So after humiliation series defeat against NZ at home ,what are the expectations from this ageing indian test teams?

I personally dont have much hope from indian team during upcoming most hype Border Gavaskar trophy .

Most of key player's are past their prime and playing currently based on Reputations .

Pace attack is very new apart from bumrah,

Akashdeep, Harshit Rana , Nitish Reddy are playing first time in australia which is graveyard for newbie pacers from Asia ( expect few like bumrah etc)

So keep your expectations very low from this ageing team.

5-0/4-0 drubbing is awaiting for them and this will be end of Rohit , Kohli, Ashwin ,Jadeja etc .

They are untouchables at this moment .they think We can do whatever wanted to do. They choose which series they want to play which one is not. We didn't had any international cricket for almost 40 days and domestic tournament was ongoing but they didn't feel like to play in that tournament.

I expect rohit to score a total of 100 runs in this series and kohli at max 200.Seems this series will be a proper drubbing in aus after 99.i think at max a draw in Sydney .Mostly bgt will be done in first 3 matches .next 2 years will be our transition period for sure . after a long time ,we will get in to all kind of tournaments as underdogs aka 99 style.

I expect rohit,kohli,sarfaraz positions will take good 1 to 2 years to identify and settle.Axar,washi,Kuldeep will have to settle down and there after shami replacement.Add Gill's ever susceptible batting on tough pitches.

I think after 1st test injury pant is not fully fit but team management was hurry to Play him . Pant has serious issue with his knees and that run out was result of that injury.

If you watched our last two series in SA, you would know that no spinner apart from Murali/Warne could have taken wickets on those seaming wickets.

He is definitely one of the top 5 test cricketers of the last decade.

Yes Lyon is worse then Ashwin. Clearly Lyon averages 49 and 42 in aus and Sa and doesn't have any 5 wicket hauls in SENA.
