Andrew Tate and brother Tristan to be tried in Romania on rape and trafficking charges [Update on post #1294]

I am not sold on him but he handles the legacy media as well as anyone I have seen. He is incredibly intelligent and as soon as one group thinks they have him as a supporter, he turns around and slaps them. The best example of this is the Right wing in America, they loved his takedown of the woke guys that promoted feminism etc but he then turns around and slaps Israel, a country the right in America love more than their own mothers.

If he returns to the UK is there any chance he could be seized by the authorities and locked up?
For what? The cases seem more of a wish than anything illegal. I maybe wrong and his earnings from something that can't be seen anything other than immoral but illegal?

Which means the interview about Israel - Palestine is just another ploy and he is going to slap you next.

i dont dislike the guy, i find him entertaining, i just think the amount of relevance that is given to him both by those who hate him and worship him is astounding.

hes essentially the "cool kid" at school, whatever hes good at, that's the most important thing in the world, whatever hes not good at, that's geeky brokie behaviour.

the idea that he is some new age leader against the economic system is a joke, hes literally the embodiment of the consumerist free market ideal. his entire persona is validated by his material belongings.

i think the polarised reactions towards him are an indictment that both men and women in western society lack father figures, men worship him as some sort of warrior philosopher their dad should have been, and the women hate him because they've never had a male figure of authority in their lives.

Andrew Tate wins legal challenge over seized assets

Controversial influencer Andrew Tate has won an appeal in a Romanian court as he seeks the return of assets which have been seized by authorities.

Mr Tate is being investigated in the country over allegations of human trafficking and rape, which he denies.

On Monday, Bucharest's Court of Appeal ordered a new trial over the held assets, which includes luxury cars.

Mr Tate's brother Tristan and two associated companies were also parties to the successful appeal.

The brothers appealed a December 2023 court ruling which upheld the legality of the seizure of their assets.

A ruling handed down by a higher court on Monday said it overturned the earlier ruling and referred it for a retrial.

The decision means the Tate brothers will be able to return to court and mount a new legal effort to reclaim their seized assets.

Two companies, SC Ground Breaking Development SRL and The Cannon Run Limited, were listed alongside the Tate brothers as parties in the appeal.

In a post on his official Twitter account, Andrew Tate said a court will now have to demonstrate the wealth was acquired illegally in order to justify the ongoing seizure, adding: "They won't prove a thing because it never happened."

Court documents released in June indicated the brothers had amassed millions of euros and acquired expensive assets and properties via their business activities, which included adult content and online self-help courses.

Both Tate brothers deny charges levelled by Romanian investigators that they exploited women via their adult content business, which prosecutors allege operated as a criminal group.

Two female Romanian associates were also named alongside the British-American brothers in an indictment published in June, and seven alleged victims were identified.

The brothers were first arrested in December 2022 and spent time in prison before being place under house arrest. While they are no long under detention, the brothers are prohibited from leaving Romania while the investigation progresses.

In January 2023, expensive cars were seen being removed from a property associated with the Tates near Bucharest. Watches worth millions of euros were also confiscated during the raids.

They should drop all cases against Tate since they couldn't convict him. Why harass him like this?

If evidences are strong, what's taking so long?

Controversial influencer Tate has become notorious for his misogynistic remarks over recent years. Tate and his brother Tristan are currently awaiting trial after accusations of forming a criminal gang to exploit women. They both deny the allegations.

Now, new data has revealed that men and boys from generation Z are more likely than older generations to believe that feminism has led to more harm than good.

The polling also found that one in five males in the UK aged from aged 16 to 29 look favourably on Tate.
More than 3,600 people were polled as part of the new research from Ipsos polling for King’s College London’s Policy Institute and the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership [via The Guardian].

Prof Bobby Duffy is director of the Policy Institute. He said of the new findings: “This is a new and unusual generational pattern. Normally, it tends to be the case that younger generations are consistently more comfortable with emerging social norms, as they grew up with these as a natural part of their lives.”

While the majority of younger men think feminism has done more good than harm and don’t agree with Tate’s views, Duffy said: “There is a consistent minority of between one-fifth and one-third who hold the opposite view. This points to a real risk of fractious division among this coming generation.”

Prof Rosie Campbell, who is director of the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership at King’s, said: “The fact that this group is the first to derive most of their information from social media is likely to be at least part of the explanation.

“There has been a zeitgeist where young women feel they can own the idea of feminist identity … [Young men] hear a lot about girl power but don’t, at this stage in their lives, understand the inequalities that we know are in the world when you hit work and childcare.”

