Watched Bollywood film 'Jab We Met'. It wasn´t a great film, as expected, but was highly entertaining and not boring at all like 'Borewariya'.... oh..... I mean 'Saawariya'. The first part was very funny. The film was actually about enjoying your life.

By the way, any other Bollywood film impatiently awaited????

Lions for Lambs - excellent movie, directed by Robert Redford

He stars as a political science professor, Tom Cruise a slimey US Senator trying to sell to journalist, played by Meryl Streep, a foray into Iran. Compelling viewing.
Have been meaning to watch this, have been slightly put off by IMDB's user average review. Probably government/government-sympathisers flooding them. Glad to hear you like it :)

Just came back from the screeing of this new indian movie " Goal " ....
What can i say i just loved the film.... it's definitely an 8.5/10 movie... A must watch!!

March of the Penguins - very over-hyped film .. seen much better nature documentaries on TV.

True, and it's only because Morgan Freeman was narrating. Attenborough churns these out all the time, but he doesn't have that soothing movie-familiarity. If you're interested in wildlife documentaries - check out the 2 DVD boxsets 'Blue Planet' and 'Planet Earth' - both should be on Amazon. Absolutely astounding and a must buy.

I watched Grizzly Man....a moving documentary about Timothy Treadwell, who was killed by a bear whilst living amongst them in Alaska- a must watch.

good choice. I found the guy a bit mental. Nevertheless I would have loved to have lived like him

Has anyone seen American Gangster - and if so is it any good?

Oceans 13
No contract or something...cith zeta jones...

it doesn't look that good, i have tried to avoid it.

and other movies i have avoided, turned out to be flops.

Mrs Saj put Dhoom 2 on our DVD the other day. I watched around half an hour of it.

What can I say other than utter rubbish.

Yeah I liked it as well, Good movie.

I watched Dhan Dhana Dhan....Goal!

Average film, liked the idea of an Asian Team.

Stuff i didn't like, Pakistani family drinking, and made the Pakistani girl a little too hmmmm.... desperate.

but other then that it was a well directed film.

The Sudhir Mishra directed Khoya Khoya Chand and the Aamir Khan directed Taare Zameen Par. I guess I'll watch Welcome too, should be good time-pass.

Do you know the releasing dates?????

Live and Let Die. Bond classic starring Roger Moore.

Great film :)

About an hour of Dhoom 2 :31:

Utter garbage...all you see is a couple of g@y looking guys (sleeveless tops, bare chests) running around, jumping off cliff's etc....and a couple of pretty women who can't even act...talk about cheap thrash!

Saw Blood in Blood out. A few of my cousins were talking about it for a while and I was at someones place and ended up watching it. Really long - about 3 hours but it was quite captivating. Was definitely worth the time spent watching it

watched some bollywood movie called "dhoka"...and for the first time an indian movie had a fair angle on the whole situation for muslims in india and how terror is a response to it...

The last movie i saw was Chak De India , and i have to admit it is one of the best movies i have seen till date , full credit to sharukh and his acting , :19:

Saw Beowulf 3D last night, great fun. Though its CGI throughout you can recognise Anthony Hopkins, who plays the old king Hrothgar, and John Malkovitch, playing his battle commander. Also recognisable is Angelina Jolie. Even as a CGI character she's unmistakably beautiful, in the role of the demon Grendel's mother. Beowulf's voice is offered by English actor Ray Winstone. I recommend it at the IMAX, which is also set to show I AM LEGEND in January (not 3D).

I watched a film based on a true story about a football hooligan/thug called Rise of the Foot Soldier - very interesting, very violent and not for the faint hearted.

Also went with the family to watch Enchanted - funny and nice viewing for the kids.

Just saw a Punjabi film - Mitti Vaja Mardi - Harbhajan Mann - was decent but too predictable in my eyes

watched transformers the other day and Mission Impossible III last night.

transformers was better to me.

Transformer 8/10
Mission Impossible III 6/10

Saw OSO last night. Story was shot but shahrukh was very proficient. Biggest grosser ever apparently.

Have been on leave for about 2 weeks now so have been watched a lot of movies to keep my sanity ... lol :)

Golden Compass - Fantasy - Similar to Chronicles of Narnia, but basically atheism

Fred Claus - Comedy - Good laugh, but I guess it has an Xmas theme

The Heartbreak Kid - Comedy - Ben Stiller is always a laugh

Lions for Lambs - Drama - Worth seeing. Robert Redford and Tom Cruise. Basically about americans in Afganistan, but from 3 views. A politician being interviewed. 2 soldiers in battle and an american professor having a chat to a kid about things (the professor tried to stop the 2 soldiers enlisting). Interesting story.

American Gangster - Drama - Denzil Washington is still the best, but this time he acts as the bad man i.e. drug lord. Russell Crowe is the good man i.e. cop. Some one has to lose.

Hitman - Thriller/Action - Enjoyed this movie. For once watched a story that was about the British chasing a guy in Russia. Lotsa action. It was funny seeing T-Bag from Prisonbreak acting as a Russian.

Balls of Fury - Comedy - Hmmm ... comedy about table tennis, but worth a laugh.

Lovewrecked - Comedy - Quite a predicatable storyline, but I enjoy watching Amanda Bynes.

Enchanted - Comedy/Fantasy/Musical - I drag my wife to see action, so sometimes I also have to watch these type of movies as well. Wasn't too bad. When McDreamy gave the princess a kiss I am sure all the ladies in the cinema were excited.

