Jorginho MOTM. For the second game running, he's been Arsenal's best player.
I would be very annoyed to see him on the bench when Partey is next available.
Let see what Arteta does when hes got that tough decision to make. Partey and Jorginho would just give Arsenal some much more balance in midfield and potency going forward.
It won't be easy for Arteta because him and Xhaka get on really well. It's also difficult because Xhaka has the presence of a leader but it's obvious that he's not as good as Jorginho.
Best weekend of results Arsenal could hope for
Let’s take it step by step instead of dreaming of the title.
Our first priority is to ensure that we cannot be knocked out of champion’s league spots for next season. I think we are 70% there
We can then think about mounting a title charge at the end.
Well he can stop hiding again now for a little while, plastic fair weather support that he is.
Title race is over. Mamoon Even you have to admit our season is done.
I won't be surprised if we crumble further from here and end up finishing 3rd because no one in this Arsenal team is playing with any confidence.
None of them besides Saka looks assertive. It's all very hesitant and indecisive on and off the ball.
We're playing so many loose passes and struggling defensively. We look like a shadow of what were until the halfway mark in this season.
Need a positive Leicester result against Man U for this to be best weekend.
I think United in any case will qualify top 4
They are not title contenders. Only City are the main threat
Does it help to say we all support the same team... I doubt it)
Says the guy who wanted Arteta sacked last season and has zero faith in the team all season. You can’t make it up.)
Arsenal will win the league this season. I will make sure you don’t get to celebrate when it happens because I won’t let you breathe with all the posts that I will bump.
We do, but some fans like Amjid Javed were so aggressive and vocal with their Arteta out campaign that they have nowhere to hide now.
It is more important for them to see Arsenal capitulate so that they can beat their chests and say “I told you so” than to see Arsenal win the league.
Yes the title race is over because Arsenal have it in the bag. It was signed, sealed and delivered after the wins against Spurs and United.
In spite of the recent bad results, I haven’t had any doubts because City are not capable of being consistent this season. I saw nothing special in them when they fluked the win at the Emirates last week.
City can win the “we beat Arsenal at Emirates” trophy. Arsenal will win the Premier League.
You and Firebat are the only two people in this threads whose posts I will not bump come the end of the season. Everyone else should duck for cover because I will come out all guns blazing.

What are you on about? You have been wrong every season since Arteta became manager of Arsenal.
Arsenal fans have proved you wrong so many times on PP that I literally have to say nothing.
The less said about your predictions the better.
You only come out of the wood works when Arsenal win or salvage a points deficit.
Skill is saying you hate England but support an English club because your mates said so.

City is a nothing team this season. Arsenal will take care of them at the fortress. Stop being scared.
Does it help to say we all support the same team... I doubt it)
Also, there is no absolutely no evidence that City will take 6 points off Arsenal based on how they teams have played this season. Results from previous seasons when Arsenal was a completely different outfit in terms of personnel, tactics, mentality, fitness etc. mean nothing.
I see more comments about Mamoon here than Arsenal![]()
So Man city's win was now a fluke according to one Arsenal fan)
Every other Arsenal fan was humble enough to give City credit. One sore loser was full of excuse. Plenty of humble pie and egg on his face.
Credit for what?
For establishing the following three records?
Lowest possession in a game in the Pep era
Lowest number of passes attempted in a game in the Pep era
Lowest completion rate of successfully passes in a game in the Pep era
Arsenal took very good care of City. Made them look like a bottom-half team who couldn’t touch the ball and had to resort to counter-attacks.
It was a fluke result because City were completely outplayed. Arsenal gifted them two goals due to silly backpasses.
No team in the world can take the ball off City. Yet, they couldn’t take the ball off Arsenal. This is the Arteta effect, the best manager in the world right now. What he has done with Arsenal is nothing short of a miracle.
Thankfully, the board didn’t listen to impatient and ignorant fans like you last season and gave him a new contract when you wanted him sacked.
Moreover, citing past results means nothing. City has dominated Arsenal over the past 3-4 seasons, but this is a different Arsenal team with different mindset. Arteta has changed everything at this club.
Arteta and his players do not deserve fans like you who have no faith in the team. “Fans” who are too scared. You would fear losing the league even if Arsenal needs 1 point with 3 games to go. That is how non-existent your faith is in the team.
If Arteta and his players had your mentality they would not be in this position. As I said, please don’t pretend to celebrate when Arsenal win the league. You don’t deserve to.

