Arsenal FC | 2022/23 Season

Mamoon As PP forum may not open before the start the PL season.

PREDICTION TIME! :wenger

Where will Arsenal finish in the PL?

note. You got it horribly wrong last season.

My prediction for Arsenal. 5th place UNLESS a top elite striker arrives.

Arsenal is already better than Liverpool, United, Chelsea, Spurs and Newcastle and the arrivals of Rice, Havertz and a couple of more good signings will only strengthen the team.

There is no way Arsenal should be finishing below those teams. The expectation is to be City’s main title rivals and finish in the top two.

Anything below that, let alone fifth place, would be a complete disaster and worthy of sacking the manager.

I agree that a prolific striker should be a priority, perhaps next summer. Jesus will never be the striker to score 25+ league goals. He is inconsistent finisher but a very good forward overall.

However, having a system where the goals are spread across the front line and midfield is better than one prolific goal scorer.

Kane bangs in 30 goals year after year but Spurs are nowhere near the title while City won the league in 21/22 with their top scorer (De Bruyne) scoring 15 goals only.

Arsenal have four players (Jesus, Saka, Martnelli, Odegaard) who score in double digits. Havertz will also get similar number of goals in this Arsenal team.

Arsenal scored 88 goals in the league last season which is more than good enough to win the league in most seasons. That is 3 more goals than what Liverpool managed in 2019-20 when they won the league.

In fact, City with Haaland scored only 6 more goals in the league last season than Arsenal, so although having a more potent number 9 would help, lack of goals is certainly not Arsenal’s issue and Arteta’s system is not dependent on a goal scoring machine up top.

Stop being a coward are Arsenal finishing 1st or 2nd? Saying Top 2 is sitting on the fence and a cop out.

If Arsenal finish 3rd let's see if your calling for manager to be sacked.

This would be a good signing way better option then castagne or some of the other rubbish full backs we have been linked to. Plus fact Tomiyasu will get injured again as soon as someone breathes on him.

You don’t follow other leagues. Please don’t pretend you have any idea about him and his qualities. You had to Google him after he was linked to Arsenal :))

On a serious note, he will be a really good signing. He has been on Bayern and United’s radar for a while as well but Bayern are unlikely to sign him because they will buy Min-jae (Google him :))) and United are really slow in the market this summer because of the ownership issues.

It is difficult to predict who will win the league between City and Arsenal without looking at how things pan out. There is no point in taking wild shots in the dark without assessing the circumstances.

It is like asking who will be the top 5 goal scorers and assist makers, who will have the most clean sheets etc. and then claiming I’m sitting on the fence by not giving you a list.

If you want to make blanket statements please go ahead. We all remember how you claimed 12 months back that Arteta will never have Arsenal fight for the title and should be sacked.

Ive seen him play for Dutch national team so that's where I've seen him play, did I say anything about the Dutch league? Again you making silly assumptions.

The fact he's coming from Ajax and has come through their youth ranks. Means he's technically good like all their youth products are.

Your sitting on the fence, all last season you were giving bold statements Arsenal will do this, its in the bag etc.. then when others made predictions you were saying fans had no faith and weren't being positive.

So which is it? 1st or 2nd? You have until the start of the season to decide.

If Arteta doesn't win title after 4.5 years in charge (end of season coming up) he should be sacked. 2nd place again is not acceptable.

A trophyless season again he should be sacked.

West Ham are expected to reject 2nd proposal from Arsenal for Declan Rice — £90m total fee, £75m + £15m add ons 🚨⚪🔴 #AFC

West Ham believe £15m add-ons are also difficult to achieve.

Hammers still expect Man City to enter the race this week.

West Ham 'fuming' with Arsenal as the Gunners latest Declan Rice bid is rejected

West Ham are reportedly 'fuming' with Arsenal over the lack of progress in their negotiations with the Gunners over Declan Rice.

Arsenal's second bid - believed to be worth £90million - is set to be rejected, after it was tabled by the Gunners on Tuesday. However, it still remains short of West Ham's £100million valuation of the midfielder.

According to 90min, West Ham are fuming with Arsenal over the negotiations, as they have previously indicated in talks they're willing to pay the asking price. Rice appears to be Mikel Arteta's No1 target this summer, after they narrowly missed out on the Premier League trophy.

Rice seemingly sent West Ham fans home with the perfect leaving gift, when he led them to glory in the Europa Conference League. And after the final, Hammers chairman David Sullivan confirmed Rice wanted to leave the club.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: "I think it has to be. We promised him he could go. He set his heart on going. You can't ask for a man who has committed more to us this season.

