Shutter Island

Saw this the other day. Was so tense whilst watching it and the ending was amazing. I need a little help though. I am sure there is only one possible ending however friends have been telling me different things.

does anyone know a good movie to recommend. Cricket has been highly disappointing today, both Ashes and T20

How was TMK, I am thinking of watching it but I am getting mixed reviews.

I thought so too as Yashraj wont release the DVD of their film so early especially within a month of it being released!

He might be talking of one of them clearer prints though with better sound quality!

Yep he must be new in this :)

DVDSCR or Pre-DVDRIP is much different than a DVDRIIP

I watched A Town Called Panic.

Simple but beautifully made stop motion animation from Belgium.

Torrent ....:)

no it isnt available

Watched two from the comedic genius Stephen Chow.

Kungfu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer.

Both freakinnnn hilarious!!!

'Kasoor' 2001 ( Aftab Shivdasani, Lisa Ray, Ashutosh Rana)

I simply love this thriller everytime I watch it:19:. Ashutosh Rana´s performance was so real and fantastic:14:.

The Tourist - much better than expected! Not too special but definitely a good piece of entertainment!

Narnia - Terrible 3/10

Tron - Really nice visuals but poor storyline. 6.5/10

Watched about 20 mins of Scott Pilgrim Vs the world so far. Seems a bit odd but strangely its quite good so far.

Body of Lies: Russel Crowe and Dr caprio, pretty good movie..strongly recommended

Tron legacy. 7.5/10 . software developers and game players will like it.

yes. Many possible endings.

**SPOILER**

1. He felt guilty-and thought it was better to die as a hero than live as a monster---He was faking and remembered everything--thats why you hear his "partner screaming his REAL name because he knew he was acting

2. They WERE conducting expirements on the patients. thats why the people take Leonardo to the light house at the end. (we see them escorting him, then we see the light house, and the movie ends)

3. They brainwashed the detective from the very beginning. Remeber the very first scene on the boat by telling him a made up story about his wife and kids.--when he tells his "partner" that he lost his cigarettes, and then his "partner" gives him his own cigarettes, then Leonardo starts to see the hallucinations (remember when the nurse tells him in the mountains that never take the cigarettes provided by the hospital) One patient also tells him to Run away.

1st one is the most likley the real ending to the movie because of the last line the Leo tells his partner--"its better to die as a hero then live as a monster"

there are many more possible endings if you search them on google.

Thanks for the reply bro.

This is the ending I thought it was...I didn't even think of number 2 it could even be that, this will play with my head now. Has the director revealed in an interview what the ending was? I'm sure it was number 1 because of that line he says to his 'partner'. The film was great, id recommend it to anyone who hasnt seen it

Cry Freedom - Old Denzel Washington movie based on real events of the Apartheid era.
A long movie but very gripping and intense.

8.5/10

np.

It was an awesome movie and it plays with your mind for atleast a week. the inception also has several endings. :D.

Tees Maar Khan...highly entertaining I thought...infact a laugh riot!

but definitely not everyone will like it...Akki and Akshaye were brilliant!

Yesterday finished watching "Band Baaja Baraat" starring Anushka Sharma and new guy Ranveer Singh who surprisingly acted quite well for his first film along with Anushka who was good.

Overall a good film worth watching and songs were good too! I'd give it 7/10!

agreed...excellent movie!

just seen unstoppable right now. What a movieeee old fashioned suspense - uncomplicated plot and good acting.

For those who were intrigued by the ending of Shutter Island should watch Ichi the Killer.

Insane film with an even more insane ending, not for the faint hearted though.

Watched 30 maar Khan on the big screen yesterday. Worst way to start a year. :( Bilkul bakwaas

My recommendation to all you nice people. Don't watch the movie. Watch Band Baaja Baraat instead.

My recommendation to Farah Khan: Please stick to choreography. Direction is not your cup of tea.

Just watched Knight and Day starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz - A pretty good movie quite enjoyed it!

Tom was good as always and Cameron wasn't too bad either! :P

I'd give it 7/10!

Tees Maar Khan
Got talked into watching a Hindi movie. Fell asleep for 30 minutes in the middle. Woke up and realized I didn't really miss anything. Because nothing (important) ever happens in Hindi movies.

Little Fockers
Not as bad as I was expecting it to be. First movie of this franchise that I've seen. Nothing special.

Watched Tees Maar Khan. Funny in parts, but simply not good enough.

Also, watched Band Baaja Baraat. It was decent. Much better then expected.

Need to catch up on the Hollywood movies. Maybe this upcoming weekend. :))

Departures. Some Japanese movie from 2008. Was pretty good. Won best foreign film at 2008 oscars I believe

Revolutionary Road.

It was a nice movie, a little lagging in parts - but DiCaprio and Winslet's acting was phenomenal! One of the movies I'd love to watch again..

