Very nicely made movie. Everyone knows the story, so it lacks that surprise element, but nicely made. I loved how Moses's interaction with the God could be interpreted as anything, and right till the end, it stayed the same.
Finally, nice to see someone liking the film over here apart from me. As you might or might not know, a lot of the events weren´t depicted as believed, or weren´t according to the Bible at least.
A much better horror film than I thought it would be. Mysterious stranger lands up in a police station where a rookie is starting her first day and all hell breaks loose. And by hell, I mean the really nasty, bloody and brutal kind. Stars Ser Davos from Game of Thrones as the mysterious stranger. Not very scary but kept me hooked.
Locke - 6.8/10 - Only Tom Hardy could be intriguing enough to carry a film that was shot completely in a car. I found this very simple, short and engaging.
This April sees the 100th anniversary of Gallopoli, one of the darkest periods of the First World War
The bloody campaign was one of the greatest Ottoman victories during the war and a major Allied failure
Russell Crowe's new film, The Water Diviner, due for release in April, was shot on location in and around Istanbul

'Zinda Bhaag' (2013)
First of all, it´s a Punjabi film and not an Urdu film, even though the name gives no hint of it. Secondly, as I do with most of the Pakistani films, I would here to already give it 10 out 10 for the culture, streets, roads, shops, markets, fields, atmosphere and everything shown in the film from Pakistan, most of which brought those nostalgic feelings from my time over there till the age of 11 or so.
Now, as for the film, it was indeed a very good film and one that I had been looking for right from the day when I, around more than a year ago, looked up the list of recommended and highly rated Pakistani films.
Seeing it as things are in the lives of some people in the country, the film is a bit disturbing, very realistic and makes you feel very sad; sad moments accompanied by some funny jokes between the friends.
The beauty of the film lies in the fact itself that it ends with a lot of unanswered questions about the future of the boy, whether he successfully reaches a foreign country, is too deported back or whether its his dead body that reaches back home.
Nostalgic There were suhaag raat jokes as well mind you, in a Pakistani film! The country seems to be "progressing" in your and my absence. I think it will be in the best interest of us both if in about 10 years you produce and direct films starring me. Money and fame aside, I can´t even imagine the fun in yourself telling me the positions to be in before delivering my dialogues.

Two great things that I am suddenly reminded of were how the pain of the people suffering was made to feel in great depths, a thing that the Pakistan TV serials/drama used to be good at back in the days, and some even now. The other great thing was a dialogue uttered by one of the guys who had been deported from a European country, which was.....
"Baar paise drakhtaa´n tou´n nayi degg dey", to be translated as, "Money doesn´t fall off from trees in abroad."
An eye-opener, a reality so overlooked for some living in those countries and something people who visit their home country do not clarify or explain well at times. Everyone who goes back home on a visit is instead often more interesting in showing off his wealth and riches, making the people they meet think that life is just too easy over here. Although it is a great deal a life of more comfort and luxuries (for me it has been very much, I graciously admit) but still, money isn´t gifted to you in any way.

'Fury' (2014)
I am still to get over this, I am so awestruck the way the war is depicted in it, the atmosphere of it, the unbelievable action that it was full of! Easily the most brutal film that I have watched in my life, also perhaps the most thrilling one. It is gripping, having watched it is an experience I will never forget. The air-strikes, the other battles, that battle between tanks is just...... wow! The best war film as well that I have ever watched.
Brad Pitt was fantastic and looked liked as if he would be a soldier in real life too. That "innocent" guy in it was almost an exact lookalike of Stuart Broad.
Immediately after it ended I had to look up whether it´s based on any true story or not, that for two reasons.
1. Like it was with 'American Sniper' (2014) and its hero Chris Kyle, whether Saqs can here too jump in to enlighten me that all the guys depicted in this film were in fact racists, bigots, blood-thirty guys who are being portrayed as heroes in it, which can´t be the case now given it´s a work of fiction anyway.
2. The ending,... just a little blot on the film in my opinion, which could only have been justified had it been a true story. So what they showed was....
.... a German soldier is begged to for life by that young guy from under the tank. He spares him and neither reports it to his fellows about a soldier hiding under the tank. I would have ideally shown that he too gets killed there and then. It´s not about a soldier sparing another´s life, it´s about the amount of damage he and his fellows caused during that fight and the number of German soldiers they had killed. It´s hard to imagine that any mercy would evoke at such a time. It deserves 10 out of 10 if not for that. That didn´t make much sense in my opinion.
Apart from that scene, the ending was epic! The guy runs in from far, breathing heavily, to inform about a troop of around 300 soldiers marching in from the front side. Brad decides to fight, others too join in. The end is nigh, how will it go? Thrilling moments!
Finally watched #Interstellar & i may never forgive myself for missing this masterpiece in theaters. One of the best movie i have ever seen! Hats off to Christopher Nolan. One day, his name & works are gonna be studied in philosophy classes.
No wonder Nolan is way ahead of all other movie directors & writters in the world combined. He is an artist, a visionary, a philoshoper. Have watched Interstellar only once, and i feel like its gonna stay with me forever.

