Do refs not count Joelinton fouls? Partey did 2 and got a talking to. I've lost count.

Arsenal can still win the league.
A lot can change between now and the end of season, like Liverpool v Brighton at 3pm.
We created 1 chance in last seasons game here, and zero in game a few years ago when top 4 was bottled.Pathetic pathetic attacking display. Newcastle have done well defensively but this is one ground you don't want to go behind. We've made it easy for them.
Pope has not made a save. Absolutely horrible performance nothing else to it.
I think we have bigger issue than Havertz bro.We created 1 chance in last seasons game here, and zero in game a few years ago when top 4 was bottled.
We have a world class striker in out team, on 300K don't worry.
So Arteta wants to play Mourinho / simone type football, if your going to do that you still need cutting edge in final 3rd.I think we have bigger issue than Havertz bro.
Issue being we're playing terrible as a team. Game isn't over but I can tell ya we ain't scoring.
More likely ends 2-0
You mean no plan B after 5 years in charge?Arteta looks lost. He's making strange decisions.
Yep the profit made in summer, summed this clubs lack of AmbitionAfter we came so close last season it could have gone 2 ways.
Motivated to go again by signings that would have improved the squad.
Or being down hearted thinking we couldn't have done more.
The season has shown that we're void of ideas and don't have the players that would have improved us.
Firstly that's on the manager for not being able to motivate the players to go again. Secondly the lack of signings.
Money making Arsenal are well and truly back.
At least it won't be heartbreak in May this time.
Before someone says top 4.
I honestly don't care about top 4. Top 4 was meant to mean we are back and can go to the next step.
All it means it Kronkes line their pockets.
The only silver living this season is that people who criticized Odegaard will finally realize that he is Arsenal’s best player by a mile. He makes everything tick.
You mean no plan B after 5 years in charge?
@Geordie Ahmed - congrats Newcastle deserved the win.
Gordon was best player on pitch by some distance. Good goal from isak
Arsenal
Arteta - clueless team selection, tactics, and slow subs. Time for him to be sacked. Let's see how many fans continue to defend him.
Havertz highest played player and so called world class striker. again. @topspin @IMMY69 and Arteta cheerleader let's here excuses.
Merino was again I said this guy was average
Trossard should never play in midfield again
Rice was as well
Arsenal are scrapping for top 4 with Chelsea and villa.
The lack of fight was the most disappointing thing today. Apart from saka and the 2 CBs, no else seemed to want to put their foot in 50:50 challenges.Zero excuses from me.
I've been disappointed with our last few performances hence been a bit more quite on this thread... and today was not all that surprising
Before the game I had hope but didn't really have any high expectations.
I have told you many times that this season is finished. Arsenal just need to look at the two windows and invest in attack while ensuring that Saliba doesn’t leave. You can’t rely on your first xi . Arteta had the funding , in 5 years he’s not built a squad. Your players look knackered already , can’t blame them , no rest .
Inter & Chelsea away next . You could lose both
Btw why bring in sterling on 100k & he warms the bench when you need a goal ?
I said all along manager wasn't good enough. He's taken club as far as he can go. These owners won't sack him, the lack of ambition will always remainAnd when I say Arteta has taken Gooners as far as he can, i get blasted
He's already thrown towel in, only thing left is for him to admit Arteta ain't man for ArsenalIs the title in the bag yet?
Tbh. I've said several times that if we don't win it this season then it's time to move on. I stand by that. And when I say Arteta has taken Gooners as far as he can, i get blasted
And rightly so because that’s a rubbish take. You have to back Arteta to rebuild the team. If you sack him now you risk losing what you have. Small changes can have big impact, for example replacing Jesus and Martinelli with two proper attackers. And when I say Arteta has taken Gooners as far as he can, i get blasted

2 seasons in a row we've come here and had 1 shot on target. Its games like this which expose the lack of quality in final 3rd.
Once game was 1-0, I cudnt see us scoring unless saka did something.
We have Chelsea away next.
Is the title in the bag yet?
We rightly loaned Vieira, ESR went. So nwaneri was rightly kept, yet to then not play him was criminal.I don't see us recovering from this...
Could be 8 points behind after Liverpool and city have played...
I don't want to put pressure on him but Nwenari needs to start every game...
Plus we need Odeguard back asap.
Trossard shouldn't be starting any more games...
Bottom line is we are better than Newcastle.Zero excuses from me.
I've been disappointed with our last few performances hence been a bit more quite on this thread... and today was not all that surprising
Before the game I had hope but didn't really have any high expectations.
Only way to salvage it now would be to focus on the cups. Even that is not really good enough.Tbh. I've said several times that if we don't win it this season then it's time to move on. I stand by that.
Only disappointing thing is it's happened to early in the season.
Yeah a early afternoon wasted indeed, watching paint dry would have been better. Yep the last 2 away performances have been unacceptable. Unless saka does something there is no cutting edge in this team.Bottom line is we are better than Newcastle.
But we had no game plan. No Quality. No fight.
Last season was enjoyable after January. I was confident we'd beat anyone. This season feels like every team feels they can beat us.
We've gone backwards unfortunately.
Bringing Zinchenko on and leaving Trossard on was a bad decision. Mattinelli needs to be dropped along with Trossard. I actually don't know what either offer.
Anyways it is what is. I'm annoyed I wasted my afternoon on a Saturday watching that.
Imagine how the fans feel who travelled up from London.
Away fans are the most loyal fans. Performances like this will really make some turn on the manager having travelled hours and hours
Inability against any side bro.I did say in my earlier posts . Arteta lacks tactical nouse, hense he's deployed a really boring low block with no creativity to mask his inability against good sides.
Yes. But you still got a good chance of winning it. City will struggle to maintain consistency with Hugh injuries. And Scousers are known to panicInability against any side bro.

