What do you want me to tell you? To watch more movies? Just like I tell the rest of the Shawshank redemption fanboys? The bickering isn't worth it.

Papillon? Seen it? Heard about it? I highly recommend it waisay.

Saw Love in the time of cholera yesterday - based on a book by, late Colombian Nobel Laureate, Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

Similarities between 19th century Colombian and continuing Indian Sub-continental culture. It could have been a Bollywoodian, thankfully it was better. Javier Bardem very different from his role as the assassin in 'No Country for Old Men'.

American History X is fantastic. I have downloaded "The Man Who Would Be King" for the weekend. Let's see how it turns out!

Brilliant movie? Funny yes, entertaining yes but brilliant??? If you like a hero killing 50+ bad guys then it is okay. But if you also want stupid action movie then it is much better as it has a lot more to offer like carrots and shooting bullets from the hand. I enjoyed it

Dont laugh or anything but Shrek is one of my all time Favourites.

I just finished watching My Left Foot: The Story of Christy Brown with Daniel Day Lewis.

That was an AWESOME performance from Daniel Day Lewis. Its a shame he doesnt make that many films because he is superb

Saw Never Back down today. Was enjoyable enough for what it was, although I definitely would have had a better movie experience than most of the others I went with. Most of the people for some retarded reason saw Superhero movie. There were a few who were smart enough to realise it would be a shocker and not to waste their money on that. Never Back Down wasnt amazing but it was alright and had its momements

Saw the first Die Hard and Stargate last night. Die Hard came out when gas price was 74 cents a gallon and now it is $3.70 a gallon

What if you thought Kill Bill was one of the worst movies ever?

The Truman Show....love the movie and gained more respect for Jim carey. Loved the music in the movie too.

Watched 21 today...... pretty decent effort - given that it was semi-true story!

watched "Kiss Me Again" yesterday and then had to watch "John Rambo" today to get my testosterone level up :)....... both are recommended by the way. Though Kiss me again might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Watched The Shawshank Redemption, seen it before, but was on TV last night and it is top movie, great acting by Morgan Freeman

Harold and Kumar - Escape from Guantanamo Bay

meant to be a new release this year.. not seen it, but another teen flick.. sounds like a laugh

name me another stoner comedy where the underlying social commentary is about racial prejudice.

love harold and kumar

out in the states on 25th april

Harold & Kumar was a great laugh. Hoping that the new one would also be as good as the first one.

I saw "The Man from Earth". Certainly an interesting story. I would like to hear from others who saw it. Can't talk much about it as the whole movie would be a spoiler.

The original Harold and Kumor was an epic .. an absolutely legendary movie !

It was like the Thelma and Louise for Asian males.

i don't think weed was the main theme of the movie ... it was more so the challenges that asian guys face here in america.

Traffic - very good movie about drugs. May have been nominated for best picture 2-3 years ago

Harold and Kumar was rubbish BUT i guess thats cos i dont and have never smoked weed

hehe.. you dont need to be a pothead to enjoy that flick.. its about prejudices against Asians in US.. its unfortunate that only prejudices against blacks are regarded as racism, no one cares about racism against indians, pakistanis, middle easterners, koreans, chinese, south-east asians.

Infact, my Chinese friend who tried to play basketball with some black people got called racially abused as ch&*ky

not just asian guys but other minorities too - jews and blacks too.

like i said above the underlying message was about stereotypes, racism and misconceptions of different people in the states (or in the west).

Here you see ethnic minorities lead characters - Harold and Kumar played characters if they were white characters would be considered normal potheads.

But here you have the normal sterotypes challenged and a lot of ethnic americans related to these characters as they felt they were more like them rather than the sterotypes - movies normally portrayed.

Like in this film

indians=doctors - kumar's relatives
orientals = business orientated - princeton korean nerd club

This was a clever comedy- being stoned was only part of it.

Not sure if they will delve much into how muslims are treated in the second film as it is a raw subject.

Harold and Cumar was a funny movie. Not the best and it did get boring for a bit in the middle but it was funny. I am not even a funny guy and I liked it. You don't have to disect the movie to enjoy it because if you do then you are wasting time. Just go with the moment. I think even Beerfest (rated R) was okay

Anyone seen ICHI THE KILLER ?

