I thought they were going to leave it green?..Let me be the first poster to declare this a road.

Any Australian player that makes more than 20 runs is a HTB.
Predicting the ball to lose shape within 20.
Playing it safe.Well one of the Perth balls took two deliveries so you are not going out on a limb there![]()
Australia would get whitewashed in Asia.
Nah, it's Usman Khawaja.KW is the best batsman in the world.
Hmm this should be an interesting test, will be intriguing to see what the ball does when lights are on as supposedly it starts doing all sorts but than I've heard that many a time before.
Do you mind shutting up mate? You made your point.

I think it's more that the players just can't see the ball at night, it doesn't have to do much to be dangerous when you can't see the damn thing![]()
If that's the case hopefully this idea gets shelved quickly, could cause serious injury in the pursuit of more money by these money hungry boards.
I agree i wouldn't mind if the pink ball did swing at night but was still easily visible, lord knows our players need practice facing that sort of stuff but getting out or injured simply because you can't see the ball turns the whole sport into a farce.
If there is such a need of 'evolution' why not simply use a white ball?

I assume the white ball was ruled out because they didn't want to use coloured clothes and that the white ball likely couldn't be used for longer than say 40-45 overs.
"We have conducted several broadcast trials in recent years which identified the pink ball as the most suitable for use in a day-night Test," James Sutherland, the Cricket Australia CEO said. "However as we move closer to scheduling a match, we felt this was a good opportunity to take advantage of Nine's full-camera set up and help it adequately prepare for a potential day-night Test later this year."

The ball is pink for the television cameras to pick it up. White ball is no good when in the sky during the day and red ball is no good in the sky at night.
Can't pick the ball much even on tv it's like a blur