"In due course, he has to get on and we have to get a replacement - or several replacements. It's not something we want to happen. We offered him £200,000-a-week 18 months ago. He turned it down.

Pathetic but expected.

Simply epitomises the ambitions of the club and the incompetence of Edu when it comes to transfer negotiations.

I don't think it'll happen.

Imagine what's going through Declan's head, him and his representatives must be wondering if the club are actually serious enough to get this over the line.

If I was Declan, I'd also be wondering why are Arsenal valuing him less than other clubs.

You don't see the likes of Man U, Man City, Chelsea or even Liverpool go about their negotiations like this. They just accept the fee if they want the player and get the acquisition done.

Arsenal have made a bid, believed to be about £30m, for Ajax's highly rated Netherlands defender Jurrien Timber.

Numerous Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, have been linked with Timber.

The 22-year-old has two years left on his current deal.

It is thought Ajax want in excess of £30m, although personal terms are not thought likely to be a problem if an agreement over the fee is reached.

The Gunners, who finished second in the Premier League last season, are optimistic about completing a deal.

However, other clubs, including Bayern Munich, are known to be interested in signing the player this summer.

Timber made 47 appearances in all competitions for Ajax last season, including all six of their games in the Champions League group stage. He helped the Amsterdam side to win the Eredivisie title in 2021 and 2022.

He has 15 caps for the Netherlands, playing in four of their 2022 World Cup matches as the Dutch reached the quarter-finals.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is keen to strengthen his defence in what could be a summer of change at the club.

There is uncertainty over the futures of midfielders Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka amid ongoing interest in West Ham skipper Declan Rice.

Arsenal valuing him less than other clubs? Arsenal is the only club that is valuing him.

City, Chelsea, United, Liverpool, Newcastle, Spurs are not even bidding for him. They have offered £0m for him. Even Bayern retreated without an official bid.

Rice will eventually be an Arsenal player. West Ham can afford to force Arsenal to pay as much as they want because Rice and his representatives are not pressurizing West Ham.

On the contrary, Arsenal can afford to play the waiting game and force West Ham to lower their price because there is no bidding war since Arsenal is the only team with an offer on the table and Rice has made it very clear that he only wants to join Arsenal.

Both clubs know this deal will go through but it is all about who concedes first.

Currently Arsenal's main targets are Rice, Havertz, Timber and Lavia.

Rice and Timber would be great signings, but generally not sure that these are players who will bridge the gap to a title winning side, beyond just adding squad depth. Let's see what happens, still early.

Pathetic but expected.

Arsenal never act like a big club on transfer, its shameful and the reason why clubs hike up prices. Clubs find Arsenal insulting to deal with.

It's same on player sales, neves (1 Yr left on contract) gone to Saudi for 45M

Partey (2 years left on contract) - watch Arsenal sell for about 30M

Lavia long term would be a good signing, but asking a 19 year old kid to go from relegation fighting to playing CL and expecting a title challenge is completely different.

Havertz is garbage, Arteta wants a so called more attacking player to replace xhaka, havertz XG is in top 5 worst in PL (Jesus and Eddie are in top 5), his creative stats aren't great.

Then defensively he would offer nothing, no physicality, no tracking back etc.. which means the "cover job" xhaka did for Zinchenko won't be there. So Arsenal will get bullied physically and teams will expose Arsenal's left side even more then last season.

Havertz will be used like bernado/ gundogan. He's not on either players level going forward, physically or in doing dirty work etc...

Arsenal have agreed a deal with Chelsea worth around £65m for Germany international forward Kai Havertz.

It is understood the clubs have made an agreement in principle that will allow the player to discuss personal terms and have a medical.

The fee for Havertz, who scored nine goals in 47 games for the Blues last season, could rise with add-ons.

Havertz, 24, joined Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020 for a deal worth about £71m.

He also scored the winning goal for Chelsea in the 2021 Champions League final against Manchester City.

Havertz is set to move across London as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his Arsenal team following qualification for the Champions League.

Arsenal are also chasing England midfielder Declan Rice, the West Ham captain, but a second bid for the 24-year-old - worth up to £90m - was rejected on Tuesday.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are seeking to reduce their squad size and have also agreed a £30m deal with Manchester City for Croatia midfielder Mateo Kovacic, 29. Another midfielder, France international N'Golo Kante, 32, has agreed to sign for Saudi Arabian champions Al-Ittihad when his contract expires at the end of June.

The new ownership at Chelsea want to avoid letting players enter the final two years of their deals and Havertz, whose contract runs out in 2025, has not agreed an extension at the club.

