Fantastic Four reboot looks good. Last I heard it was meant to be darker and moodier than it's predecessor, which was boring, baldy acted and childish.

'Baby' (2015)

The film is getting great reviews, but to be fair I am still to get my head around the hype. Very boring, too long and loses paces on so many occasions. In a sense this was amongst Bollywood´s very long films seeing that it had only one song, that too only two-minutes long I think. More or less, the film is a biography of one officer and all the operations that he takes part in. I am bitterly disappointed as I was expecting a lot more from it.

What I found really, really strange is that the role of the main villain, shown as a Pakistani terrorist, is played by a Pakistani actor! Yes, he is Rasheed Naz and has worked in 'Khuda Kay Liye' (2007). He isn´t too famous to be recognised immediately by people, but I wonder what the reactions would be in Pakistan had he been some famous star from the country, seeing that the film is all anti-Pakistan.

Three out of 10!

Please use spoilers tag :12:

What was the last film you watched? ('Baby' 2015)

That can be explained, the cop knew that it was a terrorist being kidnapped, so he allowed it.

But did he not know earlier who the missing person was? Why did he then investigate the whole case with such determination only to pull off that nonsense in the end?

Thanks for the spoilers :mv

I almost have a hundred percent record of using the spoilers tag, but I was so frustrated with the film that I even let that slip in, and very deliberately I confess. Very strange revenge on my part I know, but still.....

John Wick is a typical HW potboiler, a predictable revenge story. I will say it's a good time pass film 6/10

Positives

ACTION, ACTION AND ACTION, it's a thoroughly entertaining and well choreographed fight sequences, great job by Jonathan Eusebio . Reeves is back, a finally good action film he is part of after a very long time. The cinematography is best part of the film, and it's style that kept me watching until the end. .

Negatives

Weak Plot, no build up to Reeves character, Dialogues weren't great.

John Wick is so good with his targets but when he was trying to shoot Iosef, he missed it several times .

I don't know why he kept Perkins alive, who wanted to kill him? This doesn't make sense to me.

Everyone knew about John Wick, somehow Iosef didn't have a clue who John Wick was?

Mordecai

It was actually slightly better than I thought it was going to be.

Some funny scenes but not one of Depp's best films.

Easy to watch and a bit of fun really.

5/10

Some critics like hating Depp for one reason or the other.

They even criticised Transcendence, which I and my mates liked.

Mordecai being the other. Paltrow is just as annoying as ever but Depp is actually decent if not very good.

Don't get the hate really.

I like Depp and loved him Pirates of the Caribbean, but nearly every role since PoTC seems to be Captain Jack Sparrow in a different setting e.g. Lone Ranger,Alice in Wonderland and countless others.

I think thats why he gets hate, makes some think of him as a one trick pony.

Lone Ranger wasn't even half as bad as many made it out to be. Alice in Wonderland was a poor film as was The Tourist and Rum Diary but nothing really after. As I said, I liked Transcendence as it wasn't your typical Hollywood Movie. Lone Ranger was fun if not something you should take serious.

This is true.

He needs to get back to his Donnie Brasco days.

7/10

A very good performance by Jeremy Renner in a movie about a journalist who discovers a major conspiracy featuring the CIA and gets targeted for it. Not as venomous as it should have been but very intriguing and entertaining.

Some cool one scene cameos include Michael K Williams, Ray Liotta and Andy Garcia.

'The Equalizer' (2014)

Overloaded with brutality and violence, all or most of it needless, and has that preachy tone, but was overall still a good film. A good time pass film. Denzel Washington has presence mind you and he isn´t bad I think. Wears that serious look which suits him a lot.

Exodus, one of the most boring movies of all time. I fell asleep twice during the movie. 2/10
Don't waste your time, watch Modern Family instead and stay home brothers :inzi

Interstellar, again I got bored in the first half, I was telling myself this is gravity all over again. The second half just simply blew me away, worth watching it again but skip a lot of second part. 6/10

Imitation Game

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/S5CjKEFb-sM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

8/10. Enjoyed the movie. If you liked A Beautiful Mind, you will most likely like this too.

