3rd Test, Day 3 Official Thread!!! [01/12/05]

what is your guess PPers, how many more overs can be bowled today? what do u say, if batsman being offered bad light! would they take it ?should they take it?

how long can batsmen resist taking the light? I mean the umpires must have the right to force them correct?

Its 4:28 local time so atmost another 5 to 10 minutes before batsmen will be offered the light.

Definately go off. No need to tire ourselves out and do them any favours in faded light. Lets just pile on the agony :16:

I read a glowing tribute to Inzamam once and it sums up the way the great man has lead this side.

It went something like this:

"Inzamam may not have the roar of a lion but he has proved time and again, that he has the heart of one."

Even Guardian Unlimited has stopped refreshing now.

Global conspiracy?

I think Bob and Inzi have told these two to step on things and continue to play, because 12th man and Arshad Khan are ready on the boundary with energy drinks for batsmen.

yeah, but I want more and more runs on the board today...who knows what brings tomorrow?

Strange they didnt go off. I suppose the light isnt all that bad after all. Im not watching the match but by the evidence, the English bowlers seem to be having a rough time out there :-)

how long can they continue not accepting it?

I think the more overs we play, the more the chances of there being a win/loss as opposed to a draw

Let them remind themselves of the Karachi test....when they insisted on playing thru teh dark !

Drinks break: The light's definitely 'indifferent' at best, but Pakistan seem keen to stay out, push on, and add to their current 156-run first-innings lead. "Somewhat farcical," lambasts Paul Allott on the commentary, sounding as fed-up as the English fielders.

From Guardian Unlimited.

Whats so farcical about staying on?

does anyone know whether akmal can speak english? havent seen him being interviewed before.

Umpires have taken the players of the field, artificial light had taken over natural light and Harmy was bowling short stuff.

so wat was the score on close plz? cricinifo has crashed again?

199 runs 6th wicket partnership ranks 5th best in all test partnerships against England.

They've gone off after a succession of short pitched deliveries from Harmy. Looks like hes trying to hit our boys. I think its time for our boys to return the complement post haste ;-)

Paul Allot was adisgrace again..Pak decided to stay on after 4 30pm, and he wants the ICC to change the laws of the game! Just like Bootha wants to change the laws every time he sees Eng on the back foot.

I have been VERY VERY disappointed with the way these 'commentators' have tried to riddicule Pak at every conceivable opportunity-whether its complaining at the pitch or the sun or the climate.

The sooner they get to India and drink the nights away, the better for their sanity!

Of course it was ok when England were chasing runs in the dark in Karachi 5 years ago.

They should go out tomorrow with all guns blazing.Get to a total of around 550 in 15-20 overs and then we'll have plenty of time to bowl out England. We'll probably win by an innings but even a 9 or 10 wicket win is good enough. But Akmal and MoYo should be aggressive tomorrow.Lead of around 250 would be enough.

Why is there such a obsession with what the english commentators thinks. they have a right to their opinions like the rest of us.
Why is there such a victim mentality about the discussions on these pages.
How gives a hoot what they think. watch the game

If ONLY there were only English commentators doing the job, I could deal with it!

Its the Uncle Tom mentality lot like Rameez and Waqar that I cannot listen to anymore...all they do is criticize Pak players (Team) and suggest ways for England to topple them :12:

Paul Allot is a complete moron - dont worry about him.

They make a fine sqaud of morons: Allot, Botham, Colville, Willis etc.

Really wonder where and why they found them!
