3rd Test, Day 3 Official Thread!!! [01/12/05]

381/5 another 7 minutes to go for tea, this should be second last over before tea.

Well actually Inzy's services might not be required - these 2 have already done the damage ..a quick cameo from rana will be the last nail in the English coffin ..just goes to show how well Botham reads the game
 
there is another 40 overs to go we should play all of them even in bad lights

No No we are in a strong position if we get a lead of 150 then we should score quickly and try and get a lead of 250+ and look to bat only once.

I've been so impressed by Shoaib throughout this series it's hard to put into words. And to think that he's still a bit tubby, if he puts his head down and works hard over the winter and gets into even better shape for the visit by India then we're going to see some fireworks.
 
Previous 6th wicket highest partnership is 145 between Mushtaq Mohammad and Intikhab Alam PAK v ENG, 2nd Test, 1973.

I think Shoaib is much better batsman than Hasan Raza ..well done Akhtar!

the commentator must be english
 
allot giving an idea to me, in this season, play with the white ball with england dark blue clothing and pakistan dark green all around, no numbers or names and you play through even in the light with the white ball.
 
Pak need to bat until lunch 2moz and hope not to bat in the 4th innings. they should play as long as they can tonigh and go for the charge tomorow. day and a half plenty to bowl england out

well i don't think they should bat tomorrow lead of 250 will be good but not easy
 
Thanks to all of you who write me back with the updates........great performance by the Pakistanies...we have couple of English workin with us in the office and since Ashes, they all talk to me cricket and since yesterday, they are looking to find covers from me...Bloody POMS...the never knew what they are getting into...now they like to go for lunch separately...now they all look all business and no time to check the score....
 
wasnt pak supose to hav a long tail according to these so called english experts. the talk yesetrday a few quick wickets and eng wil finish off the tail.
they wil soon realise shoaib akmal rana sami can all bat!
 
The wicket has eased out and seems like it was a good toss to loose!
 
For all you stats freaks, Yousaf and Kamran have equalised the highest 6th wicket partnership record in tests against England.

fantastic performance. Botham may be going on about having green wickets and 6 day matches, but the fact is that we managed to beat them on a dead wicket in Multan, despite losing many overs in the day, and came close to doing the same at Faisalabad.

England only have themsleves to blame for not taking control of the match after winning the toss.
 
Willis just called Botham "superhuman"... well, he did bowl 307 overs in 8 matchs in county

I dont think we will be going at 4 runs per over, it would be between 3 and 3.5 atmost.

Dude? You do know that we're 1-0 up against what was billed as the best team in the world. This is a test match. We're already going at 3.5 an over which is above-average. All we need to do is bat and bat and bat some more.

He is quite decent, quite athletic though he had a torid time against India in the jeet lo dil series in the field.

I agree with you..everyone who think Hasan Raza is a good player definately lacks some basic cricket knowledge. :)) and there are a lot of raza fans here. :O

Alghazzali mate. We are in no hurry to win this test match. It is England that need to force the pace. We just need to bat this session and tomorrows lunch session.

A lead of 100 is not enough to start slogging. A lead of 200 is the right time to start throwing the bat. I dont care if we win 1-0 or 2-0. As long as we win the series thats the main thing.

Hope Kamran gets his 100, would do him the world of good. Also MOYO get his 200 too. Basically this was a long time coming. Our batsman have generally played well and got starts, but never quite converted them to anything big. Today its happened :-)
