene after attacking the teacher. The police had began the manhunt to nab the student, saying that this is not the first time he harassed the teacher, as he was involved in such activities in the past too.

Expelled Over Teachers' Meme, Court Allows Student To Take Class 10 Exam

The top court asked the school and CISCE to ensure that the boy is able to appear in the ensuing examination, scheduled to commence from February 17.

The Supreme Court on Friday allowed a minor boy, rusticated from a school in Indore for allegedly circulating an objectionable meme concerning teachers, to appear in the Class 10 examination and directed the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) to issue an admit card.

A bench of Justices B V Nagarathna and Ujjal Bhuyan noted that the boy has already registered with the CISCE to take the examination and if not allowed, he would lose an academic year.

"In the circumstances, we direct the CISCE to permit the petitioner's son to take the examination by issuing Admit Card/Hall ticket. Having regard to the nature of the controversy, respondent no. 5 (school) is at liberty to permit the petitioner's son to appear and write the examination in a separate room and not with other students.

"Further, respondent no.5/School to conduct an internal assessment for Physical Education and Socially Useful Productive Work (SUPW) at the school and submit the assessment marks to respondent no.6/CISCE," the bench said.

The top court asked the school and CISCE to ensure that the boy is able to appear in the ensuing examination, scheduled to commence from February 17.

During the hearing, the bench observed orally, "Instead of reforming him, you (school) have decided to rusticate him and dissociate yourself from him. As a school, you should have taken the responsibility to reform the child but you rusticated him just because you said he was a bad boy." Advocate Nipun Saxena, who appeared for the petitioner, submitted that if the court does not permit the boy to take the examination, then he would lose an academic year.

He submitted that the rustication of the boy from the school was a disproportionate punishment and instead of taking reformatory steps, the school simply disassociated him from the school.

Saxena told the court that the boy has been pursuing his studies privately at home with the help of tutors.

The counsel appearing for the school vehemently objected to any permission being granted to the boy to take the examination as he cannot be pardoned for what he has committed.

He said the school was constrained to rusticate the boy due to his act and any order permitting him to take the examination would demoralise the school authorities.

The top court had earlier issued notice on the petition challenging an order of November last year of the Madhya Pradesh High Court which upheld the school's decision to terminate the 13-year-old student in the midst of his Class 9 academic session of 2024-2025.

The bench had observed that minors generally learn such behaviour from their surroundings and memes having communal overtones should not be encouraged.

The plea said the action has caused grave prejudice to the petitioner's son as it effectively renders it extremely difficult for him to continue his education up to Class 10 at the school.

It said registration for Class 10 is ordinarily completed during Class 9 itself according to the extant bylaws of the ICSE Board.

"The impugned decision has, therefore, severely jeopardised the continuity and stability of the petitioner's son's education," the plea said.

It alleged that the entire hoax of "protecting the reputation" of the school was a red herring, since the Instagram account was not accessible either to the public or to the school administration.

"Imposition of harsh penalties such as expulsion/rustication to a child for creating an Instagram private account with memes that are not even attributable to the child and to invoke the criminal law principle of 'deterrence' is antithetical to the established cannons of law," the plea said.

The petitioner had approached the high court against the school's decision to terminate his son last year.
