One of the greatest hundreds I've seen on a tough pitch. 50 for QdK as well.

Now it's time for him to score AB de Villiers' runs," says Michael Holding

Problem is Makram doesn't score big hundreds.
Looks like he just broke an elbow.
Sensational piece of umpiring there from Dharma. Kudos to the Lankan.
Also, how rank ordinary does Starc look for long stretches of the game? Surprising for a bowler rated so high.
Is the arm broken? Ewwwww
Tough pitch for the bowlers, yes.
Smith must be having flashbacks to the Gabba Test. What a quality knock this has been by Markram.

It’s a flat pitch man. Nothing for the pacers.
Aus bowlers are extracting something out of the pitch by banging the ball into the pitch.

Right now it's easy for these two batsmen because they are still miles away from the target and are playing carefree cricket with nothing to lose. As soon as the required target comes down to 120 and less than 100, we will see panic in the SA batsmen.
Yeah, right. Ball reversing around the 25th over mark in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th innings. Flat docile pitch indeed.

They lost 3 top order wickets to Lyon. Reverse hurt only the late order batsmen. Morkels wickets were only the angled deliveries.
Lol for Indians South African pitches have suddenly become easy peasy flat tracks
Faf and TdB are late order batsmen?
Didn't Lyon get Elgar, Amla and QdK?
Who's the 3rd top order bat?
You don't want to raise the profile of every innings by appending "tough pitch" to the statement. Temperamentally a great knock.

So what makes this pitch not flat? The copious seam movement which is not there? Or the ball hooping through in air which is also not there?
Hope these guys don't get run out at this point.
Lyon should have taken that one.
True that. I cannot understand how the heck they folded for 162 runs and later Australia folded.
No demon's on the pitch but not an easy conditions to bat, have to say that's mainly because of australian bowlers quality.Their pacers started reversing the ball on 25th odd overs in the first inngs.Even ABD looks troubled against the late movement
Then some sharp turn is also their,Someone in the likes of smith looks clueless against maharaj yesterday. How often can you see that?
Looking alone the scoreboard or highlights won't say the whole story.Their is a reason why SA and Aus fold on 168 and 227 successively
They are still playing their shots regardless of the pressure
courageous and gutsy yet awe inspiring stroke play from both ends, loving it
Poor Indians, they've never played a Test in Durban before. Shame man.
Starc took 4 later order. He was the most destructive with reverse
Border while commentating " This pitch has been very good for batting " . Is he Indian or just sour grapes from him?

Australia have scored 567/20 on this pitch. That's 28 runs per wicket. Isn't that the going rate in SA since readmission?
Or are tough pitches in South Africa the ones where everyone gets bundled under 100?
Well any true cricket fan could tell that. But if you carry some kind of bitterness you will miss some of the most obvious things.
