Its not an unfair comparison. I personally think both are roughly equal in talent, and I'm seeing it through relatively neutral eyes. Pakistan supporters put Amir on a pedestal. He was very very good, but so is Pattinson at this stage of his career.

I mean, what more can you do? Pattinson is being handed fairly decent pitches. And its not like he's carp on those pitches. 20 wickets in 3 matches, 3 already this innings. He's been ridiculously phenomenal.

Lets compare him to Amir in England. Even better bowling pitches, perhaps slightly tougher batsmen (but tbh, we collapsed so many times that series) roughly equal stats after 4 tests?

Pattinson is going at par with Amir on talent and utilization in his early days, no way to say that Pattinson can't be as good as Amir is. I'm especially impressed by his accuracy at a young age and that wonderful pace he manages.
