The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 and Part 2.

8/10

Superb; a worthy depiction of the greatest comic book in history.

Fast and Furious 7. Knocked my IQ down a few points.

Big Stan (Rewatch). Quite hilarious.

Grand Piano.

Elijah Wood is playing a concert, a sniper starts talking to him and tells him that if he misses a note then he dies.

Mildly interesting and inventive, John Cusack is amusing as the sniper. 6.5/10 overall.

Black Coal and Thin Ice (2014)

Crime thriller from Mainland China...was expecting a kind of Chinese Memories of Murder but not at all...that said its a pretty good movie...

Sounds like a musical version of Phone Booth.

Just saw mad max fury road. Had nice stunts and okayish acting. 7/10

A walk among the tombstones 5/10

Watched it thinking it would be a good liam neeson thriller but the acting was so boring, too many minor characters, bad soundtrack as well, and a weak ending.

Captain america winter soldier

6.5/10
Was fine. Not bad at all.
Waiting for civil war

Jurassic World. Was my first movie in the series. Good stuff.
Check our the first part.. Ure missing out big time.

Even in today's age the first one is still relevant when it comes to graphics.. And more accurate than today.

I thought about it but was reluctant since I think the graphics may not be as good? The plot makes up for it?

Haha I see you added the last part to your post. So will check it out then. Thanks!

6/10

A decent true-crime film from 1976. The kill scenes are genuinely disturbing and suspenseful. There is some unnecessary comic relief in the middle. It's a bit slow but overall watchable.

The Guest

Decent 80's style movie. Though I think overrated by critics 6/10

expectations for the gallows? charlie charlie
Lol i had never heard of it until last few days. Seems to be a cheapo from Blumhouse productions. Depends on the director really.

Blumhouse gave paranormal activity, oculus, sinister and insidious but they also gave Ouija. So it's a bit hit and miss really.

Batman 1989 - Burton did a fantastic Job in bringing the Batman Character to life on a global scale and doing justice to his portrayal in the comics as a dark and gritty entity. Keaton was brilliant and nothing further needs to be said about Jack Nicholsons performance as the Joker. Also a shout out to Kim Basinger; DAMN!

8/10

Batman Returns - This movie maintained the fundamental themes of the Batman movie in 1989 which included another strong performance from Keaton, I thought the guy playing Penguin did an even better Job then Nicholson as the Joker; the performance by Danny Devito was incredible and one I shall never forget from my childhood. Has there ever been a better Catwoman then Michelle Pfeiffer? she was born to play that role and the writing of her character was again consistent with the comics and Michelle did a brilliant job in depicting her mannerisms as a troubled creature who was an empowering but unpredictable and fiesty female with a heart of gold at her core. Loved the scene where Batman finally hits her in self defence when he was being attacked and then she'd pretend to cry and say "I'm only a women" :))) before kicking his backside. She was so beautiful mA :afridi

8.5/10

Going to Watch Batman Forever tonight; schumacer assumed the role of the director and Burton was demoted to the role of a producer which prompted Keaton to drop out as Bats. Burton was criticised for the dark/gritty themes and portrayal of the caped crusader and Warner-Bro were criticised by familiys apparently for allowing the movie to be made with dark overtones and excessive violence  Anyway Batman Forever was more "family friendly" and panned by critics but did well at the box office.

Agree re the first two. Very under rated. Nolan did an exceptional job and I think the best out of the lot, but Burton wasn't far behind. Pfieffer. Wow.

The Schumacher era is correctly referred to as the Schumacher error. Less said about it the better.

From that list, more hit than miss. Although I haven't seen ouija

Watched The Attorney. Korean movie. Thought the first half was a bit slow and I got confused about where the movie was headed. Then it got intense. And it turned into an amazing courthouse thriller. The political theme throughout the second half was well captured and raised the stakes throughout. Really enjoyed it.

Wall Street. The original. Finally watched the entire thing. Gecko. Amazing. I just wished Charlie Sheen could act as well as his father.

Definitely; Burton also took inspiration from the dark knight returns like nolan and I'd like to think that Burton's task was a little harder in the sense that it was the first time a live-action Batman movie was being released on a global level and he did well to set the bar and provide a blueprint.

"I'm only a Woman Bruce just look at me" :))

Wow Indeed.

I've not watched Batman Forever and Batman and Robin in a long time :)) going to re-watch them; don't expect them to be better then Burtons movies but maybe they're not as bad as they are made out to be. They did well at the box-office but that was probably because of being aimed at children to so in terms of what their aims were you could say the movies were successful.

Add the original purge and Oren Peli's new stinker area 51 too. Blum seems a producer who allows a long rope to his directors since the budget is small. Ideal guy for new directors looking to make their mark.

For the record, Ouija was boring and I didn't even finish it but it made a lot of money. Like a LOT.

Double di Trouble 9/10
Excellent comedy a punjabi movie starring Dhramendra top stuff laughter stuff

Though the original purge was ok. Wasn't a stinker. Could have been a lot better which just made me so angry.

First time walked out of the theater not even mid way through. That's how boring ouija was.

Damn.

The only movie I've walked out on was No country for old men. And it won Oscars. Lol. Gotta give that another chance.

Extremely watchable gore-soaked shocker from Maestro Fulci. Genuine suspense too.

Has a scene with a zombie fighting a damn shark! Too awesome for words.

scarecrows_onesheet.jpg

6.5/10

A decent slasher film about a group of paramilitary robbers (!!!) who are betrayed by one of their own and who chase him into a cornfield which seems to have sentient and murderous scarecrows in it. Some good scenes in a mix of overacting and characters doing dumb things. Sort of like a low-rent Aliens but with scarecrows!