Fantastic signing, Havertz will be a brilliant player for Arsenal fulfill his potential. Few years down the line, he will be remembered as yet another great player that slipped through Chelsea’s fingers.

Well done to Edu and Arteta for successfully negotiating his transfer. Now it is time to get Rice onboard.

Arsenal have been forced to pull their new home shirt from shelves while a "design error" is corrected by kit manufacturer Adidas.

The authentic home shirt, with a retail price of £110, has been made temporarily unavailable and Adidas has said supporters who had already purchased the 2023/24 jersey will be refunded.

The shirt honours Arsenal's 'Invincibles' season 20 years on from when Arsene Wenger's side went unbeaten throughout an entire Premier League campaign.

Within the design, the outcome of the 38 results is detailed with a row of W's and D's to highlight the wins and draws from the season.

However, the authentic shirt - that which is worn by the players on a matchday - only carried 32 of those results and has since been removed from sale.

"The 2023-24 Arsenal home authentic jerseys are temporarily unavailable while a design error is being corrected," Adidas said in a statement.

"We are working closely with the club and our partners to ensure restocked jerseys are available as soon as possible, and are offering full refunds to fans who have already bought one.

"This design error falls short of the standards we set ourselves as a brand, and we apologise to the club and its fans.

"The replica 'fan' version of the home jersey is unaffected and widely available now."

The 'fan' shirt is the same design but a cheaper option for supporters, retailing at £80 through Arsenal's official club shop.

:))) Yes just like Willian, David Luiz, jorghino all other Chelsea rubbish. Havertz will be next failure. in 2 years no one will want to pay 30M for him nor his 200K wages.

Will end up like pepe did

Kai Havertz is a great player.” - Klopp

“Havertz reminds me sometimes, a little, of Robin van Persie with his back to goal, the way he can hold the ball” - Henry

"I compare Havertz to Zinedine Zidane in terms of skills, technique and overview, and anticipating a situation.” - Lothar Matthaus

“We’ve had many good players through the history of the club at Bayer Leverkusen, but Kai Havertz is the best of them all.” - Rudi Voller (ex Leverkusen coach and current director of German Football Association.

“Kai Havertz is an extremely good player. If not, at that age, a top talent in Europe. He has such good skills and of course we at Bayern always want to have the players with the best skills.” - Muller

“I think very few coaches wouldn’t want to have Kai Havertz in their team.” - Hansi Flick

“For me, Havertz has the elegance of Zidane. If you see his movement, he’s very elegant, he’s always calm, he has great passing ability.” - Marcel Daum (Leverkusen assistant coach)

Arteta has a diamond in his hands. A diamond who went to the wrong club at the wrong time and lost his way, but he is still only 24 and Arsenal under Arteta is the ideal platform for him to fulfill his amazing potential and become the player he was destined to be.

Only tool here is you 🤡. You post some random article "sources tell us" and all of sudden thats the gospel and truth.

Stop talking 💩 both ur aliases continue to post same style of nonsical posts.

Same copy paste garbage, go login to your other account now and reply.

A grown man using fake accounts, to make a point.

Still no “sources” from you to prove otherwise, I wonder why that would be???
Come on genius, back up your statements with some viable evidence.
My source was a BBC article that confirmed Leverkusen were yet to make a bid. It was carried by other publishers.
Nothing has changed to date, aside from Munich now showing interest and Arsenal looking at around £22m as a possible transfer fee.

Your losing the plot and your delusional thinking I would have a second account as Mamoon. As I stated before I joined PP 5 years before Mamoon did.
Let that sink in numpty.

Have you asked Arteta how he plans to use Havertz?? More made up garbage from yourself.
Havertz best position is somewhere between a traditional number 9 and a number 10.
He’s going to be used much further forward than Xhaka and is no way a replacement for him.
Arteta is aware that he needs to continue to evolve the playing style and Havertz will provide some very interesting options in that regard.

However no point going into details of this with you as currently your struggling to grasp footballing basics.

Oh the "BBC" are so reliable for news aren't they. Again your talking out of your rear end. It's just an article uve posted, yet a speculative article is proof according to you 🤡

Only numpty here is you, using same words and phrases under both your accounts. Internet troll at its best.

Who is this source at BBC would provided the info? What is she or he called? Numpty

More drivel from mamoons alias, nice copy and paste garbage that I've read before. Wetting your underpants over a mediocre failure. Hilarious a grown adult has now troll under 2 accounts.

Arteta turned Auba / laca and Pete into mediocre players after Emery got them playing well, but hey Arteta is going turm havertz into prime Messi.

Chelsea fans laughing at yet another cast off going to Arsenal.

