1st ODI: Pakistan vs Sri Lanka, Abu Dhabi [Updates]

Hope the bowlers dont give too many wides and no balls. Would love disciplined bowling by them.

That should have been another one for asif i think, infact it looked plumb in the relpay. pad before bat.

Sensible. Afridi has big hands, a definate advantage for a slip fielder and Yasir is probably the best of a poor lot

afridi isnt in the same class he once was as an outfielder - still pretty good but as u point out he could be a good slipper
 
I have to say, poor team selection. Either Razzaq or Afridi needed to be dropped because that is a very weak batting line up. Fawad Alam should be at six.
 
Well, Afridi can't be dropped - he contributes too much to the team with the ball and offers some experience in a relatively inexperienced outfit..

If it had to be one of them, it should probably have been Razzaq. Otherwise we'd have to fit at least 20 overs between Razzaq, Alam and Malik.

True. Hes put on a bit of weight in the past few years and is nowhere near as agile or quick as he used to be

The way Afridi plays, he does not bring much experience to the table. A sign of maturiy once or twice now would be nice to show us he has 'matured.' We need to select our best players and why Fawad is not selected is beyond me. either Razzaq or Afiridi has to be droppped. Thesea re the same players who failed in the WC (afridi's fault for getting himself banned)....so why do we keep going and on testing them?

I am not saying scrap them but there are more deserving players then them.
 
sami bowling well here,, just need a bit of luck his way,,, Asif bowling brilliant as always..
 
Afridi should play at the moment, he is potentially the best player...there is a new era beginning for Pakistan and therefore it is a perfect time for his attitude and discipline to rise to the required standard

100% agreed. One of them should have been dropped. Fawad and malik can do a 5th bowling job. We can always go back on razzi or afridi but its time to test youngesters.

That is a bit harsh, by that reasoning asif should be dropped too. Afridi is a better allrounder than razzaq, if you count fieling too. I think his inclusion is good for the team.
 
only one four hit so fare in the inning....this pitch has to paces.. bowls sometimes keeps low..
 
good atmosfare around the ground..plenty of supporter still coming ionto the ground..
fielding has been better what we have used to see, but that was expected.. let see how long their can countinew

ohh now i have noticed younis khan isn't playing..(hint.. cuz afridi missed a chance in the slip)
 
poor fielding at slip by afridi,, this should have been catched.. we really missed inzi here for the first time today...afridi missed it completely....lokked realy silly..
 
that was just sad to how blatantly Afridi missed that chance ... actually that wasn't even a chance, it was a give away!

No other choices. I guess either Malik or Nazir could have been there, but they're probably better utilized in at point/cover.

Unlucky AGAIN for SAmi

Mohammad Sami to Kapugedera, FOUR, Edge past Afridi at slip. Ball travelled fast to the left of Afridi at a wide first slip. He did not pick it up.
 
Afridi should have gone for it, may have been just out of reach but it was worth an attempt. Afridi isnt really a slip fielder.
