Australia comfortably placed on 346/5 at end of Day 1 of the 1st Test against Pakistan

How many matches they need to understand bits and pieces cost them matches.

It is brutal for this game to expect bowlers to compensate and bat a bit for the inability of batters to score runs.

Select proper bowlers instead of bits and pieces and choke the opponent, leave the batting to batters.
 
Good setup from Khurram Shehzad. Just land the ball on a good length and you'll be rewarded, it's not rocket science.

Unfortunately it's out of the frying pan and into the fire with Travis Head in now.

Steve Smith's near 4 year struggle against channel bowling continues ever since Neil Wagner and NZ forced him to change his trigger and technique.

Pakistan have done well.

All Pakistani bowlers are Warner's bunnies in all formats but they have had the better of the other batsmen
 
Gone are the days when Shaheen use to get early breakthroughs.

Now his just good for burning 2 reviews & his the odi captain..
 
Sucker ball thrown wide outside off but didn't have the bounce to trouble Travis Head. Smashed contemptuously to the square boundary.
 
Travis Head is in beastly form. Let me put it in simple words.

Every minute he stays at the crease is catastrophic. If no wicket falls for the next 25 overs of the day, Australia will be 375-3 at the end of the day. o_O
 
Pakistan need to get out both theses batsman otherwise if both play together for 20 more over then 550 is on
 
it’s sad that this is how things are now… from being world famous for world class fast bowling to trundling around…

Even when we lost in Australia in 2010 and prior… at least there was some semblance of presence.

Right now it seems like any shield team would field a 10x better fast bowling attack than whatever is going on now.
 
Bringing Shaheen back was a mistake. He's beat at the moment. 16 overs already. No juice in his bowling at all. With the uselessness of Jamal and Faheem, though, we can expect Shaheen to overbowl all game and risk injury again... as if he's not already carrying one
 
Shaheen bowling 129 kph. T Natarajan was bowling the same pace maybe only slightly quicker.

So not bad signs for Pakistan.

Losing is not a problem but atleast give some fight but Pakistan is just surrender at this moment .
 
The day Pakistan goes with the do or die approach in Australia series will be the day Pakistan would compete a close Test match with Australia.

Die trying.
 
Shaheen needs rest. This is a 3 match series? Smh

We need to rotate players.

Pakistan should be the first full nation to formally withdraw from test cricket.

It wouldn’t be missed as Pakistanis don’t care for 5 day cricket.

And we are rubbish at it.

Soon only the Big 3 will play red ball so it’s inevitable, Pakistan may as well be the trendsetters.

Salman is bowling better than Yasir shah .he should have get Warner wicket but sarfaraz have different plans

Sarfaraz does many things wrong. Just last series he botched a stumping against Williamson. His 30 of 37 vs Rizwans 29 of 40 will not make a difference. Might as well have gone with the younger, more agile, and better keeper.

Would be a great decision. SL and WI should follow suit. SA and NZ will follow as well.

Makes no sense for a team like Pakistan to waste time and money on this format.

As an indian observer, you need someone with raw pace to push them on back foot - these fahmeem kind of guys are like bhuvi for india - no use where it doesnt swing.
this is where Guys like harris rauf if he had his motivation to play the longest format and give his all wold have been handy....sadly he is onthe same continent, turning out bowling 4 over nothings for the Melbourne stars...

Haris Rauf would have been clattered all over. You need to persist with line and lenght for longer period. These guys are not scared of pace.
 
How has Shans captaincy been. I feel if Babar had been around they would have been 380-1

In Australia you need relentless attacks from both sides. bumrah ,shami ,ishant ,Siraj , Ashwin and Jadeja all were bowl at good line and length so pressure were always building .they were not giving any freebies either
 
7th time an Australian scoring 150 against Pakistan in the last 10 years. Highest against any side. Against Windies 6 times.

Pakistan batsman generally perform well but bowling is where they lost the match. 300 + definitely they will score but problem is Australia pile up 550+ runs in 1st innings so they are still well behind .
 
300 up already. I think Pakistan will be doing catch up for the rest of the series. Bowlers will be tired.
 
I dream of the day when we will have an opener who scores 150 off 200 balls

Even against Bangladesh
 
Another 100 runs and Australia will have shut Pakistan out of this Test .

After that , it will be about crushing whatever little spirit is left in PAK team by putting them out there for as long as possible.

More than what they took 4 years ago in the whole series