Arsenal's priorities are bizarre.

Havertz's stock has fallen off a cliff due to his failures at Chelsea but the club have not only brought him for twice of what's he's actually worth (£25-£30m max) but also got this over the line before securing Rice.

Can someone explain to me why have we prioritised the signing Havertz over Rice? Havertz had his heart set on Arsenal and considering the fact that his stock has fallen massively since the Bundesliga days, we could've easily brought him for a cut price.

This is so baffling and quite frankly stupid.

Chelsea have screwing over Arsenal once again. It happened with Lassana Diarra, Cech, David Luiz, Willian and now history will repeat itself with Havertz.

Anyone who still believes in Edu needs to give their a head good wobble.

Both clubs know this deal will go through but it is all about who concedes first.

The only reason why the other clubs haven't made a bid is because they all expected his proposed transfer to Arsenal to have reached its conclusion by now. But since this has yet to materialise, they can smell blood and are ready to pounce and hijack this transfer from Arsenal.

I believe Arsenal's 3rd bid will be rejected and then Rice will have a change of heart. He'll end up going elsewhere.

Let's go over the first two bids.

First bid was a flat fee of £80m. I mentioned last week this was not only an insulting offer but it also came as a surprise for Rice and his representatives.

The first bid was bad enough, so what does Edu? He offers £75m plus £15m of target based add-ons which West Ham don't believe are realistic for him to accomplish and therefore leaves them fuming. So effectively we actually went from £80m to £75m. It's beyond disbelief.

I'm about 80% sure that transfer won't happen because West Ham are probably even less likely to come up with a comprise as we've clearly upset them. They have every right to feel aggrieved as well.

If you're short of time, all I ask is for you to address the following paragraph (in bold):

I knew Edu was bad but now I've realised that he's actually worse than what I expected. I know you rate him but surely even you cannot defend how he's gone about his negotiations with West Ham? To go from a guaranteed transfer fee of £80m to £75m is simply indefensible. You would never see Man U, Man City, Chelsea or even Liverpool pull off something like this.

I consider you to be very knowledge regarding footballing matters but I really don't understand the optimism you have in Edu as our sporting director.

Looks like this is what's going to happen.

If Partey wants the move there's no reason why we shouldn't be asking for minimum £55m. Imagine how much this would help us in acquiring other players.

£30m for a Saudi club is a steal.

topspin

Please don’t forget that it was Edu who convince Real Madrid to sell Odegaard to Arsenal for £30m only.

Every Sporting Director makes more bad calls than good calls. That is the nature of the business, but only Arsenal fans focus on the negatives.

Arsenal have built a team that almost won the PL last season and will once again be fighting for the title next season. Let’s not pretend that Edu has not played a small role in Arsenal’s resurrection.

The Arteta-Edu partnership is the best thing to happen to Arsenal since Wenger and David Dein.

As far as the Rice deal is concerned, it will go through for the reasons that I mentioned in one of my previous posts.

The biggest roadblock so far is the structure of payments and the add-ons. As per reports, West Ham want the upfront fee to paid in 2 installments while Arsenal are insisting on 4. Secondly, as you mentioned, West Ham do not deem the add-ons realistic.

They are most probably tied to Arsenal winning the league or the UCL etc. It is West Ham’s opinion that these add-ons are unrealistic. Arsenal have the right to negotiate.

You mentioned that United, City or Liverpool would not have done this, but United are doing the same exact same thing with Mason Mount and it is not surprising because the two situations are very similar.

The player (Rice/Mount) has agreed personal terms and is not talking to and is not interested in moving elsewhere.

West Ham/Chelsea can afford to demand a high fee because the player is not putting enough pressure on the club to accept the bid and Arsenal/United can afford to negotiate because there is no bidding war.

Rice will 100% be an Arsenal player.

£30m for a Saudi club is a steal.

Saudis are throwing money around for fun. Arsenal should be asking for 60M if they are stupid enough to sell him. Instead 30M for a player with 2 years on his contract is nothing. What exactly is that 30M going to help Arsenal with.

Never mind the priorities Arsenal just made their 2nd most expensive transfer mistake ever.

Chelsea were desperate to sell, why because they need vast majority of transfer sales to go through before 30th June so it falls under same ffp cycle. So why are Arsenal so eager to throw Chelsea so much money. They could have waited another week till 29th and gone here you are he's 40M take it or leave and Chelsea would have to accept. Chelsea are in a position. Where they could drag transfers out. So what does Edu do make Chelsea a quick offer and done.

