It's all those pills he's popping. Was the movie any good? Who is he fighting this time?

yeah but u dont magically get huge, u have to work out really hard. To work out at his age + be bigger htan he ever was = more than jsut some anabolic steroids.

He's fighting Burmanese dictators.

Sweeney Todd = No. 1 Movie of 2008 so far...I loved it..the acting as well as the storyline, plus it moved at a nice pace

Watched National Treasure 2 this morning. Too predictable as I watched the first one on TV again a few weeks ago.

Still a good plot : 2 guys after the same Treasure and a pretty girl is also involved. Reminds me of Indiana Jones movies when I was a kid. :19:

The missus and I watched a chick flick called 27 Dresses. Not too bad. Theme about the bridesmaid addict, the newspaper writer about weddings and a love triangle.

Interesting plot, but predicatable. (I have seen too many chick flicks). Features Katherine Hiegl i.e. the red-head actress who is on Grays Anatomy and was lead role of Knocked Up.

The missus got excited about the movie and played around on it's website ... so here is a pic of my wife in a dress ...

I am legend, finally

It was quality; loved it.

Was meant to watch Sweeny Todd on Friday but didnt work out

Saw 3:10 to Yuma today. Enjoyed it although the ending was a bit much on the Hollywood side, but thats what you'd expect really.

Cloverfield...superb. Must be watched on the big screen, a great cinematic experience.

No Country for Old Men

Javier Bardem's Chigurh is probably the most menacing movie villain ever; that haircut and voice, sure creeped me out. Tommy Lee Jones is, well, Tommy Lee Jones, excellent. Worth a watch, twice, to understand that Texan drawl!

i just finished watching it... wow!

hoping to complete the perfect follow up with either atonment or there will be blood...

Probably shouldnt be mentioning it, but I saw "27 Dresses" a little while ago, definitely against my better judgment. I suppose I had reasons to but unlike the 2 other guys at the movie, I wasnt even able to fall asleep (but then again they slept during 3:10 to Yuma) and Im a borderline insomniac so I was unfortunate enough to see it all. :31:

Mission Impossible 2

Thandie Newton - wow .. she's an absolutely stunning woman.

Hans Zimmer once again provides some amazing music (he's also done the scores for Gladiator and The Da Vinci Code)

OK I have seen a few movies recently. I saw The Assasination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford. I think this movie was excellent. It was very long and the first half of it was kind of slow and boring but then halfway through the movie changes a lot and you are just waiting to see how he is going to do it. Great movie I think and brilliant acting. I think Casey Afleck should win best supporting actor.

I also saw Charlie Wilson's war. This was a good educational movie to tell you what really happened in Afghanistan and how the Americans abandoned them in the end. It was interesting to see how things work behind the scenes in covert operations. I was not too impressed with the attempt at humor in the film but I guess it was better then making a serious documentary type movie or a hero obsessed plot to make it look glorious or something. I think the movie did not have much other choice then to be like it is right now..

I watched this new indian flick "Sunday" and though it was pretty okay. If you liked comedies like Golmaal and Welcome , you are bound to enjoy this one as well.

I watched Mr Brooks last night. It has Demi Moore and Kevin Costner in it. Its about a serial killer who wants to stop but his alter ego wont let him.

Not bad, not great - 6/10 in my opinion.

Saw a comedy called Good Luck Chuck. Give it a 7.5. About a guy who is doomed in his own relationships, but his ex's marry the next guy. So when the right girl comes along for him he doesn't want to go to first base.

Also watched a teenager comedy called Charlie Bartlett. Give it a 7. About the kid who sets up a pharmacy in the school loo and tries to sort out every other kids problems. The kid is in love with the principal's daughter etc. etc.

Cloverfield, it was great!

(must be seen on a huge screen in a pitch black theater for the best experience possible)

I skipped watching Barney today ... maybe next week. :)))

I also saw I think I love my wife, its a "fun" movie.. good to watch when you just want to sit back, relax, and laugh. I enjoyed it..

Over the past week I've seen American Gangster and The Kite runner
American Gangster was good as expected. Enjoyed it although the middle parts did get a bit long and tedious at times. Not quite as good as say Scarface which it has been compared to.

The Kite runner was better than I thought. Everyone whos read the book has high praise for it but I havent read it. The movie was pretty moving though
The movie?
would like to watch it.

last movie i watched was last week.saw 4.man was it disgusting.but thats the best thing about the movies

Yeah, it was excellent. One of my cousins cried during it and so were quite a few others at the show they went to.

