Why is the Pakistani hierarchy so scared to make drastic changes...

...to replace the bad seeds in the side?

What does it need for them to take their hands out of their pockets and actually do their jobs?

Do they not trust anyone coming through the ranks?

Or is it a simple case of being too scared to replace the "experience" with the new blood?

Senior players have a lot of backing from the media, PCB and in some cases fans. So selectors are always afraid of the backlash.

Remember how everyone in the media attacked Inzi for not selecting Hafeez for the Asia Cup?

It's strange how we're so keen to fast-track bowlers but so reluctant to select batsmen, even those in their late 20s, who have been consistently performing in domestic cricket.

I don't understand how guys who have tolled and scored big in FC cannot even get at least a couple of series. How can Usman be discarded after one test? Real shame that the next series is long away as these failures will probably be forgotten.

Changes will only come when the fans in UAE stop going to Pakistan’s games.
If the selectors aren’t making changes, then we, the fans have to force them to make changes.
Saj needs to start PakistanFanTv on YouTube.
During the PSL, banners of InziOut should be displayed.

Interesting to note that Prasad Indian selector consults Dravid India juniors coach for selection advise
He said ""We have discussed with Rahul (Dravid, the A-team coach) that Shubman is ready for international cricket. The best part is the clutch of A tours which has made all these players battle ready for the biggest challenge. Look at Hanuma Vihari and Mayank Agarwal... they don't look intimidated when thrown into the deep end of the pool"

The invisible hand does not help us to begin with, top it up with real lack of fortyfying solid blue chip studs/talent coming through the ranks. This is what's preventing us from going to next level and sticking out with our ttf's and hoping something good will come of it. However, mind you, lack of intl. cricket back home is a big reason plus we were never blessed with batting to begin with. Now add to it social media, social acceptance, phones, video games, pranks etc, our next gens are not too concerned about cricket. The sport has really become a passive passtime, rather than good old days where kids would play the game religiously and put in endless amount of hours into it. Now, any guy who can hold a bat or ball gets hyped to the moon. And we fans are to be blamed heavily aswell, as we are happy and get excited with a kid who scores a pretty 20-30. I havent seen a single fan here dreaming of a player or expecting a 100 let alone 200 or 300 from their fav's... heck look at shan masood who we are gloating over and chest thumping about where in reality he wouldnt make another international 11. Yeah he played better than the rest, but his contributions werent good enough to be honest.

Hopefully, something magical happens and our fortunes change where kids are dying to play the game and prove themselves to the world...

The whole crop is rotten. Just look at our U19 teams of this decade to realize the gulf in talent pool between us and other established cricketing nations. I believe Afghanistan will replace us in the near future, in terms of flair, killer instinct, and, above all, rankings.

We have made plenty of changes over the years giving chances to the likes of Umar Amin and Salahuddin amongst others. No newcomer has really done that well to merit a permanent place in the side. I guess nepotism is also a deciding factor in Pak Cricket.

Lack of understanding the game, information about players & being clueless about the contemporary cricket.

When you are out of your depth, you try to do conventional things that covers your a$$. Most of PCB’s actions are to cover up for awkward situation - team selection is just a part of it. A classic example - Hafeez was shamed for his own performance, so he retiered to save his World Cup dream; but I can bet had he been available, he would have gone to SAF, and whatever he does Inzamam is covered - for that hundred against AUS; Ul Haq will use his weight as player to prove why picking Hafeez was a logical call. But, that would have cost Shan’s spot - his batting improvements should have been evident to technical people, but it didn’t - hence they didn’t risk him when hafeez was available (in uae).

Similarly, few days back after scoring almost 20K runs for PAK, MoYo has suggested Azhar & Asad for WC - is this only buddy backing? No - this is absolute dumb suggestion, someone who has no clue about the topic, so safer option is to back seniors. I can bet my house - MoYo isn’t aware of Asad & Azhar’s ODI stays, didn’t bother to check either; they are seniors, so easily explainable bia experience route. Someone listening Rameez’s commentary should realize what I am trying to say. Our Athar gets lots of bamboos for his hyper actions, but I can tell that the guy can utter the ins & outs of at least 50 BD players instantly from his memory, because he follows BD cricket like 2nd religion - which game we won/lost, why, how, who failed, what went wrong ..... and this is even junior level.

I have to say, the amount of information one can get about PAK cricket, cricket as a whole, new players, different conditions across world, cricket strategy, tactics, past history, technicalities of any skill, combination - none in PCB possess a fraction of that; hence picking (& praising) known senior faces are the safest option.