Yet at same time drag rice and other deals out its ret*arded at best. What will happen now is havertz will flop, no one will want to pay for a 2 team PL failure and no one will be stupid enough to pay his wages.

All those doing bhangra over fraudeta saying he will improve havertz. Just remember one thing look at how quickly Arteta gets disinterested in a player if after 6 months etc. . They ain't performing, rather then working on it he has a habit of cold shouldering player and he's done that with plenty in his 3.5 years

Look at players like AMN, Leno, laca, tavares, Mari, lakonga, Vieira etc.. who one minute he's trying out and then as soon as few bad games kick in they are no longer trusted. Same will happen with havertz

Havertz is a strange one.

He's struggled to score goals at Chelsea and has hardly set the world alight since coming to England.

Arteta clearly needs his eyes testing.

Worse thing is all Arsenal fans stag havertz off for being rubbish

As soon as Arteta signs him it's "oh if arteta wants him I'm happy" "he was misused at Chelsea,"

Why because they want to be seen as "positive fans" reality is its being a sheep with no backbone

Same Arsenal fans who criticized the signing of Ramsdale, White and Odegaard are now complaining about Havertz. They don’t have a clue.

He will be brilliant for Arsenal. The Arsenal system will bring the best out of him.

I'm an Arsenal fan with high standards and don't support mediocrity and failure.

Under Arteta Arsenal have failed to make into europe for 1st time in 20 plus years, bottled europa league, bottled top 4 and bottled title.

But according to you he's best young manager because of all those pathetic achievements. Delusion at its finest

You have basically said he has made progress each season🤦*♂️

Arteta has a diamond in his hands. A diamond who went to the wrong club at the wrong time and lost his way, but he is still only 24 and Arsenal under Arteta is the ideal platform for him to fulfill his amazing potential and become the player he was destined to be.

As a united fan I actually fear this.
Many many forwards have failed at Chelsea and they have misused havertz anyway.
He has a long list of attributes and can play the xhaka role against weaker teams, false 9, either wing, 2nd striker, and a number 10.

Jorginho set to stay at Arsenal amid Lazio interest

Jorginho is determined to stay and fight for his place at Arsenal despite interest from Lazio, the Evening Standard reports.

The midfielder only joined the Gunners in January with a surprise move from Chelsea but Napoli and AC Milan are said to be monitoring him.

Arsenal are set to overhaul their midfield this summer with the departures of Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey, but Jorginho reportedly has no intention of leaving.

You have basically said he has made progress each season🤦*♂️

Progress? The guy finished 8th so dragged Arsenal into positions through hadn't been in since the early mid 90s, so obviously after dragging a team that low finishing higher to some dim wits it would be so called Progress 🤦*♂️🤦*♂️ I swear some people are dense!

Manchester City have decided to bid for Declan Rice after calling West Ham last Friday to be informed 🚨🔵 #MCFC

Man City also checked player’s side — understand Rice is open to any move so deal depends on the clubs now.

Arsenal, planning to bid again since last week. ⚪🔴 #AFC (Fabrizio Romano)

I thought no clubs were bidding for Rice, and man city didn't want Rice.

City have sign kovacic as rotation option with Rodri. They want Rice to replace gudogan.

What your excuses going to be when he joins city?

As a united fan you should be more worried about your player signing similar garbage player in mount.

Arsenal competing with Milan on who can bave a worse transfer window while City go further ahead and Newcastle are strengthening massively :))

As a city fan I will be so happy if we get Rice.
We will won many more trophies with him.

West ham want a midfielder they have enquired about ESR, mctominay and Philips.

Both united and City will offer west ham the player they want plus cash. Arsenal rightly refused ESR.

However Edus go slow will back fire again no rice, no caciedo

Rest of Arsenal fan base better get ready for a midfield 3 of Jorginho, havertz and oddegard getting gang banged every other game

Manchester City have decided to bid for Declan Rice and will rival Arsenal in pushing to sign the midfielder from West Ham. City have been in contact with West Ham and the player’s representatives and believe Rice would be willing to join them if a deal can be struck.

Arsenal are planning a third offer for Rice after a second bid, which fell short of the minimum £100m asking price, was rejected on Tuesday. The offer was of £75m plus £15m in add-ons which West Ham believe will be difficult to achieve.

City are losing Ilkay Gündogan to Barcelona on a free and although they have agreed a deal to buy Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea for £25m plus £5m in add-ons they want to further strengthen in midfield.

Arsenal remain confident of winning the race for Rice, for whom there has been no approach from Manchester United. Arsenal are also working on a deal for the Ajax defender Jurriën Timber. The 22-year-old Netherlands international is keen on the move and an agreement on personal terms is close. Negotiations between the clubs would follow.