Has anyone seen "There will be blood"? Only recently saw its IMDB profile, and while its still new so it can only go down, it has a ridiculously high rating of 8.9. If I knew it was getting such rave reviews, I would have refused to see 27 dresses and saw this instead. Oh well, putting them through the throat ripping scene from the new Rambo movie should go some way in making up for that

The Brave One- Jodie Foster proves yet again that she is the best actress in Hollywood.

^ lol i jsut finished watching that aswell. it was a great movie. 9/10

watched the latest rambo the other day. it was a total waste of time. worst acting i have ever seen in my life. 2/10

I have been a huge fan of Jodie since I saw "The Accused", if you are a kind of person who likes to see the scope of acting in movies, then you would like all Jodie Foster movies. She was brilliant in "Inside Man" as well.

National Treasure II, not special but then nothing is after No Country for Old Men. Reckon that and Daniel Day Lewis's movie will share the Oscar loot. Bardem for Oscar, it's that menacing hair style and chilling voice, scary!

I was watching Bhool Buliyan last night. I've watched half of it so far and its not too bad.

btw dont tell me what happens in the second half of the fim and ruin it for me :)

Well Saj, the second part goes like this:.............

........ ******************.......... Okay okay, won´t ruin it for you :D .

"Falling Down" (1993). Best Michael Douglas performance along with his performance in "Wall Street" (for which he won an Oscar), in my opinion.

Saw "There will be blood". Before watching it I was a little surprised that it wasnt in all the mainstream cinemas and was mainly playing in the artsy ones. Although after watching it, I could understand the reasoning.

Was very long, nearly 3 hours and most of it was fairly boring. Not necessarily a bad boring cause Danial Day-Lewis' acting and his character in general was very good, just that the majority of the movie just seemed a little dull. The only reason I agreed to see it was because his character was meant to be one of the most evil and psychotic seen in a few years, and I would certainly agree once I saw it all. During most of it, there were moments where he showed his evilness, although they were quite spread out. The last 2 scenes however were both chilling and hilarious in a twisted sort of way, both acted out incredibly. There were parts of the movie though that were very clever. Did an excellent job in showing the birth of modern capitalism and there were quite a few parallels with some stuff that has happened more recently

Today I watched this newly released Indian flick " Mithya ." If you liked " No Smoking " and " Bheja Fry " , then this one is definitely for you. The best bollywood movie of the year till now. A must watch !!

saw Eastern Promises on Sunday. Not bad. It is from the maker of History of Violence and also stars Viggo. It is violent - some knife/blade action here and there

we watched Wrong Turn 2. Pretty good I thought, but not as good as the first one.

I dont think I have ever seen a film with so much blood in it

i would say that best supporting actor will go to Casey Afleck for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. It will be close but I think where as Javier Bardem was one dimensional and psychotic, Casey should many sides to his character and was amazing IMO.

I saw it. It was alright, not that great. It tried to be insightful but lacked any emotional attachment to anything. No real point to watch that movie.

Very well made movie, typical Spielberg stuff

I thought it was the worst Spielberg movie. I hated War of the worlds but at least it had some artistic value.

LOL no. Ok I guess I need to rethink my position on Munich. I will tell you the reasons why I did not like it and then I will tell you why I liked American Gangster.

Munich: This movie was emotionally detaching as basically all they did was a bunch of guys together and killed people who were bad. The villains had been painted as very one-dimensional. It did not debate their crime and whether they were guilty, they just showed the Musad agents get together and then go out and kill the people and the only emotion they showed was how these people felt about killing them nothing about the guilt or emotions of the enemies. There was one scene when they met an Arab terrorist group and had some dialog but any epiphany that was supposed to portray was very week. I expected something better from Spielberg. When you compare this movie with Schindler's List, the difference is staggering. Schindler's List stood for something profound and it was as clear as day to see. Munich is unclear about what it stands for. In the end, watching that movie was a waste of time. If someone told me it is about a bunch of people who go and kill people involved in the Munich Olympics killings, then that would have been all I needed to know and the movie would not have given anything more. It was disappointing as I am a big fan of Eric Bana.