My, you've been living in the cinema! Loved Lions for Lambs, Cruise suited his slimy senator role, want to see American Gangster and may catch Golden Compass on Boxing Day.

I am Legend will be playing at IMAX theatres - in London from Jan 25th, so may wait till then to see it, everything is more enjoyable at their screen and sound magnitude!

I saw I Am legend. It isn't really special. Just about this one guy, this virus, and these mutated people.

I watched Hot Fuzz....not as funny as I thought it would be. Still prefer Shaun Of The Dead- a classic.

Apocalypto - good movie but I think a bit in middle when the captives were coming into the city was a little drag.

Followed this by Apocalypse Now - just because the names match

I read somewhere that Will Smith was the only survivor. So where did these mutants come from. And if mutants are what is all left than they become normal. What is the point of a regular human unless his genes are so strong that mating with mutant will produce 23 normal babies at sametime. So in 4 years he will reach century mark and a record

I loved Shaun of the Dead and I agree with you completely, Hot Fuzz was a bit of a let down.

Apparently, it's a remake of The Omega man, starring Charlton Heston. I'll still watch it (it's on the ginormous IMAX screen from Jan 25th).

Wow man, u really have been to the cinema! Forget about keeping your sanity, are you sure you haven't gone crazy after all those movies?!:D
And by the way if they haven’t already, demand that the cinema give you some special offers, i mean you have been making a lot of journeys, no?! :19:

From what I have seen, last couple of movies starring Wil Smith have been more drama and not just special effects or dishun dishan (these were fighting sound effects). Now these actors will do a movie or two here and there for commercial reason but then this could be a third for him in a row (Ali, Pursuit of Happiness and now this). Actually the first movie that he came in or got known was I think Sixth Degree of Separation and that was also drama and good movie.

I will get to see it in 9-12 months

Well, there hasn't been much cricket yet in South Africa. Tests series only starts after start after Christmas.

Movies aren't too expensive (we get discount due to having a "Movie Card"). The popcorn and sodas are the ripoiff.

I last saw Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End. I thought it was pretty good.

Next I'll be watching either I Am Legend or National Treasure 2...I can't decide between the two.

I Am Legend is not a great movie, but I prefer watching anything starring Will Smith over anything starring Nicholas Cage any day.

I watched Bourne Ultimatum last night and was a bit dissappointed.

Some great action, but I think they have overkilled it now.

I watched 30 Days of Night, last night.

I thought it was brilliant. I am a horror film fan and this was a superb film.

I saw I Am Legend which was alright. Kind of a cross between Cast Away and Zombie movies.

I also saw National Treasure: Book of secrets which was not as good as the first one, but still light enough to be an enjoyable experience.

It's a remake of Charlton Heston's The Omega Man. Those people contesting that science is more bloodthirsty than religion in another thread may be pleased that the 'man of the wheel' - the scientist in both versions of the story, Heston's 70's movie and Will Smith's I am Legend, dies for his sins, (after creating an antidote to the virus to save others).

The movie was too short for me - 101 mins, hope there are extra bits when it's released at the IMAX Jan 25th.

Thanks for letting people know :) . I saved my $9. Was he a scientist and was the antidote made to transform the mutants back to normal. But really if all were mutants then they are normal and there was one abnormal/crazy man left

"No Smoking". Brilliant, brilliant film. The best Indian movie of 2007 that I have seen, without any doubts (I have heard of "Black Friday" which is from Anurag Kashyap as well, the same director who has directed "No Smoking". Until I watch that one, I will definitely label No Smoking as the best Indian movie I have seen in 2007).

No Smoking was very good film. Shame it got mixed reviews and very little box office mileage. I remember when I went to see it because of Kashyap's Black Friday there were hardly 10 people in the theatre. And I suspect most of the girls were there to see John Abraham bare bodied.

Though I wouldn't say it was the best film of 2007. Taare Zameen Par is better IMHO.

And btw, I Am Legend was good, 30 Days of Night was crap.

I actually haven't seen Taare Zameen Par yet, but I'm sure nothing can topple No Smoking this year as far as Bollywood goes. F'ing masterpiece!

I have to agree with you here. I simply loved No Smoking though it was surprising to see it get such bad reviews. Some critics even listed it as the worst movie of 2007. Not only that it also turned out to be a complete disaster at the Box Office. IMO , the movie was way ahead of its times for the indian audience. However, i think John Abrham delivered his best performance till date in the movie.

The last movie i watched was Welcome. I only saw the movie because of Akshay Kumar since i have been a big fan of him since his Khiladi days and he has done really well for himself in the last few years. The movie was good actually. The first half was great but the second one was strictly okay. The comedy at times was too predictable but the performances were great esp those of Nana and Akshay.

That's the problem with No Smoking. Really good film, but very few understod or even tried to understand the film. There were a few problems and I felt the 2nd half slagged off a bit, but it still was a commendable piece of work. 1984-ish.

Thanks for reminding me that I had to mention this; I did not realize that John Abraham could act! He was exceptional in this movie, and played his role perfectly. I have seen some of his other movies, and he was quite horrible. I guess a movie this good had to get the best out of him.

what was no smoking about ?

i m legend is over hyped just like American gangster ,its just like any other vampire movie with some more masala added to it !i wasn't impressed ! :(

I watched The Golden Compass yesterday with the family - I must say I was hugely dissappointed. I think the film had been hyped up so much that I was expecting something great - in fact though it wasnt even average.

Saw St. Trinians earlier today. Love Rupert Everett - his double role, as both school principal and her brother, are hilarious.