Manchester City currently want to offer £75m in two instalments plus £15m in add-ons for Declan Rice, which are thought to be realistically achievable. This is understood to be a better overall package than Arsenal’s previous rejected bid, who offered the same amount of money but in several instalments & less achievable bonuses.

City acting like a big club and offer West ham 2 installments what they want.

So Rice will go to Man City. Edu will panic and go back in for caciedo. Brighton knowing how desperate Arsenal are will now probably demand 100M+ -

Well done Arsenal on another epic failure on getting primary targets.

City failed to convince Gundogan to extend, so they are trying their luck with Rice now. Arsenal fans should not worry - Rice is a man of his word, and he has already verbally committed to Arsenal.

He will not sign for Man City or any other club as long as Arsenal can match their offer to West Ham. He has rejected Bayern for Arsenal and he will reject City for Arsenal.

There is nothing to worry about. Arsenal would match Man City’s offer and Rice would sign for Arsenal.

:)) comedy gold.

1) Gudogan has won Everything he can at City, nothing for him to prove. Him and his family wanted to go to Barca for a culture change and new Challenge

2) Rice is man of his word, same guy who changed from Ireland to England 🤣 he's a flip from you

3) City have offered payment in 2 installments - Arsenal wanted to pay 4 or 6

4) City offered realistic and achievable add ons for additional 15M, Arsenal haven't done that

Do you want hard boiled, scrambled, poached egg for your face? 🤭

1. You are giving me reasons for why Gundogan decided to leave. I’m simply telling you that City wanted to extend his contract but he said no.

2. That has nothing to do with the fact that he has proved himself to be a very loyal player to West Ham and has never forced his way out of the club. He has also agreed personal terms with Arsenal and he will not walk back on his agreement.

3. Arsenal will match whatever City offers. They are not going to offer an absurd sum because they are not desperate to sign him.

4. Add-ons are not an issue at all. Clubs can get very creative with add-ons etc. It is not simply a case of achievable vs non-achievable.

5. I personally enjoy scrambled eggs cooked in butter, but those eggs will come your way when Rice signs for Arsenal, Havertz proves to be a major success and Arteta makes Arsenal PL champions within 2-3 seasons if not earlier.

City matched Arsenal's offer straight away, they also offered better payment structure. This is about paying absurd money, this is about give west ham the majority of the fee within 2 years.

With Arsenal's stupid add ons west ham won't ge getting much more then 75M

With City's add ons west ham will get closer to 90M

It's all about penny pinching at Arsenal, small club mentality. With delusional fans like you are happy to twerk for mediocrity.

Arteta will make Arsensl PL champions within 2-3 years? 🤣 so basically after 5 or 6 years in charge. Yet another flip flop! Where's all the if he don't win title this season he should be made accountable.

You always change your excuses and criteria every time you eat humble pie

Please don’t forget that it was Edu who convince Real Madrid to sell Odegaard to Arsenal for £30m only.

Every Sporting Director makes more bad calls than good calls. That is the nature of the business, but only Arsenal fans focus on the negatives.

Arsenal have built a team that almost won the PL last season and will once again be fighting for the title next season. Let’s not pretend that Edu has not played a small role in Arsenal’s resurrection.

Buying Odegaard for £30m did turn out to be a masterstroke but not because of Edu. The credit goes to Arteta for spotting him and helping him raise his game. When he was at Madrid his career was heading towards decline after how much he was hyped up during his teenage years. He was worth £30m at the time when Arsenal signed him despite being underwhelming during his loan spell prior to joining us.

The Arteta-Edu partnership is the best thing to happen to Arsenal since Wenger and David Dein.

Even if this does turn out to be true, this is the worst timing to say this. With the way it's looking, you'll have to retract this statement very soon.

Edu is about to lose us Declan Rice. According to Fabrizio Ramano, Declan Rice will now go to any club. This means is heart has changed. This is what I was telling you yesterday because I knew this was going to happen.

The problem now is we cannot compete with City, Man U and Chelsea. Those three clubs have more chance of signing him than Arsenal do.

You mentioned that United, City or Liverpool would not have done this, but United are doing the same exact same thing with Mason Mount and it is not surprising because the two situations are very similar.

The player (Rice/Mount) has agreed personal terms and is not talking to and is not interested in moving elsewhere.

Mount is another Chelsea player who's stock has fallen but not as much as it has done for Havertz because he's done alright for Chelsea.

