1st Test - England v India, Lord's

If the rain or bad light doesn't play a role in the remaining sessions then England should win. Very surprised though that Monty hasn't troubled the Indian batsmen more then was expected.

First ball after lunch

69.1 Anderson to Laxman, FOUR, the edge flies wide of second slip, Anderson pitched the ball outside off stump, it seams away from Laxman who doesn't move his feet and pokes at the ball, there was no third slip in place and the ball runs down to the third-man boundary, streaky start for Laxman after lunch

I can see Dhoni & Laxman playing to their potential and God that looks great. I always wanted Laxman should start showing his real colors and show more commitment Inshallah there is no more stoping India. Now can they do it? Although i cant be able to see Indians celebrating but still i want them win today

Got him bowled! Laxman is beaten by a lovely inswinger by Tremlett that nips back beating the defences and hits middle.

India 231/6

A lot depends on Dhoni now. One of the most important innings he'll be playing

not watching it. did laxman have his trademark dumbfounded " surely its against the rules to be bowled" expression that he puts on whenever he gets bowled.

Didn't watch as i was typing it up. I'll look on the replay.

I haven't seen much of Dhoni other than slogging.
What is he like batting with the tail?

When you haven't performed since decades on a particular region expectations of fans are bound to come down. You can't stay optimistic for bunch consistently failing. It will require big effort from men in blue to make a game of this one and I really do hope that some spirited individual takes us through! They do need to deliver good knockout punches in order to gain expectations of millions back home.

India going well so far: 143/3
U summed it up for me also.I was very optimistic during the 2nd test in SA ,even more for the world cup.Atleast we would reach at the semis ,then What?.It is not being pessimistic,it is just that not ''keeping any high hopes'' only to get disappointed.

It's funny cause its true.

yes the ball can be taken but there might be a chance that play will stop for light if ball is taken.

they might have taken the ball. not sure. it looked shiny

GONE! Bucknor gives Kumble who is plumb lbw to Ryan Sidebottom. As plumb as it gets really with the perfect indipper. Hitting middle and leg.

7 down India

India needs 133 more to win. come on Sreesanth, atleast do one dance move

Dhoni taking the singles from first ball of the over. Fine by England!

Does the idiot knows that he is playing with the tail and India is trying to draw if not lose (inshallah the will lose) the match, moron.

OUT! Zaheer gone strangled down the legside. A faint edge i think off the bat and he's gone caught behind. Rain coming though!

Dhoni

they check the light and stay on. wicked. but maybe only for this Panesar over

Indian players all gathering on the balcony getting ready to celebrate the draw. The champagne is waiting i bet.

RP Singh what a legend. Plays an aggressive shot and plays all over it! Hits the off stump and
England only need 1 more wicket!

Vaughan and Sreesanth having a little chat. wonder whats being said

What celebration do we expect from Sreesanth if they go off for bad light?

Jesus Christ how did they not get caught! Dhoni lobs it up in the air but safe

good little sweep from Dhoni, not what was required though. needed a single, not a 4.

it is very dark. there are still 3-4 hours left in the day.

India celebrate taking the light! The indian fans go wild and smug grins from players in dressing room.

Tea has been taken, so they cant go back on for atleast another 20 mins. Lets hope it doesnt rain in that time

I never see the celebrations like this in indian camp since they won 83 world cup ....LOL . Now get they should ask Sreesanth to at least perform a rain dance during this 20 minute break.

it was out but it might have been it was too dark for umpire to see and also batsman to see. they should have been off 30 min ago I think

All 3 results still possible.

Test cricket at it's best, this is what it's all about forget the pyjama game and especially that recycled garbage that's gonna hit the screens come September and make baseball seem like a favourable alternative!

Just seen the replay and he did. He went over to Dhoni with a confused look on his face.

:)))

Is rain the only concern or light are extremely bad as well?

It would be unfair if this washes out. Let's hope it stops soon.

4.40 pm The drizzle has got heavier and more covers have been brought on. Perhaps a few Indian fans are doing the rain dance at Lord's.

4.25 pm The drizzle has returned and the covers are going back on. The 4.40 pm start is doubtful now. The groundsmen are saying that now that the rain has started it's not going to stop for long intervals.

I think the light may have improved but rain is there. still 2 hours left

if I were an England fan and IF the rest of the match washes out, I would really want to kill Buchnor for not giving that shout against Sreesanth. it was a close shout..
