Rounders

Matt Damon and Ed Norton.

Had never even heard of it before today.

Anyway, a good time pass movie.

Kill Bill Vol.1

Was on BBC Three last night, although I had seen it before, I wanted to watch it again. What a fantastic movie, highly recommended if you have not already seen it

Agreed. All Tarantino's movies are class, in their own unique ways :)

Its a quirky movie LBB, its very funny in a Tarantino way. You know funny with the blood and guts :afridi

Yeah but just for the record I really really enjoyed it.

Saw Inglourious Basterds twice in the cinema, now waiting for the DVD. Brilliant movie.

Spot on. Absolutely magical performance by Waltz - his acting makes the movie really. Is there in the first scenes and the very last ones too (no, don't worry LBB - no spoiler).

PS: Just saw that the Director himself had a very similar take on this:
According to Tarantino, Waltz "gave me my movie back," as he feared the part was "unplayable."

I haven't seen Basterds yet i really want to see Bradd and christopher's performance in it.. haven't heard a bad thing about them. But i saw Waltz' acceptance speech at the Oscars and i thought that was a disaster.. he definitely needs someone to write for him.

better than most acceptance speeches I've seen.

Memories of Murder (one of the best serial killer movies)
Oldboy (part of the The Vengeance Trilogy)

I've been thinking of watching Memories of Murder for a while.
I think i will after your recommendation.
I've seen Old boy.

Two more if you have not seen are:

Brotherhood of War (as good as Saving private Ryan)
Bitter Sweet Life (top notch action movie)

Brotherhood of war is decent but overlong and all over place, defo not as good as saving ryan

Bittersweet life is good film, indian version is awarapan with inran hashmi

Best korean film ive seen is oldboy, sympathy for mr vengeance and 3 iron watch that if you havent - class

Snatch

On Channel Five last night, other see-again movie but, it is a laugh-out-loud movie with great comic timing. Brad Pitt puts in a superb performance as a 'pikey' and Jason Statham is equally as funny in his role. If you have not seen it and want to watch a good British gangster movie, then it is highly recommended...

Watched a film called The Fourth Kind. Its about alien abduction.

Really good film with allegedly actual footage

D'ya like Dags?

The quote about london was quite funny aswell!

However, overall Lock Stock is a better movie in my opinion.

Seconded. Quite a cool 'timepass' kinda movie, not bad entertainment at all and not boring even when watching a second time.

I and Imdb disagree:

Trust Bollywood to follow suit!!

I've seen them too, they are very good indeed.

Just seen tarantinos inglorious basterds Very good film in his own imitable style, a drama/comedy

Not a serious film, u could call it a masala movie with a little bit of everything and as usual plenty of blood - a showcase for tarantino strutting his stuff

great performances by the german officer where he was outstanding esp the opening sequence where the tension he created was intense and pitt was great in a never seen before role

Overall defo recommend

Its all a matter of opinion, rotten tomatoes rates saving p ryan higher and so does metacritic

Like i said its a good film, defo worth watching however for me the first time i watched saving p ryan i was like wow!!!!!!!!!

Didnt get the same feeling with brotherhood

Fair enough mate.

How would inglorious basterds compare to these kind of films?

I'm thinking of watching that but i usually can't commit to watching a movie unless i'm absolutely sure it's goinng to be good.

Inglorious isnt in the same league, its a different film altogether, it wont go down as an all time classic but how many films do??

For most of the film it doesnt take itself seriously and there arent any war scenes but if ur after a bit of a good time pass movie with some strong performances, blood and guts, some light hearted humour coupled with some high anxiety / tension filled scenes watch it

Like i said its a bit of a masala movie - a good watch

Dont expect anything breath taking or out of this world but it was enjoyable

I saw the usual suspects after the recomendation from LBB....
Its a cool movie, but it didnt leave a great impact on me as it should have.
Maybe if I had seen it in 1995 it would have.

You actually need to watch it two or three times...

It is one of those movies that makes sense the more you watch...

The plot is so intricate that it was only until my second watch, you actually understood the movie...

The twist is great but, the buildup to the twist makes the entire film

Thanks for the review, i appreciate it.

Just seen the hangover, good film

Its not far behind superbad, plenty of laughs and great entertainment

Watched step brothers but it didnt compare, ok movie with few laughs but didnt keep my attention like a few of the others did

Watched Shutter Island yesterday. Really enjoyed it, very eerie and a good storyline.

Worth a watch 8/10.

Watched it today. Great film, but a bit too wacko. I was expecting something else at the ending tho.

The final countdown. Really old movie about this US aircraft carrier that somehow travels back in time from 1979 to just before the attack on pearl harbor. One of the most ridiculous movies I've ever seen including all the crap the Indians and Bashira Jutts come up with.

Forget Hurt Locker and Blind Side etc

If there is one movie this year - its Green Zone - one of the best performances from Matt Damon and an edge of your seat type drama - a war movie about Iraq with some hard hitting stuff... MUST SEE.

Stutter Island, worth seeing again, after Clash of the Titans in 3D!

Someone mentioned that COTT 3D is not all that because it was converted to 3D as opposed to the amazing Avatar which was made specifically in 3D, is that right?

Haven't seen Clash yet GA (will see it on Saturday), but even AVATAR was measurably less engrossing in 'normal 3D' than at Waterloo's IMAX 3D. Not sure if Clash is being shown in IMAX screens.

Saw 'kickass' yesterday, pretty funny movie. wanted to watch shutter island but for the second week in a row arrived late

Clash of The Titans

Bekkaaaaar movie.. what a waste of time.. so disappointing.. there was no memorable scenes in it.. I was expecting something classical like 300.. it failed

6/10

Just watched The Green Zone.

All I can say is WOW!

This movie is brilliant and Matt Damon has outdone himself here.

Would HIGHLY recommend.

Just watched Public Enemies Gotta say i was lookin forward 2 this for a long time cos of the special star cast it had n good reviews However im bitterly disappointed

The film just failed 2 catch my attention The first half was very poor, 2nd half picked up but not enough 2 save the film

The characters were not developed at all especially bales He was poor but also completely wasted His screen time is small and all u see is the same expressions, limited emotion and even less dialogue from him A dummy couldve played his part

Depp was decent but again very limited character devlopement Did i care for him im the end? No

the cinematography was amateurish And a sense of deja vu in every action scene (repetitive n loud)

expected a lot more 2.5 / 5

Saw it last week. Very nice plot and great acting by all.

It wasn't novel idea. (i.e. beautiful mind), but still a great watch, esp for YK's fans.:)

Brilliant movie. Some of the critics slammed it for being repetitive and boring. I think they were watching the wrong movie. It was beautifully put together and as usual Matt Damon excelled in his role.

I loved it.

The two main Iraqi characters were also brilliantly played. The quality of the acting was off the charts.

Robin Williams and John, by far one of the most pathetic films I've ever seen.
