Steve Smith is working hard on finding a solution to his mid-Test sleeping problems, but Tim Paine says it’s not “an easy fix” for a batsman who doesn’t know how to switch off.

Smith has made no secret of his sleeping troubles in the past, saying during the Ashes that he only gets 15 hours of shut-eye during a five-day Test.

He told The Daily Telegraph this month that an app which plays the sound of rain has made a small difference, but he still can’t stop his mind drifting to thoughts of batting – particularly when he’s mid-innings or soon to be at the crease.

It's not just what they eat or weigh.

The all round fitness is missing, strong cores, ability to run, pick up and throw, stamina......... Shadab is perhaps the benchmark for the team to aim for.
 
Warner should play attacking cricket and aim for 300 runs. Apart from Afridi there is nothing in the bowing.
 
Marnus is eating up Steve smiths runs. Marnus should focus on improving his bowling and bowl more overs. Let smith come at no 3
 
I would rather picked Shadab and Faheem in the side than these railu katas.

He has lost fitness off late as well.
 
England got challenged by the aussies and kiwis, among best test teams atm. Pakistan's side is nowhere close to these two. A whitewash is very much possible.

When did he coach a team. A guy who has zero experience as coach been given a job of chief selector, head coach and batting coach. Wat an idiotic move by wasim and ehsan mani.

Don't think Australia will loose more than 3 wickets in this innings. We would have all out by 40 overs had we bat first.
 
Misbah knocks Shadab and Faheem but this is a two man attack.

Abbas and Shaheen are keeping it tight, less than 2.5 runs per over.

While Yasir and Iftikhar and Musa are going for 5 each, without any wicket-taking menace at all.

Yes. Broad is getting out nz openers. Otherwise should have made a cameo opening the bowling for pakistan just to troll Warner

The bowling is mediocre but OMG the fields are so negative that the batsmen can’t take a chance if they want to.

I’ve attended every Pink Ball Test here. And I’m giving up now and going back to the hotel. This is unwatchable dirge from a team which is badly selected, badly coached and badly captained.
 
When pakistan bat it will probably be 200 all out on this pitch

That’s not what I meant. I meant we cannot move past that one glory to go on and lack the hunger to add further wins and achievements. We need to see what’s happening elsewhere in the sporting world and apply that. Physical fitness is BIG in the world these days and not just amongst athletes. But Pakistani players look like they don’t have a clue what that is. They look tired when fielding. And then there are things like length etc. which should be fine tuned by now. They’re international players not club level stars. They need to look what’s happening on the spot and modify themselves accordingly.

We can't do it in Aus. At least not with these players. If you were ever thinking that Pak is going to win with Smith, Warner and their full strength bowling attack, you were only delusional.

We have to revive our Test cricket. And this will not happen in Aus. The toughest place for us, we've never won there in our entire history since we started playing cricket as a country. A lone match win was decades ago.


Our revival will start from our home, and the darkness will end soon where we were getting whitewashed at our home.

As an Indian fan, this is bringing back nightmares of watching Vinay Kumar bowling to the Aussies in 13/14 and Agarkar a decade earlier though he somewhat did redeem hinslef by picking a 6fer at Adelaide.

Yasir is nothing compared to Ashwin and Jadeja. Look at this economy rate. Ashwin and Jadeja went for 2 and 3 runs per over last year in Australia.

FACTS

South Africa slaughtered Australia last year.

Then Pakistan went to South Africa and in a single Test:

Shadab took 4 wickets at 20.00 each.
Faheem took 6 wickets at 16.50 each.

It was Misbah’s dumb choice to then discard them in favour of Yasir Shah and Musa and Imran.

And now Misbah is being held to account for his predictably catastrophic decisions.
 
Why does he keep bowling short again and again? Its annoying for me to see it so I can imagine how the folks here feel. It just keeps sitting up and they will.keep pulling it all day with no issues. Why won't waqar tell.him what length to bowl?

If he is greedy for money. Then wasim Khan with all his managerial experience is brainless to the core to select failures, inexperience and rookies as coach.