Gravity, the most hyped up movie ever. Expected it to be one of the best movie. I don't why some people find it amazing, tried watching it three times and felt asleep after 20 minutes of playing. Boring movies are not my type. 10/10 :inzi because I slept very well, I play Gravity before sleeping, helps all the time

Haha.. I had a similar reaction to the movie. :))

Watched a little bit of baby

Talks about home grown terrorists and how Bangladesh Bhutan and Burma are just as likely to be a safe haven for terrorists as Pakistan

Not yet watched the rest of the movie

i watched it the plane coming back from dubai and after watching 30 minutes, i fell asleep too.

Tevar 4/10
Typical bwood masala though Arjun Kapoor did a fine job however Sonakshi luked elder than her

'John Wick' (2014)

A good time pass film heavily dependent on action alone.

1. Why did they leave him alive whilst yet killed his pet? I know that they didn't know who exactly he was but still......

2. It absolutely made no sense of John Wick having spared his target initially after attacking them at the disco, club or whatever it was, standing just metres away from him, and then again having chased him all the way.

I will give it 6.5 out of 10. Overall, I am disappointed seeing its very high ratings on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes.

Body Double 5/10

There have been no. of movies on this type of plot.

The Guest 5.5/10

An ok movie with a confused ending may be the director had a sequel in the mind, although the movie doesn't deserve it

'300' (2006)

A yawn-fest full of mindless mini-wars. Amongst the worst films that I have watched.

Had a movie marathon this weekend...

Leviathan...

Really depressing Russian movie..aren't they all...but very good...a mans life falls apart as he challenges a mayor who want to knock down his property and create a town centre...exposes Russian corruption big time...this director is outstanding...really recommend his other movies too...The Return and Elena are must sees too...still need to see The Banishment...

Nightcrawler...

Jake Gyllenhalls character is one of the most detestable ive seen in a while...the best expose of the media since Network...and Rene Russo looks great for a woman who's 60...

Gone Girl...

Finally seen it...and I really enjoyed it...however I thought the ending was poor...

The Treatment...

Belgian movie based on a book by Mo Haydar which i haven't read...good dark thriller...Belgium is quite an underrated movie making nation...ive seen a few good movies from there now...

Fasandræberne...

A follow up from Keeper of Lost Causes...it was so so...decent Scandinavian thriller but I hoped for better...

Finished baby

Great show of Arab planes and malls

Finished off with the elite Indian team excreting bricks on the flight home after trying to take a Pakistani maulana home with them

8/10

Really cool western from Leone starring Eastwood, Van Cleef, Volonte and Kinski!!!! Not as good as it's predecessor and successor but still a really good film with some exciting scenes.

Nightcrawler

8.5/10

An excellent movie and shows how low media can stoop to sell themselves and what the media has become today.Jake Gyllenhall does an excellent job.

He is detestable in this movie...plays his role fantastically...

Big Hero 6. A boy developing friendship with a robot. The reality of the western world, which has crept into other cultures as well. How can anyone develop sentiments for a machine is beyond me. Idiots forming emotional dependency with their machines/gadgets is the new normal I guess.

Cube Zero

A young man whose job is to watch over the Cube endeavours to rescue an innocent woman trapped in one of its rooms.

7 / 10

The Imitation Game - 8/10 - Absolutely brilliant movie with an intriguing storyline and great acting all across the board.

That robot was not only his late brother's sole ambition, but also represented the core of Tadashi's spirit - to help people.

I think there's a perfectly logical psychological explanation as to why Hiro would be attached to a robot.

Jupiter rising. What the hell did I just watch?! One of those movies where within the very second scene you know it will be ridiculously bad. And it was.

You know the movie is bad when you don't even name it properly. :misbah

On topic, could this be Redmayne's "Norbit"?

Jupiter Ascending.

Is it really that bad? Wachowskis do make interesting movies even if not good. I am one of the few people on this planet who liked Speed Racer.

Then again, Sandra Bullock won an Oscar the day after she won the Razzie. So, Redmayne might pray. Either way, Keaton might just be dancing in the aisles.

Ah that's right. Yeah it is quite bad especially knowing that they are capable of so much better.

Gotta check out Birdman though I hear it is next level amazing.

What was the last film you watched? ('300' 2006)

Whaaaaaaaaa?!

I know there were scenes capable of fascinating a tharki like yourself, especially the one where they showed the backside of the king, but this shareef guy skipped them all.