Rice on the other hand is a great player who's genuinely worth £100m and is worth every penny. The stats shown below back this up:

WhatsApp Image 2023-06-22 at 17.35.29.jpg

You can't compare how Utd are dealing with a player who's currently a Chelsea flop to a rising star who's a future England captain at the peak of his powers.

The case of Mount is simply not analogous to the one of Rice.

I really don't understand why we couldn't wait on Havertz. All of our time and energy should've gone into Rice.

But now it looks like Arsenal have lost us Rice, Caicedo, Partey and Xhaka. If Partey goes and we fail to sign Rice and Caicedo, say goodbye to top 4 let alone mounting a title challenge.

I agree Havertz will end up on the bench and end up in Germany as another German PL flop like his friend Werner.

Saudis are throwing money around for fun. Arsenal should be asking for 60M if they are stupid enough to sell him. Instead 30M for a player with 2 years on his contract is nothing. What exactly is that 30M going to help Arsenal with.

Bring another Fabio Vieira I guess and for the likes of immy, migy, firebat and etc to clap their hands and do bhangra

I like ESR and want him to stay but the last thing I want is for us to lose out on Rice and see him go to City.

If it means we have to give up ESR to secure Rice, we should do it.

Edu has to be the worst transfer negotiator I've ever come across.

So any good signing is because of Arteta and every good player that Arsenal has failed to sign is because of Edu’s poor negotiating skills. This is what an agenda looks like.

Arteta can spot targets but it is Edu’s job to get it over the line and negotiate with the club. Convincing Madrid to sign-off Odegaard’s sale for 30 million was his achievement.

It is a myth to say that Mount had a better season than Havertz and his stock has not fallen as much as Havertz.

Havertz was by far the best attacking player for Chelsea last season.

Most goals - Havertz
Most shots on target - Havertz
Most chances created - Havertz
Most aerial duels won - Havertz
Most possession won in the final third - Havertz
Most passes in the final third - Havertz
Most duels won - Havertz

Complete domination. This is why Arteta wanted him.

Mount is nowhere to be found. The reason why Havertz gets hounded by the media while Mount is protected is because of the typical English bias.

Switch their nationalities and Havertz suddenly becomes a creative genius who would be worth £100m and Mount becomes a flop who should be sold for £40m max.

It's City's to lose now.

Arsenal are about to lose us Rice, Caicedo, Partey and Xhaka.

Absolute shambles. If our midfield is Jorgino, Havertz and Odegaard, welcome back to Europe League football.

Xhaka doesn't want to stay and his deal to Leverkusen is already done, Partey being offered to other clubs will just make him more eager to leave.

So no Rice, no Caciedo.

Zinchenko will be used in midfield in plan B, some mediocre young midfielder will be signed. Havertz will be the "marquee" summer signing.

I said all this for years Edu is a fraud and Arsenal will go backwards once again and last season will be just a flash in the pan.

Both Havertz and Rice are top players. The difference is that Rice was at the right club with the right environment.

Rice would also struggle and considered a flop if he was playing for a club that would insist on playing him as an attacking midfielder.

Chelsea have tried to convert Havertz into a number 9 when he is very clearly an attacking midfielder or a second striker at best.

Arsenal will utilize him as an attacking midfielder on the left hand side in tandem with Odegaard and he will showcase his true potential.

This is a massive coup by the club.

There's no agenda against Edu. His incompetence is there for everyone to see at present with how he's choked on Rice (pun intended).

I didn't say Mount had a better season than Havertz. When I said "Mount has been alright for Chelsea", I was alluding to the fact that he's much better for his club in comparison to the German. That's a fact. There's no pro-English bias there.

Lets see what Havertz can do at Arsenal. I reckon he'll flop and end up being a bench player.

That couldn’t be further from the truth. Havertz has been significantly better than Mount. It is proven both by the eye test and by statistics. Watch Chelsea’s matches last season and it is very easy to conclude that Havertz is making things happen while Mount runs around looking busy but doing nothing, a protype English midfielder.

I really wish we bought Maddison instead. The only rational Arteta could have for not signing him is because his profile is far too similar to Odegaard.

I have to say I'm really surprised he hasn't been signed yet by any of the big clubs.

I am not that conman Fabrizio Romano who tries to take credit for David Ornstein’s work, but my stance has not changed in light of the information that is available to me.

Rice has agreed terms with Arsenal and he doesn’t want to leave London. If Arsenal matches City’s bid, he will join Arsenal irrespective of City throwing the treble in his face and Pep shining his bald head.

Rice is not one of those players who would chase trophies over personal development. If he did, he would have left West Ham earlier. He is not a tool like Kalvin Phillips who destroyed his career.