Pitt was good. But Shia and Logan outshone him in this. Logan especial was a revelation. Shia redeemed himself as an actor that the world should take seriously.

I think it was brilliant at showing that on both sides, youth were forced into an atrocious war while they should really have been in school. So he basically sees the mirror image of him from the other side, and it shows that if he was the one that saw a young SS soldier, he may have done the exact same thing.
To me, it shows that the war was something that was decided by the higher ups, was over in four quick weeks, but put a full stop in everyone's lives and really disrupted it.
The ending is a way to show that the humanity and uncorrupted nature of youth is still something to be considered and appreciated. It shows that there is humanity in both sides, and SS soldiers were not all just evil maniac killers.
Nothing great about film like the IMDB rating suggest, the rating is only up because of Paul Walker. Anyway I have enjoyed all of the parts, good fun and a time off from the boredom. I would aptly rate this 6.5/10
An oft-repeated story overcome to a massive extent by some truly exuberant and energetic direction. Slows down a bit towards the end before picking up with a punchy conclusion. Also throws a few wrinkles into the old zombie formula to make it interesting. Not as angsty as The Walking Dead thankfully.
Heard that this movie was controversial so ended up watching it. Didn't get what was so controversial. Not the first hollywood movie to have shown nudity. I found all scenes boring. The guy looked too perfect to be likeable. Young, rich, ripped, intelligent, but no emotions (even lust was mechanical). Girl was better. She had a weak personality and had an innocent look on her face (but was tharkee in reality). Really didn't get what the movie was all about? I dragged the seekbar to the end hoping for a twist, but there was none. Boring unremarkable movie, but had to watch it because of the controversy around it.
That was the first movie we took our son to in a cinema (at the time he was 2 1/2). He was all new to the concept of popcorn and the big screen. Anyway, i wouldn't give it a 2/10. Even as an adult I've watched it a few times with my son. maybe a 6.

Saw it today. Agree with your rating. Great ending. Probably the most moving when you know the actor has passed away. Well handled by the actors. RIP Paul Walker.
I actually want them to put this story to bed now, but there is a hinting of a F&F 8 with his younger brother. Eish.

Quite deep and sense-making, an interpretation that my sister too came up with. I must give up and accept this because this makes sense.
I watched it yesterday again by the way. A great film! Wow!
A question, are there any other good films about the second world war? To be precise, what I am looking for is thrilling, jaw-dropping action and the feel of the atmosphere and the feel of what happened on the battlefield during it, something that this film was full of.

It is fine, I don't think you need to watch past movies. There are some links between the people, but you can see what they are (which people are couples, which are brother / sister).

Shia was thrown out of the actors' van for not bathing for the whole duration of the shoot. He also ripped his own tooth off for some reason, reportedly to get into the skin of the character. )

'Fast & Furious 7' (2015)
Action, action, action! Some brilliant, some mindless, some of it makes you go like "Wow!", some makes you yawn.... But, overall, still a fantastic film! Electrifying, thrilling, entertaining and enjoyable!
81 mins felt like 810. Horrible all around. Even the gore effects look fake. The forest scenery is beautiful but if you put a camera in the woods, you will find beauty. It is hilariously bad in places though.
Movie should be retitled : Don't watch this POS. [emoji14]o:
A guy has a monster for a wife. His friends joke around about how to kill his wife to help him. One day one of his friends accidentally pushes his wife on the ground and thinks shes dead. On looking carefully he sees that shes still alive but decides to kill her anyways to rid his friend off her. After that all the friends including the husband joins in to get rid of the body.
I dont know why i continued watching it. Was quite boring tbh.
Had high hopes while watching but it turned out a bizarre elongated so called thriller, good to see Chang doing some work I guess he had aspirations to be a singer #indianidol