Apart from a film here or there, I have this dislike for films that go overboard on violence and slaughter. I hated the film for its overall boring plot as well.

Can anyone explain the ending of Gone Girl ??

SPOILER AHEAD...

I don't think it was that complex an ending...he wanted to raise his child and accepted defeat to his wife...the prospect of the media abuse of him for leaving his pregnant wife who had just been violated was a nightmare so he simply gave in...

The other option is maybe all of this drama was attractive to him and he was lying to his sister...he didn't want the boring suburban housewife but his crazy wife...

Make a wrapped up spoiler , it will be better.

Lol! I have never been called a tharki before. You have honoured me beyond belief!

It is a cult classic. It is not meant to be taken seriously. But just marvelled at with the slow motion action scenes, the over the top epic speeches and the CGI generated six packs.

'Hawaizaada' (2015)

I think it is a pretty good film. I was quite keen on watching this being a fan of Ayushmann Khurrana.

Irrespective of how historically accurate and verifiable the narrative is, I feel good about the fact that I at least learned something new; at least about such claims I mean.

The Imitation Game 8/10

Excellent movie from beginning to end. Easily one of the better movies of 2014.

It´s less about the "compliment" mind you than it is about the scene highlighted in my post I would think.

Still,..... I hated the film! It failed to fascinate me much with all the things that you have highlighted.

A couple of Spanish movies...

The Method...
Really good movie...a lot better than its synopsis...its a group interview...really shows how awful an ideology capitalism is...

Marshland...
If you like serial killer thrillers this one is very good...cinematography is amazing being in the Spanish outback...

8.5/10

The first film which Klaus Kinski and Werner Herzog collaborated on. Incredibly powerful, depressing and ultimately puts you in a really contemplative mood. Tells about an ill-fated Spanish expedition to find El Dorado, a city of gold. The behind the scenes story is as interesting as the movie itself. Also inspired a classic such as Apocalypse Now. Also has scenes of really dark humour such as some people being too tired to even acknowledge an arrow sticking out of them.

Highly recommended!

How do you do that?...

Go advanced

Look at the box with fonts and other options . Last line you will see a option with Red color S written.
Select the text you want to wrap up and click there. It would be wrapped up.

It was easy

^^^^

I wrapped up something to show you :)

I watched Baby.

5/10

Unrealistic movie. Typical making muslims look bad and themselves look good.

Fury : 9/10 : Terrific movie, pitt was awesome in it. It isn't a regular war movie - highly recommended.

'The Imitation Game' (2014)

An excellent film! 10 out of 10 for this one.

It's less about him being a Homosexual being a difference, but instead of there existing a difference. I feel that if you can't respect a difference then at least you should let it just be. He deserved better than the medical treatment that he got for his "illness" and in fact deserved recognition in his lifetime for the contribution in the second world war.

Apology to any Ahmadi in advance who might feel offended at my comparison, but the film immediately made me think of the scientist Dr. Abdul Salam, a Nobel prize winner whose works never quite get recognised due to his religious beliefs.

Kill the messenger - A very well made movie about a journalist fighting alleged CIA involvement in trafficking drugs to American soil. Based on a true story. 7/10

I will follow you down

After the disappearance of a young scientist on a business trip, his son and wife struggle to cope, only to make a bizarre discovery years later - one that may bring him home.

Good movie about time travel . Has gripping script , with some solid scenes.

7.5 / 10

Gone girl was a gripping movie but the ending was quite poor with unanswered questions.

banner-birdman-film-3-672x372.jpg

8/10

A slightly overrated but nevertheless very good dramedy with startling parallels of the characters to the real life of the actors portraying them. The film is also a technical masterpiece with the crisp editing as if to show the whole movie is shot in one take. Keaton is fantastic particularly in a scene where he absolutely tears into a snobby critic. Norton and Stone provide excellent support.

It's not a superhero movie. It's a movie for people fed up of the deluge of superhero movies.

Though I do get a kick out of telling people it's a cool superhero movie. :P

Terrence Malick's Knight of Cups screened at Berlin film festival 4 days ago, the Rotten Tomatoes rating is only 40% that's really shocking for a Terrence Malick film. :(

A big fan of his films, was really forward to it. I know his films don't appeal to many people, find it boring but I like it.