Most annoying thing today, we decided to keep Partey at RB, so that merino could be kept in midfield. Absolutely mediocre player, (one goal vs liverpool doesn't change that)
I said all along his passing is trash. But because he was half decent at Newcastle and GA gassed him up. This is a player being used ahead of nwaneri
I still maintain Merino is a good player but he's not a 10, never has been and never will be
He's best suited playing alongside a number 6 and then a 10 ahead of them
That's on Arteta for getting the midfield set up wrong, even today I thought Rice was poor but Trossard and Havertz were really bad, Havertz seemed more interested in getting into a tussle with Burn instead of playing football
The fixture at SJP is always cagey, even when Arsenal went on a long run of consistently winning their it was always win by the odd goal.I thought Hall was MOTM for us, kept Saka relatively quiet (though should have had an assist if Rice did better with the header).
It was a relatively comfortable game for us, which is the worrying thing for Arsenal. It's one thing losing but to lose having create so very little is never a good thing.
Huge win for us, much needed as this season hasn't been great but a win mid week in the league cup and now a big win at home.
Although, Odegaard missing was huge, our struggles this season has been that space between defence and midfield, which is the exact space Odegaard picks up and in previous fixtures has hurt us badly
Makes the defeat and performance worse now that City lost.Bournemouth and Brighton both leading, but probably wishful thinking on any miracles
You forgot Notts Forrest, they might do a leicesterAdvantage Liverpool.... Dont bottle it
Tbh I think before we even think about a title race we need to figure out how to play football again.Man city lose (they are away to Brighton next), Liverpool win (villa next)
The gap widens at the top and tough away game at Chelsea.
. I'd take thatYou forgot Notts Forrest, they might do a leicester
Bottle of Coke?View attachment 147308oh well guys city lost so not as bad as it was a few hours ago .
Oh Liverpool won btw
I’m off to eat a double burger with cheesy fries & large drink , anything red !
Enjoy your evening all and check out salah goal
Angry Mikel Arteta and William Saliba agree on reason for Arsenal's downfall at Newcastle
An angry Mikel Arteta fumed at his Arsenal side's failure to adapt to falling behind against Newcastle.
The Gunners slipped to a 1-0 defeat at St James' Park on Saturday to seriously dent their title ambitions. Alexander Isak ensured the Magpies claimed all three points when he headed home Anthony Gordon's superb cross just 12 minutes in.
Arsenal dominated possesion after Isak's opener, but barely troubled Toon keeper Nick Pope. In fact they had just one shot on target during the entire game as Newcastle successfully held them at arm's length.
The visitors' struggles to get themselves back in the game left Arteta cutting a frustrated figure after the defeat. And he blasted his side for failing to adapt their gameplan once they fell behind.
"We deserved to lose today. I thought we started really well and were really dominant. We didn't defend the box well enough. Credit to them. They scored a great goal with a good ball. Then the game changes and you start to play a different game," Arteta told Premier League Productions.
"You have to adapt and we didn't do that well enough. I am very frustrated. We got dragged into a game they are looking for constantly and we couldn't play the game that we wanted. We had two big chances - Mikel had a big one, Declan had a big one. We lacked answers.
"We can say whatever we want. We will struggle to find the words today. We have to show it on the pitch on Wednesday night. You have to be at your best every time to give yourself a chance to win."
Arteta's assessment of the defeat was backed by William Saliba, who played all 90 minutes of Saturday's defeat. He admitted the Gunners' morale had dipped due to the loss, a result the Frenchman believed his side deserved.
"We are all a bit sad because we wanted to win today. Unfortunately we didn't and we didn't play the game we wanted to play. We deserved to lose today I think. I think we didn't play how we wanted to play and they were good as well," Saliba told Premier League Productions.
"It's OK, we are focused on the next week and it is not finished. I think it's a good goal, a really good cross and good finishing but we can always do better. Today they scored early and we were not able to equalise.
"We have to stick together. Last season we had one period like and we need to stay together and have the confidence to get out. We all believe we will come back. I have to be better than my last game. I was not so good. I have to be back at my good level. After I will be good we will better but I have to work to get back to my best level."
The defeat at Newcastle has left Arsenal five points behind leaders Manchester City. But that gap could extend to eight points if City beat Bournemouth later on Saturday, while fellow title rivals Liverpool can move seven points clear with a win over Brighton.
Angry Arteta and Saliba agree on reason for Arsenal's downfall at Newcastle
Mikel Arteta was left furious with his Arsenal side after they slipped to defeat at Newcastle to seriously dent their hopes of challenging Manchester City for the titlewww.mirror.co.uk
Knowing out luck, they probably will. I'd take that
I don't think Liverpool will win it. Just because city are better. Liverpool will drop points at some point.Knowing out luck, they probably will
If Liverpool win it, it will just show that a new manager can come and take a good squad and win something straight away (yeah no one wants Liverpool to win it)
Key for Liverpool is to get some sort of huge lead over City, while they are stuttering. Liverpool are picking up results based on being good on moments, they did the say last season. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool strengthen in January, and their owners change tact.I don't think Liverpool will win it. Just because city are better. Liverpool will drop points at some point.
They currently relying on moments. They have the players to provide them but sooner or later it'll catch up. That's not saying they are not a good team they are. That's why I think they should have beaten us last week.
Bottle of Coke?
Lol enjoy your evening bro. What's football if you can't enjoy the Wins
Arteta used merino in same position vs Bournemouth and it didn't work, then doesn't it again vs you guys. Even stevie wonder could see that win this game the team that won and controlled physicality and ball in midfield would win game. Your midfield 3 bullied ours.I still maintain Merino is a good player but he's not a 10, never has been and never will be
He's best suited playing alongside a number 6 and then a 10 ahead of them