Tate in trouble
=====
Controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have appeared in a Romanian court after the UK issued warrants for their arrest.

The internet personalities were detained by Romanian police on Monday night on arrest warrants over alleged sexual offences in Britain.

Bucharest's Court of Appeal postponed a decision on the warrant.

Andrew Tate, 37, and Tristan, 35, "categorically reject all charges", their representative said.

The men remain in custody.

Romanian Police said two arrest warrants were issued by British authorities for exploiting people in the UK.

A representative for the Tate brothers before the hearing described the arrest warrant as a "bewildering revival of decade-old accusations" leaving the brothers "dismayed and deeply troubled".

"They categorically reject all charges and express profound disappointment that such serious allegations are being resurrected without substantial new evidence," the statement said.

"They are fully committed to challenging these accusations with unwavering determination and resolve."

Their representatives claim the allegations cover 2012 to 2015.

Andrew, wearing a black hoodie, and Tristan arrived at court in handcuffs escorted by police.

They did not say anything to the gathered press, but as they were leaving court Andrew smiled when asked if he is ready to go back home.

Following the hearing, the brothers' lawyer Eugen Vidineac told reporters he knew little information regarding the warrant and did not know if new evidence was provided by the authorities.

In December, the Tate brothers, who are dual UK-US nationals, were ordered by a Romanian court not to leave Romania after the brothers made a request to visit their mother in hospital in the UK.

The brothers are being investigated by Romanian authorities over separate allegations of rape, human trafficking and forming a criminal gang - charges they deny.

They are accused of exploiting women via an adult content business, which prosecutors allege operated as a criminal group.

Two female Romanian associates were also named alongside the brothers in an indictment published in June, and seven alleged victims were identified.

Mr Tate has repeatedly claimed Romanian prosecutors have no evidence against him and there is a conspiracy to silence him.

He is a self-described misogynist and was previously banned from social media platforms for expressing misogynistic views.

Andrew Tate and brother Tristan to be tried in Romania on rape and trafficking charges

Andrew Tate is a self-described misogynist who says there is a conspiracy to silence him
The trial of controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan is to go ahead, a court in Romania says.

No date has been set by the court which has been reviewing prosecutors' evidence and the pair have appealed.

Andrew Tate, 37, and Tristan, 35, were arrested last December over allegations of rape, human trafficking and forming a criminal gang - charges they deny.

The internet personalities are also wanted in the UK over sexual offences allegedly committed there.

The Tate brothers, who are dual UK-US nationals, are accused of exploiting women via an adult content business, which prosecutors allege operated as a criminal group.

Two female Romanian associates were also named alongside the brothers in an indictment published in June last year, and seven alleged victims were identified.

Andrew Tate is a self-described misogynist and was previously banned from social media platforms for expressing misogynistic views.

He has repeatedly claimed Romanian prosecutors have no evidence against him and there is a conspiracy to silence him.

The case had been discussed for months in a process before a preliminary chamber where the accused could challenge the evidence of the prosecutors.

On Friday, the court in Bucharest said the case met the legal criteria and would proceed.

The brothers' lead counsel, Eugen Vidineac, said the ruling "lacks legal basis and reasoning".

"We have filed a strong appeal as we believe the ruling to be unlawful."

Andrew Tate served with civil proceedings papers on behalf of four British women

Andrew Tate has been served with civil proceedings papers in Romania on behalf of four British women, their lawyers have said.

Lawyers on behalf of the four alleged victims have said they are bringing a case against the social media influencer at the High Court in the UK after the Crown Prosecution Service decided not to prosecute in 2019.

The four women allege Tate raped and assaulted them and are seeking "damages for injuries they suffered as a result".

Tate, 37, is accused alongside his brother Tristan Tate.

A representative for the Tate brothers said they "unequivocally deny all allegations", and are "fully committed to challenging these accusations with unwavering determination and resolve".

Three of the British accusers were the subject of an investigation by Hertfordshire Constabulary.

The Hertfordshire investigation was closed in 2019.

In a statement, McCue Jury and Partners, the law firm representing the four women, said: "Three of the women bringing the civil action reported that Tate had raped and physically assaulted them to the UK police in 2014/2015.

"After a four-year investigation, Hertfordshire Police sent the case to the CPS for a charging decision. In 2019, the CPS decided not to prosecute.

"Despite additional evidence, the CPS have declined the women's recent requests to review its decision."
