It wasn't surprising but definitely an interesting concept. I imagine this is how it would go if Mohsin was allowed to time travel.
Donal Cozzie: Word. So formulaic. BL has not yet made one good recommendation on this thread. Just imagine how much time she has cumulatively wasted for people on here.

Go watch Disney's Hercules :P

To be fair BL doesnt watch many films from what I can tell.

But yeah, film was pretty standard stuff, liked Hadashi though, wished he was in it more.

Hell a film based on the undeground robot fighting league would've been better

IT'S TADASHI. AT LEAST GET THE NAME RIGHT! :bhatti

Disney isn't what it used to be. Hard to believe the company behind the timeless classics like Frozen and Tangled is producing Maleficient now.

HERCULES IS CLASSIC not Tangled :/

Ok. I love tangled too, but Frozen was way too overrated. Maleficent over Frozen :baelish

Insidious 3.

Not as scary/good as the original, but a big improvement on the 2nd film, some shocking jumps and genuine chills backed up by a warm-hearted atmosphere and dream performance from Lin Shaye.

Really enjoyed it! 3.5 stars out of 5.

I found the whole series to be awful. How the first part got such a critical acclaim, I will never know. Watched part 2 on Sky and it was equally terrible. Went to Cinema with mates and had nothing else to see, so went with part 3......would rather have stayed home.

Sorry for the rant.

Oh anyone watched Triangle?

Really interesting and worthwhile.
Slog.

Lol. To be fair some people don't like the Insidious films.

On another note, I am keen to go and see Jurassic World. I'm sure it'll be pants - but it's one of those that you sort of have to go and see - particularly if you used to watch the original Jurassic Park every weekend on VHS when you were in short trousers...

Jurassic Park 1 was the best Movie I watched as a kid. I really hope they don't butcher the sequel/reboot. It does look good though, judging by the trailers.

Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation, Spectre (James Bond), Hunger Games - Mockingjay : part 2 and of course....Star Wars : The Force Awakens are all the films being released this year.

It's going to be a huge year for blockbusters.

I can't wait!

I have an opportunity to see the new Star Wars film via a private advanced screening. I think I'll be saying yes!!

spongebob squarepants out of water : 4.5/10 : Massive spongebob fan but this movie was a let down, it was plain, boring and not spongebob like at all.

Slog.

Yeap. Randomly downloaded this. Thought it was quite the mindF.

I had no idea what it was going to be about, although the title kinda gives it away. As soon as they show the scene of the radio transmission of someone in distress, I picked it will be one of those mindF movies.

Entertaining.

Watched Dil Dhadakne Do

A film about a dysfunctional and wealthy family who take their family on a cruise to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary.

Awful film. Too fragmented, too many people in it. Chaotic and dull

2/10.

It's not really about the "Triangle" though.

SPOILER ALERT AHEAD.................

...............................................

It's basically about being in purgatory and her getting punished for hurting her kid.

The accident basically is the start point of her journey and her broken promise to the "Taxi-Driver", who asks "You promise to come back"....her reply being "Yes, I promise". She in-turns breaks her promise and is repeatedly put through the punishment of that supposed day/night.

Finally got to watch Babadook after being on my HDD for over 6 months. Really good slow burner, but may not be for those that liked Insidious/Grudge.

SPOILERS.................

.....................................

It is a horror/drama that delves into the psyche of a woman that has lost her husband because of a car accident and is fighting the inner demons, and the realisation she hasn't gotten over his death.

Both the main actors, the boy and the mother are excellent in their roles.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/k5WQZzDRVtw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Also I remembered a film that I watched in mid-2007, that FILM4 have shown a couple of times. The Orphanage. It's in Spanish but a utterly compelling mystery/chiller.

Loved it.

Sounds a lot like Bandook. Any relation?

I don't watch Bollywood anymore. In any case, this isn't about scantly clad women running across the screen for no apparent reason and muscular men taking off their shirts because......well they can, or songs being sung behind some large tree and the passers-by joining in.

Well that sucks!

Watched DDD.

Cast is good, Ranveer was awesome.

First half was so boring and slow, but it gained some ground in later half.

5/10, watch it only if nothing else to do. Rated it highly just because of star power!

when are u seeing it? surely they haven't mastered and done the final edits yet with months still to go

Advance screeing doesn't mean watching something months before it's officially released, but days or even weeks before it hits theaters.

If one is jealous of the bond between Elsa and Anna, one should try to work on one's own sisterly relations. Right now, one is just showing unbound envy by criticizing the greatest disney movie of the decade.

Same here, brother. I am eagerly waiting for this one. Although I had initially planned and sort of wished to watch on the very first day itself, but I don´t go alone and am accompanied by someone or the other from the family, and it is now a matter of others not getting a day off from work in the coming days.

But of course, I will watch it, even if a week or two later. So yeah, quite excited for it:).

In December like everyone else lol! Just a bit earlier in December!

Nightcrawler - thought it was excellent, kinda reminded me of Taxi Driver.

Sleep Tight

Brilliant movie...i liked the fact that the whole movie is from the villains perspective...