8/10

'Titanic' 1997

Watched it back then in my childhood days but hardly remembered anything...... Well, it was an excellent movie (one of the best I ever seen) and was a very sad one as well:(. The love story, though totally fictious, was doubtlessly the best I have ever seen. The thing that stands out in this is the chemistry between the couple in my opinion. They were just mindless of the things going around them and all the fear etc., and they went on as if simply looking into each others´ eyes.

It should not at all be criticized for not being historically accurate, as for that you better watch a documentary film. They had to put up a build-up to the disaster that it was.

As a side note, heartfelt condolences to those who lost their beloved ones:53:.

Probably the best bollywood film of last year. Was given decent reviews so thought i'd check it out. Was a really good story about strained relationship between a son and father. Was nothing like a standard bollywood film with song and dance - very real film.

Up in the Air
Pure class. Was recommended to me by someone and I loved it from start to finish. I dont think anyone but George Clooney could have pulled of this role was perfect for him to play.

The Machinist

What a weird film. It was very dark and kind of scary at times. If you have seen the Fight Club, then you probably could have guessed the ending but what a great movie this was. Christan Bale has to be the most committed actor of all time. He looks like a freaking skeleton throughout the movie 9 (lost almost 100 lbs), I dont even know how he got fit again for batman begins (shot after 6 months). I couldn't help but keep staring at him. Great acting. I wish he does more of these low budget films instead of movies like Terminator Salvation.
Take a look at him!!!

Not to mention, he was EXTREMELY great in "The Fighter" as well.

I just saw that last week - the whole 3-hour affair.

Honestly, the most engaging, passionate and tragic stories ever. Don't care if its historically accurate or not, its the finest piece of art IMO! They say DiCaprio and Winslet at first refused to do Titanic, thinking they couldn't handle the roles well - but needless to say, both were fantastic the whole time! The effects, the musical score, the romance, the emotion = simply epic! I'm sad Avatar broke Titanic's record - one things for sure Avatar never hit me like titanic did. I cried like anything when the ship sank and especially when Jake Dawson () died...

Although I swear upon everything I've ever known, there was room for 2 on that bed-sized plank! :6:

Here's my favourite score from the movie -

this, and Rose' theme :)

Christian Bale is a true perfectionist.

Brilliant actor.

Awesome movie. Christian Bale at one point put on too much weight for the bat suit...he was nick named Fatman :-D

jus saw the fighter.. Christian Bale..the best, hope he gets an oscar for it

I agree with you on everything. They both delivered an excellent performance. I liked it for the fact that a fairly young couple was chosen for it then.

I will give it 9/10 rating.

The one point/mark misses out for the needless sexual content that it contained. A superb film was reasonlessly made difficult to watch with one´s family.

Although I swear upon everything I've ever known, there was room for 2 on that bed-sized plank! :6:

Perhaps they felt shy of lying so closely to each other:P.

Here's my favourite score from the movie -

this, and Rose' theme :)

"My Heart Will Go On" is a great song and whenever its instrumental version is played in the background adds extra air to the romance and love of theirs. One of the three or four English songs that I ever liked in my life time.

I agree on the sexual content point - not a family movie at all ...... And pretty needless as well - but probably wanted to "spice" up their romance. But it could've been done in a family-friendly way as well so yes, 9/10 from me too - and i've deducted that 1 mark just for that..

MHWGO is love! Rose's theme contained its flute tune towards the end, very very bitter-sweet! :(

Watched quite a few films over the last 2/3 weeks.

Kids films:"Despicable Me" - absolutely superb. "Coraline" - another excellent film based on a Neil Gaiman story.

Family: "Mr Smith goes to Washington" and "It's a Wonderful Life" - both Jimmy Stewart films -both excellent.

"Malena" - a film not for kiddies, due to some adult content, but is a really, really good film starring Monica Belluci.

Not for kids/family: Due to one or two scenes:

"The Horseman on the Roof" - an Italian officer on the run from the Austrian secret police, helping a lady (Juliette Binoche) look for her husband, during a cholera outbreak in France in the 1830's. Sounds rubbish and bleak but is a really really good quality film.

Final recommendation, "Ridicule". From IMDB "To get royal backing on a needed drainage project, a poor French lord must learn to play the delicate games of wit at court at Versailles." Beautifully shot. The word play is razor sharp and the subtitles, do do justice to it.

The Fighter. One of the best ive seen in the recent times. 9/10

Little Fockers. Totally Hilarious. 8/10

The Fighter.
Once again, C Bale shows his brilliance and commitment to acting. Had lost quite a bit of weight for this role.

watched "luck" movie..
excelent movie to watch hope its not coppied from hollywood

Black Swan

Pretty awesome. Made by Darren Aronofsky, the same director who made Requiem For A Dream and The Wrestler.

Mila Kunis.
