aussies should go with 4 paceman vs india

and captain as spinner

indian been exposed big time on there last three tours in west indies, england and now in these 2 matches... so far...

they might win.... but batting been awful

Not many, especially when there is a test class batsman like Rohit Sharma waiting to play.

I think he played well for the time he was at crease today..he is playing his second test outside India I think and honestly looks technically okayish and can improve..

Time for Laxman to leave and bring in Rohit..we need to groom both kohli and Rohit..

The pitch isn't that favoring a quick. Its got something, but not that much. Amir wasn't that phenomenal on flat pitches? He has what, 6 wickets in 3 matches against SL at something like 40 runs per? And 7 in 3 matches in NZ against a crap lineup? And NZ pitches generally help a pacer. The results started pouring in against Australia and England.

Amir is a great talent.

But to disdain Pattinson for having an amazing series in Australia is a terrible mindset. Amir did nothing of great note in the 3 SC games he has played, yet you call him a great talent. I agree he is a great talent. Why can't Patto be a great talent as per the four matches I've seen of him?

Give the man some credit, he's been beautiful, statswise better than Amir too so far. He deserves to be held on par in the same class of talent, because he bloody well is.

DISAGREE on this... his not in the same league as amir...

amir was kid when he came in 2 test cricket ... coming from rubbish first class system....

making debut in lanka...... is just the same way as sehwag batting on seaming wickets:akhtar

Pattison is a great prospect, he's probably the most talented since Amir.

Amir looked a more complete bowler, could do more things with the ball. Had greater potential than Pattinson.

But at the end of the day, yeah Pattinson has had a better start than Amir to his test career. And that matters more. Wasim Akram could do virtually anything with the ball, and was perhaps the most talented fast bowler ever, but he wasn't test cricket's best bowler.
 
Lyon has been useless again, no point in playing him. He will no better than clarke against India.
 
Dhoni should bat positively here, that is the only way, 200 plus runs is important. You never know Australia are also struggling with the top order.
 
I think Australia would love to bat here on day II and day III on this pitch and get a lead.
 
Ausssies should have played another fast bowler.... Lyon does not look like getting a wicket.

I agree. The problem is Aussies are playing spinner just for the sake of playing, that is not right, you should play your strength.... lyon does look threatening at all.

 
I think aussies should attack at this point and not let India drift to 200 plus total here.

do you want me throw stats back at you to show how 'ungreatly' Pattinson's stats are to other 'greats' of the past????

come on man...i am not debating his stats or how productive he has been...i am loving what he is doing to India :P

I am purely talking from what i am seeing on the screen...he is very raw at this point...his height is def an asset...i just don't think he is as unplayable as 'the stats' are making him seem like...

Amir could make the ball talk with his eyes closed...it wasn't just only about line and length...he could move the ball in whatever direction he wanted...and Amir still younger and more rawer than Pattinson...not to say Pat won't eventually get there...but i just haven't seen enough...playing in favorable 'home' conditions isn't the best judge of talent now is it...especially when you are bowling to mostly flat track bullies