Gents - I know we want to make points but do not get personal or name call each other. It's not nice for others to read and looks bad.

I don’t know why it is so hard for you to understandable a simple point. You are not that slow.
Yes it is correct that Arsenal have lost 11 consecutive league games against City. However, how many of the current players have contributed to all of those defeats? No one except Xhaka.
Arteta has revamped the squad over the last couple of years both in terms of personnel and also in terms of how they play, the mental and physical conditioning of the players.
There is no way this crop of players would lose 11 consecutive matches to City.
Yes this is a different Arsenal team and this is why it is top of the table after 23 games.
Furthermore, if you think Pep does not care about the fact that his team had 30% possession and could barely make two passes in a row, you clearly don’t know him.
Pep not just cares about winning but he wants to win his way. This is why he is the most influential manager in modern football. This is why in spite of winning the match, he was not happy with the performance. He knew Arsenal dominated his side.
There is nothing that separates the first-team of Arsenal and City now. Arteta has built a team that is on par with City’s starting XI and capable of dominating the ball against them like no other team in the country can.
I did not go into hiding because Arsenal had a few bad results. Like I said before the Brentford game, Arsenal will have a dip.
You can’t expect them to win every game, however, City is not the same team anymore and incapable of going on the type of winning streaks that they did over the previous seasons. This is why, Arsenal will hold onto their lead.
I did not post after the Brentford game because I knew that shortsighted and ignorant fans like you (who wanted Arteta sacked last season) would be throwing tantrums and claiming that the league is gone.
Speaking of going into hiding, I’m sure you will not be around these threads when Arsenal win the league in May. You are actively praying and hoping for Arsenal to fall short and you can celebrate but too bad, that is not happen.
Arsenal will win the league this season and I have already placed orders for eggs and tomatoes not only for you but for so many other posters. No one will be spared from my wrath come May.![]()

Easy with the trolling.
Best to put in good arguments which are informative.

What did you make of Villa’s showing? we are stuck in the mid table forever![]()
Arsenal have also started contract extension talks with 30-year-old Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka, who is keen to remain at Emirates Stadium. (90min)

I want to see the following changes against Leicester:
Tierney - LB
Martinelli - CF
Jorginho or Zinchenko to replace Xhaka (if Partey is back fit)
Zinchenko always ends up in Xhaka's position. I think his inverted style at LB is hampering Trossard/Martinelli who will always end up being isolated. Tierney is a better defender and he can deliver better crosses. But more importantly he can provide better support to the LWF.
Xhaka is untouchable right now. Not only is he playing brilliantly, his presence on the pitch is hugely important. He is a big character who drives the team, fights for the team and uplifts the fans.
Tierney is a good LB but his Arsenal career is done and dusted in my opinion. He is not winning the LB race because Zinchenko brings so much to the table in spite of being a dodgy defender.
Having Zinchenko at LB basically means you are playing with an extra midfielder and forward, and his presence adds a whole different dimension to Arsenal’s attack.
Xhaka’s long-term replacement could be Charlie Patino. This kid has world class potential and could have a Saka level impact once he is integrated in the first-team.

100 % spot on analysis.
If Leicester give us as much space as they gave United, it should be a cakewalk for Martinelli and Saka.
and what about Fabio Vieira against Sporting? I honestly think he'll smoke them just watch.
I've seen Xhaka play recently and his levels have dropped. I appreciate it might just be a dip in form but I think Jorginho is better.
Zinchenko isn't a natural LB. It's a Guardiola innovation which works for Man City. I'm not sure if it'll work for Arsenal in the long run. Remember he doesn't play LB for Ukraine. He plays CAM instead. I don't understand why he ends up drifting into Xhaka's position. It makes us vulnerable on the left wing not just defensively but also going forward.
I think Arsenal need to rest a few key players for the Fulham game. So Against sporting they should play
Turner, Tomi, saliba, kiwor, Zinchenko, Jorginho, xhaka, Vieira, ESR, Trossard, Martinelli
Fulham away is a real fight. Why would you want to rest key players? For me, Arsenal should take Europa lightly
Why was the goal disallowed?
Can't believe that was disallowed![]()