Wild Tales

Hilarious set of short films...none of them are related except that the topic is revenge...Spaniards are very good at black comedies ive found..

If anyone's still interested in my film choices then I'd watch Scenic Route.

Better than I expected and who knew Dan Fogler could do a serious role.

Really well acted and very nice twist at the end :)

Nightmare_FilmPoster.jpeg

6.5/10

A really uneasy movie about a man who as a kid, witnessed his parents doing it and hacked them to pieces and got locked in an asylum. He is then, inexplicably set free from an asylum and sets off from NY to Florida racking up a bit of a body count. In Florida, he is stalking a family of a woman, her three kids which includes a VERY annoying boy who you want to stone to death and the woman's boyfriend.

Unlike the much better Maniac which made you want to bathe the whole day, this one is dull in places and not as gory as advertised except for the ending which quite literally goes from 0 to 2000 in no time. Insanely violent, gruesome and disturbing, it makes you wish the rest of the movie were this powerful and glorious.

That said, this movie got it's distributor arrested in UK (Ah the moral guardians!) for refusing to lop off a second of violence from the film. Hence, it is one of the original 74 Video Nasties. I feel it's a bit overrated in terms of it's "nastiness" but it clings to you.

Do watch if you are in the mood for something unusual and want to watch the rotten underbelly of NY.

Ditto to Nighcrawler btw. Very good film and excellent acting by all involved.

Jake Gyllenhaal is one of the best actor around and his next film, Southpaw looks fantastic.

Riz Ahmed is only getting better too.

Sleep Tight is fantastic

Wild Tales seems interesting. Will check it out.

Beautiful Girls 1996

7/10

A very good comedy/romantic film, not a typical teen age drama, slightly on the slower side but very enjoyable. Not for every one though.

Blue Ruin

Im a sucker for revenge flicks and this is a very good one...

I'm not, I adore their bond (it moved me to tears..)

BUT.. Elsa's running away and the whole 'let it go' scene? Tooooo cheesy :/

Zombeavers - Much to my surprise, was pretty fun for a Z grade comedy-horror flick. Enjoyed watching it.

Jurassic World look absolutely terrible tbh and I predict it'll suck

Some people/critics have already seen it. It's gotten positive reviews and feedback at this juncture.

I was about to post the same. A lot of people were hugely disappointed with its trailer, so I wasn´t kind of expecting many positive reviews to flow in, but so far so good; I am reading very positive reviews. So I am even more excited for it.

Dil Dhadakne Do 4/10

Absolute borefest with the old age plot of generation gap movie was too long and the songs are very boring and anti-melodious quite a star studded cast but not lived upto its hype (for me)

Apparently Jurassic World is pretty good :-O

The reviews I've read said the story is the stupidest thing of all time but the action is good.

Again thats fine, but there's no way in hell I'd enjoy a film with such a dumb story (review pointed out a couple examples) without tearing my head off. Was more than willing to turn my brain off for earlier Jurassic films but this is the 4th one if they're still churning out dumb plots I think I'll pass.

Spy - 6.5/10

I quite enjoyed this movie. Plot was predictable I thought but there was an unexpected twist to it. Also, the dialogues and its delivery by Melissa McCarthy was witty and very funny. Highly recommended for pure entertainment. Also, it has Nargis Fakhri in a short cameo <3.

The-Contender-2000.jpg

The Contender (2000)

An intense political thriller-drama.

When the sitting Vice President dies, Senator Laine Hanson is chosen by the President to be the first woman to hold the office. The selection meets with opposition from members of both parties, in particular a powerful political adversary who will seemingly stop at nothing to discredit her. Her confirmation hearings set off a firestorm of controversy as shocking secrets from Hanson's past are revealed, threatening her personal life as well as her political future.

A heavyweight cast with Gary Oldman, Jeff Bridges, Christian Slater & Joan Allen.

If you are politically minded do watch this!

It's not as if the previous Jurassic films were based on total realism either, so that really shouldn't be a surprise. They all had stupid stories, but still did well with audiences and critics alike.

I enjoyed Jurassic World a lot. But then Jurassic Park was so huge in my childhood being the pinnacle blockbuster back then. Plus dinosaurs are badass.

Some of the dialogue is awful and most of the characters not particularly interesting however visually its fantastic and the action/suspense is top draw. Better than Avengers 2 for sure.

The Indominus Rex was a fantastic as well as the raptors of course.

Just got home from Jurassic World, I'm sure many of you are wondering if you should watch it. Here is an easy test to determine the answer.

Q: Have you watched Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park: The Lost World in the last 15-20 years?

A: No -> You will probably enjoy Jurassic World. Also, you haven't seen Jurassic Park? What the hell went wrong with your life?

A: Yes -> Don't bother.

If you do answer Yes to the above question and watch the movie anyway, you will probably sit there for two hours going "Oh yeah, I remember this scene from the earlier movies. Except it was better in Jurassic Park."

I answered Yes. I will still go. I have no doubt that I will say the same thing you quote above.

Is Jurassic World Spielberg?

No, Colin Trevorrow. Take a notepad and pencil and see how many references to the earlier movies you can spot.

On second thought, take a couple of spare pencils just to be safe.