American Gangster: I liked this movie because it was kind of like the Godfather, Scarface, Catch me If you Can rolled into one. It is true that it lacks the cult standard of Scarface and Godfather but that is the bad thing about all gangster movies as they will be compared to them and the comparison is impossible to make as those are very great movies. AG had very good acting, good chemistry between the stars, when Denzel and Crowe met, it was the most exciting part of the whole movie and the tension was very real in the film. It was an excellent story about how one guy came from no where and got so much. It was also a story about adversaries, chasing each other and not just focussed on one person and one sided view (compare to Munich) This gave more sides to each of the characters and gave them more depth. I loved the scenes in Vietnam, it reminded me of movies like Apocalypse Now. The direction was really good and the tone of the film was almost like it was shot in the 70s and not today. The main thing going for it is the acting. I would not say that it is the best movie of the year or anything like that, but it was a good movie to watch.

I only saw the first half of the movie and it looked okay then I went to sleep. Now there are movies which are good and you can watch them again once or twice. Then there are movies which are okay (or maybe even bad) but you can watch them 10 times because they entertain you. Then there are movies which are just bad which you have problem lasting the first time so no question about watching it again. And then there are movies which are ok to good but you cannot watch them again. So for me Munich came in the last category and I had chances to watch it again but didn't, but I probably will watch it again now as it has been a long time now since I saw it first.

It just depends on the taste and your mood.

Saw John Rambo today. Very enjoyable. Im usually a big fan of mindless action flicks so the key was to turn a blind eye to the message they were trying to push and dont worry about minor details such as the fact that there were absolutely no cases of friendly fire despite the indiscriminant machine gun and mortar fire in the brutal climax. The movie wasnt very long at all so it didnt drag on, and once the violence starts, it just keeps getting more and more brutal. Ultimate guy flick

watched rambo at cinema same day as downloaded dvd...

film was one big mission (like in a FPS game)...

Loved it - mate said it was too violent... true - but thats what war is!

we watched the Brave One yesterday starring Jodie Foster. It was ok, a little bit OTT and far fetched - 5/10

Going to watch Daddy Day Camp with the kids now :)

Daddy Day Care it is. hilarious movie :19:

Rambo....Bloody awesome action movie! Sly has pulled it off.

Jodhaa Akbar. A fantastic film :) .

Saw Shoot 'em Up last night. If you want to see the bad guys kill two people, one of them was accidental, and the hero Clive Owen shoot 50+ and also kill 2-3 with a carrot (yes the bunny eating thing) then you will love it. Some of the things the hero does to kill people probably include all of Hollywood and Bollywood stunts.

What about the final shooting bullets from the fireplace scene? This movie was way over the top but I really liked it. Movies that go over the top but still take themselves seriously are bad but those who laugh at themselves are funny.

It was a fun movie to watch, but it might have been because I saw it while waiting in line out in the cold on an iPod.

at sometime I just thought of it as comedy. the fireplace scene was classic and unexpected. I was expecting him to throw a burning firelog somehow. I would have only thought desi media to think of that.

Plus right at the end when he is at the diner and he throws a carrot that gets in the whole of the gun where the trigger is to shoot people was just :)) :)) (at that time his fingers are broken so can't use the gun in normal way)

I saw vantage point. It was an OK movie, not that great. I was put off by the constant restart they had when they would rewind and show the event from someone else's views. It gets boring after a while. The movie was too mechanical and tried to make a lot more out of what otherwise would have been a 20 minute climax scene in any other movie. Despite all the restarts, it was still very short.

This movie tried to be like memento but could not do that. I would rate this movie as 5/10

I also saw Rambo, which is the goriest movie I have ever scene. This movie is not for the fainthearted. There are so many killings, especially the children which is very horrifying.

overlooking that aspect of it, Rambo wasn't that great in the movie either. All he basically did was kill a bunch of people with some arrows and towards the end kill an entire army using a truck-mounted heavy machine gun. There was one really badass part though when he ripped out someone's jugular with his bare hands.

I would say that overall this movie is a 2/10.

We watched Michael Clayton last night. It was a mistake as I was very tired and was falling asleep and its a film that you have to watch carefully to understand what is going on.

The bits I saw were very good though although I wouldnt mind watching it again.

Wrong Turn 2...really poor acting. Not better than the first.

Ye it was quite gruesome, but did'nt have the same effect as the first movie. Maybe because it is mainly set in daylight.

p.s, you need to watch Rambo 4, the most violent film I have ever seen.

Finally watched 'Khuda ke Liye'.

Impressive effort from all concerned, and a movie that will invoke discussion.