It is a cliched plot but when you consider the actors and the charisma they possess, it's well worth a watch. De Niro, Freeman and Douglas in the same movie? Sign me in.
Terrific true story of how the serial killer John Wayne Gacy was brought down. Dennehy is awesome as Gacy. There is a scene where he is giving this zoned-out, insane look which actually scared me. I also liked the determined investigating officer Kozenczak played by Michael Riley who was careful not to make his character boring. The film also handles the really morbid material well and doesn't focus on the killings.
Gacy was a real monster much like Bundy and this movie shows how dangerous he was.
The future will be a horrible place, that is something I believe is pretty much a known fact by now. No matter how much environmental preservation measures we take, the process of self destruction has started and now it's all about how long rather than if ever. But then if we become extinct does it really mean the death of our planet. A more rational approach would be to rationalize that our time came and went and now it's up to the other species to occupy and proliferate in this small and indistinct part of the universe. This is the basic premise presented in this yet another all too familiar dystopian futuristic movie. Even though the script is riddled with Scifi cliches, mainly borrowing heavily from the Blade Runner, it still presents us with a unique and clever premise. The second protocol or rule for the machines to not alter themselves being the only problem leaving the first protocol of causing no harm to any human staying perfectly intact. So the dilemma being presented is not that the robots will kill us but they will get smarter than us hence leaving us as inferior beings on this plant.
The robots in question however look the same as in any other movie. Even the scorched earth is perceived as hauntingly familiar despite being visually stunning. The protagonist, a middle aged insurance agent played by Antonio Banderas is a man on the verge of a meltdown. A burned out reluctant soon to be father with nihilistic tendencies. He is asked to investigate the origins of a robot thought to have broken the second protocol and stop the process before it's too late. It ultimately leads him to the source robot which was made without any restrictions initially by humans. Through this journey we learn that all cops are bad, all corporations are evil and some other obvious facts. But despite its shortcoming, at the heart of the movie is a deep philosophical question. Is surviving and living the same thing. In our lust for total domination of our planet, have we failed to realize our role in the whole cosmic scheme of things. Isn't our species fickle minded and short sighted nature a threat to not only ourselves but every single being that has as much a right to this planet as us. And ultimately, how can we cope with intelligence beyond our understanding. Will our suspicious minds makes us forever fearful of something we cannot comprehend even if the concept of total domination and destruction of others has been our own sole construct. By projecting our fears on others, will we be able to make machines free from any human biases.
The critics have panned this movie but I feel its worth giving a chance. It carried great potential but wasn't able to quite live up to its hype, still it's refreshing to see movies attempting to explore key theoretical questions. That is what makes the Scifi genre so intriguing and fascinating. It gives us an opportunity to learn about ourselves in relation to our real and imaginative environments. A feat so hard to achieve in any other genres.
Watched Fast and Furious 7 yesterday, thought it was much better than the last 2 partly due to the nostalgia at the end. Thought the action in this one was also better, though I wish the Rock had played a bigger part this time.
Wanted to see Hobbs take his revenge on Shaw, thought their fight ended too quickly. Though that subtly fitted rock bottom was epic
A highly unusual psychological thriller about a radio jockey and his team confronted by a "zombie" apocalypse. Almost all of it takes place in a single location. It is also quite witty and relies on a feeling of dread and suspense aided by brilliant performances by McHattie and Houle. The unusual part comes in the way the virus is spread. HIGHLY UNUSUAL.
A troubled hedge fund magnate desperate to complete the sale of his trading empire makes an error that forces him to turn to an unlikely person for help.
The movie starts of well , builds up in the middle. The ending is probably not up to the mark.
The Rewrite - 6.9/10 - Hugh Grant doing what he's done pretty much all his life, play the boyish charming adult. Decent time-pass. Better than I expected.
