They defeated Ireland and then defeated USA. Loss vs Pak would mean jackall.

I can say the same about Canada. If only Aaron Johons were not run out Canada would have scored above par total against pakistan. Against Canada pakistan was 85 in 15 overs remember that.

True Since 2017 final (even then INdia was way ahead of pakistan) they faced off in 6 encounters. . India won 5. one no result.That final was a freak match. They got spooked after SL chased down a target and decided to field first in a crunch game.

Kohli was witless against Fakhar. Since then India has managed to contain him through Kuldeep yadav

33 balls 29 runs 3 dismissals in 3 matches.

Why is pakistan fans still getting worried didn't they beat australia and whitewashed south africa in their den pak odi team looks a different beast i know saim is not there but still on other side india looks like carrying old players.
 
Shaheen and Naseem have been bowling like 40 year oldies. The spark is missing from Pakistan team. Only if somehow the team finds a way to galvanize will we have a chance. However, i have seen enough losses at hands of India so i am not going to worry about it.
 
The way Pakistan performed against Kiwis in the first game of the tri-series, i really have zero hopes for this team to win this clash... India is gonna destroy this team again.

I know my team. We cannot really trust them. they will do wonders 1 day and will go to zero very next day.
 
Pak have to bat first and put a score up. Anything over 260 allied with a new ball burst of 2-3 quick wkts in PP will give them a chance

As much as Rohit has disappointed me since our T20 WC victory, I'm pleased with his century in the last match. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I might not want a certain set of players selected in the squad, but once they are selected I'll 100% back them. I dislike accumulators in LOI after the 2 new ball rule has been introduced. I like players who can dominate attacks. Rohit is someone who'll either lose his wicket cheaply or go for the shots.

I'm wishing him good luck for the CT.

P.S. Another point, I'm looking forward to seeing Pakistan host an ICC tournament. Will be fun.​
 
India has less than 50% of win percentage head to head against only one team in the Champions trophy history and that's against Pakistan

As an indian, am sick of this unwanted attention on india - pak match,....india play bangla before this...and its not going to be exactly a walk in kennigton gardens against bD...

It is limited overs. You can lose to anyone with certain things going in your favor. Things like toss. Even in 2017 India was the favorite. That is still considerd one of the biggest upset. Given the fact 3 or 4 key players are facing retirement loss is a distinct possibility. An upset nonethless.

If we can win somehow than it will be miracle for us . Pakistan losing is count as upset because they had recently beat australia in australia, South Africa in South Africa .

Injury are part of the game .niazi haven't done anything special so far

Bumrah is also not playing for india and he is bigger match winner than any one from the Pakistan side .

I know dor pakistan fan's are think Saim is 'maseeha' but this bubble will be soon burst but now he is injured so it takes more than expected time

We have hardly played them. Since 2017 CT Finals, we played:

1. 2 ODIs in Dubai 2018 where batting second is always easy and we chased both the time.
2. Rain affected WC 2019 game
3. No result Asia cup 2023 Game 1
4. Two day ODI in Asia Cup 2023 Game 2 with Haris Rauf injured and Pak with a bowler short.
5. World Cup 2023

5 full games in 8 years don't tell us the exact picture.

Also, from the above games, 3 matches were pre covid where India's top 3 were in their prime years. Now Dhawan has long retired and Rohit & Kohli in their last leg.

Our bowling is very weak as well with Bumrah missing, Shami not bowling well post injury and Siraj dropped. So the fast bowling will be debutant Arshdeep along with out of form Shami and Rana. If it doesn't spin we are in big trouble.

Objectively speaking, this will be the weakest Indian team Pakistan will face in a long time. This is my honest opinion without any trolling or bias.

Definitely formwise one of the weakest. Any bowler can be match winner against us. Pakistan relies on Fakhar who has been tamed by Kuldeep last 3 times. Shaheen, Naseem, Rauf other 3 they rely on. Abrsr unknown quantity for India.

The first round of group stage tickets will be available for purchase first, with tickets for the semi-finals and finals to be sold later.

Moreover, a joint press conference with the captains of all participating teams for the ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to take place in Pakistan on either February 16 or 17, according to sources from the PCB.

As per PCB sources, a formal letter has been sent to the ICC, requesting that, as per protocol, all team captains gather in the host country prior to the start of the ICC event.

During this press conference, captains will discuss their preparations for the tournament.

The captains of all teams, including India’s Rohit Sharma, are expected to attend the press conference, which will be scheduled by the ICC a few days before the official start of the tournament on February 19.

It is the responsibility of the host board to provide visas to all players, officials, media, sponsors, and fans, including the Indian contingent.

As in previous tours, three Indian players were among those who received visas to visit Pakistan for scheduled events in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi.

The PCB will continue to handle visa arrangements for any individuals who require them.

Once the ICC announces the schedule for warm-up matches, the final date for the captains’ press conference will also be confirmed.

Pakistan's nemesis in ODIs in the recent years against India has not been Bumrah (who has been good) but Kuldeep.
 
I voted for india- poll....maybe i am biased being Indian.
Jassi not being available has now skewed the predictor - i'd still say 55-45 in India favour -with match being a close exciting match.
Mo Shami is yet to hit his straps, Harshit is inexperienced, Arshdeep is canon fodder halwa on Dubai pitches
Hopefully our spin carries us thru....for the batting, big time pressure on hitman, VK, KL to perform else its last chance saloon....
for pak - Saim Ayub not available is a blow, but they might be more inspired at the turn of events of not hosting the indian matches and might come out firing.
Match should be a good one.

Every single team come with atleast 2 specialist spinners and Pak go with Abrar only and he himself a rookie in ODIs..
With the current team of friends 11 Pak will go for an early exit losing all 3 games..

Except Fakhar , none of them selected for this CT2025 can come even close to Indian players... 2017 Pakistan had the rhythm and was peaking at the right time with young Babar , Shadab and Hasan ali.. Amir was just back from the ban and Junaid partner him nicely with the new ball and the older ball to reverse. Imad played a crucial role with his bowling which helped the ball to reverse in 30 overs...

Only twice India faced pakistan in UAE in the last 10 years. India won by 8 wickets and 9 wickets. Shikar and Rohit did the job last 2 times. Now washed up Rohit and GIll
 
I still don’t believe we can even compete in this game.

Hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but India is too professional a side and their skill levels are miles better too.

I personally want full Gali Galooch in Dubai, i want this match to feel personal, i want India to feel the hurt. Even tho losing Saim Ayub has really slashed our chances but i will pray and hope that we get to destroy the showbazz rockstars. They have been barking non stop since CT has been alloted to Pakistan. They moved few matches outside of Pakistan. I want this to be felt personally by our players.
