Edu and Arteta took Arsenal from 5th to 2nd. This 8th place is nonsense, Arteta took the club backwards at 1st. So stop making out as though that was his starting point.
In regards to Rice, Arsenal once in a while make a so called marquee signing. Ozil, sanchez, partey, Rice. These are few are far between and nothing more then signings to show fake ambition, as pretty much there after these signings the kronkes revert back to type with the penny pinch and then self sustaining rubbish the kronkes have always had in place. One summer of splashing CL cash may have fooled you and others. It didn't to those who have common sense.
You know the biggest reason Arteta will fail? No accountability or Ambition from the owners. Josh kronke, Edu, Arteta, oddegard can run their mouths want all summer about Ambition, but facts are their is no accountability to failure.
If Arteta was at Real, Barca, Bayern, City he would be told he needs to win either the league or CL, these clubs would make sure if he didn't deliver he would be sacked. When a person knows their job is on the line if they fail, they soon let go of the ego, silly mistake and stop managing like its a computer game.
Arteta knows unless he doesn't make top 4, he ain't getting sacked. Trophies is a bonus if he wins them. That poor mindset through whole club is why when it comes to fine margins it fails.
If Arteta knew his balls were in a gilotine if he failed at Arsenal, we might have actually won a title by now.
That principle works in any form of employment. The more your scrutised the more likely you are to push yourself to succeed.

Arsenal was languishing at 8th when Emery was sacked. The club was rock bottom in terms of culture and connection with the fans. You had several lazy players on fat contracts.
Arteta rebuild everything piece by piece and there is no doubt that the last couple of years have been the period at the club in a very long time.
I will once again emphasize that winning FA Cup/League Cup when you are not competing in the league isn’t good enough.
Look at Ten Hag. United sacked him in spite of two cups in two seasons because he wasn’t competing for the title.
Wenger won 3 FA Cups in his last 4 years but Arsenal fans including you wanted him out because it was clear that he was unable to fight for the league.
Arteta hasn’t won any trophies in a long time but he has Arsenal fighting to win the league which is a huge step forward for Arsenal. He is the reason why Arsenal fans are dreaming of winning the league and he is the reason why finishing 2nd will feel disappointing. He raised the bar, the standards.
He took a club that got used to failure and celebrated 4th place like a trophy. He took them from that point to today where anything less than a title win feels underwhelming.
You are referencing other clubs like Real, Barca, City, Bayern etc. but you have to understand that the dynamics are different. All of these clubs have won a lot and have been very successful in recent past, so they can’t have same level of patience.
They didn’t spend 20 years without winning a league and didn’t hit rock bottom like Arsenal did. They didn’t reach a point where they started celebrating 4th place like an achievement.
At Arsenal, you can expect the club to go from that point to the top overnight. It is a process and you have to be patient and this patience with Arteta has paid dividends.
Had Arsenal showed lack of patience with Arteta, they would have gone through 3-4 different managers in the last few years and the club would be in the same spot like Chelsea and United.
Arteta is the only difference between Arsenal and Chelsea/United even though they have more financial resources than Arsenal.
As far as the Kroenkes are concerned, they have shown ambition since taking full control of the club in 2018. If they were content with a top 4, they wouldn’t have sacked Emery because they realized that a manager like Emery will not be able to take Arsenal to the top. If they lacked ambition, they wouldn’t have approved a 100m+ transfer.
If you think Arteta should be sacked at the end of the season if he doesn’t win the league this time, that is fine. It is your opinion. However, you also need to suggest realistic alternatives who can drive the club forward and take the final step that Arteta hasn’t been able to so far.
Bear in mind that if you’re replacing him now, you risk falling backwards and undoing all the work that he has done. There is a strong possibility that the next manager doesn’t have what it takes and Arsenal end up falling behind Chelsea, United, Spurs etc.
Arteta is not my relative. I’m only concerned with the success of Arsenal and if it happens with someone else instead of Arteta, I couldn’t care less.
However, I am fully invested in his approach and I have no doubt that he will take Arsenal over the line eventually. If he could take Arsenal from where they were to where they are now, he can also take them forward from this point.
The majority of the fans and also the owners are fully behind him and trust him to put the final pieces of the jigsaw together and win the PL.
