What's new

Australia defeat India by 5 wickets in 1st ODI (Perth)

Warner's being pushed back by Bhuvi. There is a decent amount of bounce on the pitch

Is India looking to strangle Smith down the leg side? That was the only way we could get him out in the last test series :))

Bang on Target. I think he's above 6 ft as well. Parnell's a yard quicker though
Parnell can touch 145 when he puts in effort. I think sran will hover around 133-138 mostly. But need to see more.

I won against NZ due to some physiological advantage. This Australia team is not better than NZ or India. India will win this match easily.

That send off to warner though :))) surely he will get it back if he ever comes out to bat.

MSD and BCCI's stubbornness towards not having DRS deserved that let off of Bailey.

Finally the good results of quality coaching. Indian bowlers are becoming good with the help of Donald, Wasim and Waqar in their coaching panel.

It has gone well past Dhoni responsibility .

Now Manohar has said they won't agree to DRS .So either Most players are in agreement with that or BCCI doesn't care about players opinions and just want to be stubborn

Based on the description, Sran was supposed to be a swing bowler but his back of the length bowling is pretty good here

Watching the delayed stream. Was Bailey out first ball but not given?

Poor Bran..should have had 3 wickets here. BCCI's DRS stance strikes again.

Yes, but such calls go either way and u Have DRS to review and get it right.

Unfortuntely BCCI doesnt care or want that.

So Bailey remains not out.

Considering how the Aussies are struggling, ROhit's knock was very special.

Have you forgotten the might Ishant? He was massacred many time though :))

He has started to be aggressive only recently if I'm correct, after gaining confidence in his bowling when the responsibility to lead our attack fell on his shoulders. Or was he the same during his debut series too?

At least with the previous regime of Srini n co, they were so close to MSD that most of their decisions were of symbiotic in nature. I can't understand why Manohar too has to toe in with the same lines when MSD's power (in BCCI) is clearly on wane.

(OTOH, Kohli said some time back he is open to discuss about possibility of DRS)

What's the guarantee DRS would change the onfield call? DRS has been proven to be a joke.

Can't be just because of Dhoni. Last I heard, BCCI was very unhappy with the cost associated with it

The problem is the likes of Sachin Kumble are against DRS who still have doubts over DRS and they still have big influence .They just can't get over the Srilanka series in 2009.

That's the only explanation I can think off

Always like that.. looks good when he performs, looks like a fool when he's carted around. He was the latter during 2009-2014..

Rohit's knock indeed was quite special. The gulf between him and the next best batsman in the match is staggering.

What a strange stance by bailey. The back part of his leg almost faces the bowler when he takes stance at the crease.

Missed the tweet by Yuvi on him need to follow domestics more closely.

We were the first team to try DRS in 2008-09 when we toured Lanka.

But then projected paths were used to give LBWs without the umpire call. So even if it slightly brushed the bails of leg stump the umpire decision was overturned and given out .

Jayawardne being a much better captain than Kumble used it much more effectively .Even though Mendis was the biggest factor in our test series loss the DRS played a big part in it.So most Indian players who played in that series just don't trust the Hawkeye part in DRS.

Its quite opposite to Chanderpaul's stance. You would want to watch the ball closely out of the bowler's hand. Not sure how he can do that when he's showing his back

Oh i see.

Well clearly that was DRS in raw format.

I am sure it is much better now but BCCI is still morbidly afraid.