Mistakenly downloaded San Andreas Quakes instead of Dwayne Johnson's film. Despite knowing it was not the correct film I downloaded, I still saw it. It is one of the worst film ever.

Wild Tales (2015)

Superb anthology movie from Spain compromising of six short movies...all about revenge.

9/10

Takashi mike's "As the gods will" - based on a successful manga series. Like many films I have seen in the recent time, felt it had a solid first half which was only spoiled by a poor second half.

The Patriot - 8/10

Great war movie set in the time of the American Revolution. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The role of Mel Gibson playing Benjamin Martin is brilliant.

Batman Forever

7/10. Hey it was nice, I really liked pretty much everyone apart from Nicole Kidman, who was just way too much desperate for my liking :/

Batman Forever

I've been on a Batman Marathon as of late :)) Finished watching Forever plus Batman & Robin a few days ago.

Would have gave it around 7.5 but still agree with your rating on forever; maybe I enjoyed it more because of the nostalgia of being a 90's kid having cherished those movies. But it actually wasn't that bad, some of the stuff was so ridiculous it was good :yk like the batmobile driving up a wall LOL. The movie had a light atmosphere compared to Tim Burtons movies but still enjoyable, really loved the performances by Lee Jones and Jim Carrey. Val Kimer may not have been as good as Keaton but his performance was decent; Chris as Robin wasn't so bad either imo don't know why he was criticised for his performance at the time.

Nicole was some kind of psychiatrist wasn't she who is usually turned on by edgy guys except this time bats happened to an edgy guy who wasn't a douche given his crusade, was also attracted to him because of his mysterious nature and damaged psyche. I guess because of these reasons came across as a bit desperate but she was meant to be portrayed that way; in the end she chose Bruce though and hit two birds with one stone :afridi also she was so beautiful:heart: kazamaDamn!:chacha

I am still marvelling at how silly this movie is. Yes it's very gory but it has horrible acting, no suspense, a continuity error where a severed hand mysteriously is unsevered in the next scene! IT ALSO DOESN'T HAVE ZOMBIES!!!! Poor Ian McCulloch keeps going to islands to get into trouble.

This movie utilizes the same sets as Fulci's Zombie but the director is not even 10% as good as The Godfather of Gore.

4.5/10

On the plus side, it has a scene where the leading lady disrobes for no reason and is painted on by cannibals. So it's not all bad! :asif

Ex Machina - Amazing film and very successfully makes the audience ask the questions the protagonists are asking themselves. Very Black-Mirroresque feel to it. At the end, you do have to wonder how advanced her AI was. Could she actually feel emotions or was escape her whole raison d'être and anything she did was for that goal?

What??? It has no zombies? What kind of a zombie Holocaust is it then? Dont these film makers think before naming the movie. How can it be a zombie holocaust if there arent no deformed, tunday type zombies making noises of an old tape recorder in it?

Woman in Gold 8/10 , beautiful film
Jewish refugee living in the US sue the Austrian government for her family paintings that was stolen during the Nazi era

Yep..Thats what they said. Overall the movie is good. Guess each have different style of acting

Really sad that Mel Gibson is not directing much nowadays..Loved Passion of Christ and Apocalypto

Watched Batman vs. Robin animated cartoon yesterday 6/10.

Movie is a sequel to the last animated movie - Son of batman. This movie builds on the relationship of Bruce and Damian Wayne and how Damian is adjusting to his new life at Wayne manor and as the new Robin. Really enjoyed this.

It mixed two exploitation staples - the zombie genre and the cannibal genre. It does good on it's cannibal side. Loads of cannibals munching on humans and jungle dwellers making weird sounds and doing weird ceremonies. The first zombie doesn't even appear until the 50th minute and even after that, they are very inconsistent. Some act like humans but with mud on their face while some do the proper "Zombie walk". There are like 3-4 zombies in it. Those hoping for an epic showdown of cannibals and zombies will be very disappointed.

The acting is terrible. I mean I have seen school plays with more professional acting.

What is even sillier is the British banned it as a video nasty fearing their wee kids will be corrupted or turned into serial murderers after watching this movie. Gotta love the Brits! :91:

Yes, the build up was really nice, however I was a bit disappointed by the ending. Oscar Isaac was a BAWSS in the film though.

What I liked about it was that it didn't take the usual "guilt you into liking it due to the 'holocaust', the attrocities commited against the jews and just shameless heart string pulling" route.

Yeah saw this on the plane and was quite impressed.

Watched Changing Lanes again, was on the tele. Quite an intense movie. Samuel kills it.

7.5/10

An overlong (3 hrs!!!) but very good movie about the demented serial killer and necrophile Ted Bundy. Mark Harmon(Gibbs from NCIS!) is terrific as the charming, polite but soulless Bundy. Special mention goes out to the actress who portrayed Eleanor Rose, mother of one of the victims. A truly soul-stirring performance. The movie also excises all of the lurid subject matter. It shows none of the kills except for a couple of startlingly violent ones towards the end when Bundy goes into slasher mode.

Harmon shows us the charm, then he peels off layer after layer to show just how far gone this guy truly was. A chilling psychopath.

To know how evil Bundy was, just look up his final interview. Lying and deflecting blame even in his last days. Can't believe stupid ladies wrote him love letters while he was in jail.

Part of the MO of Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs was taken from Bundy (the pretending to be injured and seeking help). The other half was taken from Jeffrey Dahmer.

Will check this out. Is it a proper major release or a TV movie?

It's a TV movie. But a very high quality one. A peek into the disturbing mind of a psychopath. It aired in 1986 when the real Bundy was on death row. He reportedly didn't watch it.

Another high quality TV movie was To Catch A Killer about the pedophile and murderer John Wayne Gacy. The real Gacy was really impressed. The actor portraying him in the film was creeped out.