Lol. Utd are about to power up for take off. Final jigsaw pieces in place for a assault on possible European places. We have ample opportunity to turn our season around.Where else will you find Man United 6 points from the relegation zone, and Nottingham Forest above Arsenal in the top 4 eight weeks from Xmas? In the greatest football league in the world - The English Premier League.

Whether it's playing a 8 or 10 don't matter. Arsenal set up with a number 6 and then 2 midfielders infront of that. So you either have to create like oddegard or you have to have a progressive passing range like xhaka to play in those positions. There is a reason why merino was 6th choice for Spain.
Trossard hasn't had a single good game starting, even though he may have scored two goals vs liecester, he's otherwise been a liability. Havertz is just am over priced, over paid utility player.
A golden patch doesn't change that. Isak today did what Arsenal need, a player who scores something out of nothing in a tight game.
Yes I have been critical on isaks fitness, but if he stays fit for all this season and performs then yeah the previous 100M price tag becomes valid. Staying fit and being constant over a few seasons does that.
Yeah we were out numbered in midfield and more so outmuscled, which made decision to not use Partey in midfield even more poor. Partey has been Arsenal's best player recently, also he's still out best midfielder. The problem today was you had Merino and Rice versus our midfield 3 plus in addition Joelinton was helping out (as did Gordon), so we effectively had 4 versus your 2
It's not wonder we won the midfield battle, it needed Trossard to drop deep and help out but that's not really his game
I agree on Havertz, I think he's been a better signing than initially thought but it's problematic if he's leading your line. He isn't clinical enough and I'm not sure he ever will be
Isak has actually been poor overall this season but last 2 games he's been good and back to his best. I don't want him to leave but in the summer I can see him going if we can't offer any European football
I've never stopped supporting. Been 30+ years. Been lucky enough to have some good times. Sad part is I believed the good times were back.Rooh afza lol
Thanks bro , even if your team isn’t winning it’s still interesting to see how they fight back in the coming days . Arsenal can win 5/6 in a row . Keep supporting
Agree with the Havertz chat however this is not me defending him but his position has been all over place. Hardly does the CF role. See him out wide in the number 10.The problem today was you had Merino and Rice versus our midfield 3 plus in addition Joelinton was helping out (as did Gordon), so we effectively had 4 versus your 2

I'm still gutted but well done to Newcastle. The problem today was you had Merino and Rice versus our midfield 3 plus in addition Joelinton was helping out (as did Gordon), so we effectively had 4 versus your 2

Joelinton is always ready for a fight and that's why we love himI've actually got a break from Arsenal. Taking the kids to see WWE on Wednesday. So will miss the game.
Wonder if Joelinton will finally make his debut @Amjid Javed @Geordie Ahmed
imagine if he comes running out on main event with Newcastle top and closelines everyoneI've actually got a break from Arsenal. Taking the kids to see WWE on Wednesday. So will miss the game.
Wonder if Joelinton will finally make his debut @Amjid Javed @Geordie Ahmed
I didn't get to watch the whole game yesterday because I was playing football (not in the Alum Rock Cab League), so I only watched the last 20 minutes.
When will Arteta learn that you can't play Merino as your number 10? If Nwaneri is your best option, let him start.
I think it's time to give Rice some rest. Let Partey play DM, Merino should play the number 8 role and Nwaneri should be our CAM.
The likes of Martinelli, Jesus and Trossard are not good enough to start for Arsenal. Jesus should have been sold in the summer.
We need to get rid of Edu asap. If Arsenal finish outside the top 4, then Arteta should also face the same fate.