Havertz has the potential to be a world class player. Maddison is a good player but he will never be top tier, but most big clubs including Arsenal would be more than happy to have him as a bench option.

The reason why Arsenal, City, Chelsea, Liverpool and United haven’t bought him is because Leicester is asking in excess of £50m which is more than what these clubs would like to play for a player who will be strictly used as a backup.

This is why he will most likely go to clubs with a smaller profile like Spurs and Newcastle. He will be a starter there and it is a major step up from Leicester.

The problem is:

1. Rice's heart has changed because he's now fed up with the time it's taken for Arsenal to get his signing finalised

2. City will outbid Arsenal even if it means they have to break their record because they won't let Arsenal close the gap on them (as they should).

I trust Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein when it comes to their sources and it's looking bleak now.

It would be funny if Zinchenko ended up benching Havertz in his midfield position :)))

Arteta as he has no tactical ideas of his own and no plan B, is basically looking to copy Man City's 3-2-4-1 formation

So 3 CBs will come from Tierney, kiwor, Saliba, Gabriel or white

Then he was look at Rice plus someone else doing the "John Stones role" - so either zinchenko / timber or even using lavia next to Rice

The 4 infront would be Martinelli or trossard - shitvertz, oddegard and saka

Jesus up front

But now with no Rice, no caciedo he may have to resort to Zinchenko and lavia as double pivot

So Arsenal will be scraping 4 or 5th spot next season

As a united fan I actually fear this.
Many many forwards have failed at Chelsea and they have misused havertz anyway.

I don’t think City would get into a bidding war with Arsenal. They obviously can because they have far great financial resources, but they are not going to chase someone that they don’t desperately require.

I expect one “take it or leave it” offer to West Ham and they won’t lose sleep if Arsenal match that offer and Rice decides to sign for Arsenal.

Only clueless person is here, but let's see what copy paste rubbish you produce next. You harped on like a 🤡 that Havertz is best as a number 9 / 10, when there are reports saying he will use him as xhaka replacement as a left sided 8.

Your football knowledge could be written on back of a postage stamp you numpty.

Numpty
So still no evidence of Leverkusen having officially made an offer for Xhaka.
If it is a “speculative” article you would have no trouble in posting a number of articles that proved your story.
Let’s face reality, the rest of it is pure deflection on your part because you got caught with your trousers down.
Playing the man not the ball in football parlance, to hide your embarrassment.

So as far as “my source” is concerned.
First of all, muppet, it’s not my source but an article on the web that I linked to prove no bid had been made.
That article referenced a report in the BBC, also linked, which was written by Alex Howell.
Quite clearly and categorically stating that Arsenal were yet to receive a bid for Xhaka.
That article was published on the 17/06 which was 9 days after the post you linked from Romano.
A link, may I add, that only stated Xhaka and Leverkusen had agreed personal terms. No mention of any bids.

From this you set about unleashing hatred at Edu / Arteta for being afraid of selling Xhaka because they were incompetent to get a replacement in.

They're doing it to stop Arsenal being a threat like Barca used to

I agree. Arsenal have rattled City. Pep knows he got away this season but can’t every time, and Arsenal will be his main rival for the next few seasons.

Arteta turned Auba / laca and Pete into mediocre players after Emery got them playing well, but hey Arteta is going turm havertz into prime Messi.

But he managed to get a younger, less experienced squad of players to finish runners up?
Oh I get it, these young players must have been elite level - better than Messi even, but Arteta has reduced their skill levels such that instead of finishing the season with a 100% win record they barely managed a second place.
What an absolute numpty!!

Keep your gay fantasies to yourself talking about people with their pants down. No one wants to know what sort of weirdo things go through your mind you muppet.

You keep Barking like a dog in the wind with same repetitive nonsense, so because an article is on the BBC that's the truth and any other news outlets are lies? 🤣 *****

Romano had said numerous times the deal is done and in place. I'd rather listen to a decent source like him, then a Internet troll like you.
As expected nothing to counter points raised as you have truly been humiliated.

He managed two 8th places finished and bottling Europa league, bottling top 4 and then bottling the title. Good return after spending over 500M and 20+ new players

But hey both your weirdo aliases repeat the same repetitive garbage and like over hyping mediocrity

Only numpty here is you Internet troll

Atleast come up with something new rather then copy pasted nonsense

Saudis are throwing money around for fun. Arsenal should be asking for 60M if they are stupid enough to sell him. Instead 30M for a player with 2 years on his contract is nothing. What exactly is that 30M going to help Arsenal with.
Numpty, the above is what is called layman’s speculation.
Just so you get an idea of what speculation actually means.