You will get a new definition of the BEAST after watching that one :))

There will be blood is a fantastic movie and once again daniel day lewis has proven himself to be the king of hollywood after his epic role as the butcher in the Gangs of New York.Another excellent movie to watch is The Great Debaters directed by Denzel washington

I tried, just didnt do it for me

Also you dont have to be a funny guy to find a film funny

anyone seen a 2002 movie called EMPIRE... it has fat joe and treach in it..

'scarface of the future' it has written on the cover! lol soudns good but it might just be hype

if anyones seen it let me know.. i have a chance of borrowing it but from the cover, it looked a bit crappy and cheesey

The last time I saw Harold and Kumar, I had come home from playing indoor footy and found my cousin watching it while on the sticky. I did enjoy it though - the stoner jokes were funny enough even though I dont smoke pot either.

it makes a difference from watch the world being blown up in 50 seconds.. or terrorist movies, and complicated twists and turns

I didn't really like harold and kumar. It looked like another scary movie/date movie kind of thing. Weed and stoner jokes are usually all the same.

But i recently saw super bad, it's definitely the funniest movie ive seen this year. The characters are hilarious, especially McLovin and the cops.

1) Aren't they reinforcing stereotypes by showing kumar's relatives as doctors etc?
2) Is it a good thing to show that Indians aren't just doctors, they can smoke pot too?

Came to know from my family in India that "Khuda ke liye" is the first pakistani movie released in India and they liked it. So I saw it online yesterday.

At some scenes the acting was little bot raw but over all enjoyed it. Hope to see some more good ones coming in near future.

1) no , they were pointing out different stereotypes in the film ..contrasting it with the lead characters who also being from the same background -kumar being a med student and harold working for an investment bank - but also showing that were no different than the average (white) american of having a life outside their jobs.

Normally, films would portray ethnic people as caricatures of their race/background. Doctors , nerds, working in shops, garages and restaurants.

2) Of course it isn't morally, lawfully and physically right to be stoned - this film was written by white americans targeting white americans and challenging their view of ethnic people in the states as being like them - having weaknesses. Thye can have other careers too. Getting high is not the main message of the comedy - hence its a comedy.

The last film I watched was One Missed Call, it was pretty gud and it was a remake of a Japanese movie

I watched I am Legend the other day.

Disappointing to say the least, I was expecting a lot more.

"Soft" ending and Will Smiths obsession with his dog was very unhealthy.

21; I loved it. Ended up watching it twice.

One Missed Call was absolutely horrendous

Bought it yesterday. Will watch it sometime this week. I saw a picture of a mutant/zombie on the case so I didn't watch it last night :batman:

Instead I saw Mr Brooks (Kevin Costner but didn't finish it yet), Next (Nicholas Cage) and Heartbreak Kid (Ben Stiller).
None recomended and the last one not a family movie

Saw Iron Man today. His suit was incredible. Probably the best part of the movie. It was pretty solid itself - enjoyed it more than the Spiderman series but thats probably cause I was very biased against that. Tony Stark had plenty of amusing one liners but there were quite a few other pretty amusing moments. Some of the stuff Iron Man did was quite cool - the selective targeting of the terrorists when confronted with live hostages for example as well as the scene with the F22s

I am glad you liked it. I had been turned off by all the hype. I will plan to see it though, perhaps today or some other time during the weekend.

I think tashan is kind of north india slang for "style".

e.g. Kya tashan hai?

not very sure though. Some one can correct me.

The word sounds Armenian or Farsi to me actually..

The description of it on GEO is great.
Superman, Spiderman aur Batman kay baad aiya hey "Fauladi Insaan" yaani "Iron Man" :D

Saw Iron Man and I was blown away. I was really surprised by how good it was. I would recommend it to everyone.

Watched Iron Man yesterday.. loads of fun.. the suit is indeed worth all that hype.. the whole flick is so damm cool w/o pretending to be such.

Ironman full with entertainment. If you into marvel characters and enjoy these kinda movies, you will love it. Money well spent.

Iron Man- terrific stuff. Loved the suit, good story and good one-liners from Downey.
