Bro, even the commentators said that looked dead on to hit the stumps.Where are the physics experts here to detect DRS manipulation?
Bro, even the commentators said that looked dead on to hit the stumps.
Never said it was wrong but just seemed plumb from the naked eye. They mentioned the carry of subsequent 2 balls and sort of agreed that pitch has quickened and has got extra bounce. So they did not say it is wrong.

Gaffaney is having a shocker.
He gave another one that has to be be overturned. This one was even higher.
You'd have thought the umpire would have learnt from the first one!
To be fair the first one looked out to pretty much everyone.
So why dint they go on and complete the 90 overs for the day yesterday itself?
I think English team has a curfew in place.
Whoever was behind the idea of bowling first (& opting to chase against Lyon), must be scratching head now. This is the same ground, where Lyon had 12 wickets against a team probably in spin playing ranking 5 of them will come ahead of Cook ....... Surprising, but Aussies has gone for a different strategy this time - they are grinding for long and taking steam out of aged Pom attack. If this pair can take AUS to 125 overs, I think Aussie tail will blast against tiered attack and someone should break down in 2nd innings.
This is the time of inning where these two teams differ. Aussies will grind out 100 more and English will not score more than 50 after 6th wicket.
Though their depth is more reputed .........

Cannot believe how Marsh wasn't out LBW when he was around 20 odd. The DRS showed the ball was going over the stumps which I found quite ridiculous. It was as plumb as it could come. Michael Clarke on air couldn't believe it either.
england's bowlers have been disgustingly one dimensional since i started watching cricket. sick off the 4th stump line meme. sick of all these trundlers. just hit the stumps. flintoff is the only bowler we have ever had who offered something different with those hooping inswinging yorkers
Why do England think 4 identical right arm fast medium bowlers is any way to select a TEST attack?
4 won't do what 3 can't. They have the allrounder in Moeen so why not use the 4th bowler spot for a bowler of the type who routinely clean up tails- e.g. an express quick or a leggy (both a proven success as a type in Australia where conditions suit those 2 styles).
England bowling a foot too short again (Adelaide bounces now with the extra grass) due to negative, conservative nature of their selections, cricket & mindset.
Because the quicks are all broken down. It’s annoying to see them bowl too short. Anderson and Broad have 900 wickets between them and should know better. They are beating the bat but not getting the edges.
I said the legspinner should have played here.
Now England will have to bat in the murk, the Aussie quicks will pitch it up and get the nicks.
If you bowl FM at the stumps, test batsmen work you through midwicket. England are bowling the correct line. Their length is the problem.england's bowlers have been disgustingly one dimensional since i started watching cricket. sick off the 4th stump line meme. sick of all these trundlers. just hit the stumps. flintoff is the only bowler we have ever had who offered something different with those hooping inswinging yorkers

The Ashes have gone I think.
The Ashes were gone as soon as the English squad was announced. Your not even going to compete in Aus with a non-existent pace bowling attack. The Ashes have gone I think.

England could have added one bowler with some serious pace in their squad. I have heard that Jamie Overton is pretty quick so he could have been preferred over his brother though he bowled well but its a team game and a good combination makes a big difference.
Mark Footitt who has been almost selected many times could have played this time around and would have given a left arm angle to the attack.
That is if they wanted to play 4 fast bowlers to start with otherwise Crane was in the squad for his leg spin.
. I think England will come good and play well at either Melbourne or Sydney, and will win one of those matches it really.
Still remain convinced by my pre-series scoreline prediction of 4-1 to Australia. I think England will come good and play well at either Melbourne or Sydney, and will win one of those matches, but otherwise the series will belong to Australia. It is all unfolding as I expected so far - I should have bet five quid on it really.
no way in hell if the sun's out
Sun is irrelevant. England won on the Strauss tour by burying Australia in runs and applying scoreboard pressure. Even Bresnan got a fivefer. Now their batting is the weakest in.... well, it’s England’s weakest ever.
Starc and Cummins can hit 92MPH easily, different class to our guys. Even Hazelwood who is more metronomic can hit 90MPH with his effort balls.
Yet another 5-0 beckons. Becoming a familiar result when England tour Australia. The Ashes in Australia becoming a borefest.
Wow, England being brutalised. They shouldn't bother playing away from home. Pathetic, weak, mental midgets.
I said 4-0 or 5-0 and English fans got emotional.
Even Stokes won't make a difference.
They are none of those things. But they lack the experience and the right skills to prosper here. There are not many test quality players coming through - how many partners for Cook have been tried since Strauss finished - eight, nine? Four FMs is the wrong strategy. There are quick bowlers but they keep getting injured. Moeen was never going to take wickets in Australia.
This would be a more combative side:
Cook
Stoneman
Root (capt.)
Bairstow
Moeen
Stokes (if he comes back)
Foakes (w)
Broad
Plunkett (would add some pace)
Anderson
Crane
