Bangladesh (565 & 30/0) secure a historic Test win by 10 wickets against Pakistan (448/6d & 146) in the 1st Test match and lead the 2-match series 1-0

Lower strike rate in home conditions on flat wickets is surely a major concern.
 
High time for Shaheen Afridi to take a call in Test cricket and focus on white ball format. He has been awful in longer format for so long now.
 
Turning out to be one of the worst test matches of recent times. 12 wickets in total in 4 days so far.

When was the last time Pak bowlers have taken 10 wickets in an innings in any format of the game ?

Come on!!! This BD current team has 3-4 better batsmen than ours. Apart from Saud and Rizwan whole team is not even good to play in local Ind/Eng/Aus teams.

I got the feeling if BD takes 50 runs lead they will get a target under 150 in 4th innings,
 
I think the Pakistan curators have lost their ability to prepare good, supportive wickets. There is nothing for fast bowlers. I can’t understand the logic of playing four specialist fast bowlers. Even South Africa (SAF) and Australia (AUS), at their prime playing on home wickets, used to include one spinner. Gillespie has completely failed to understand the nature of our cricket and conditions.

Exactly!!! This Naqvi knows nothing about cricket and didn't even banned ring-leaders like Babar and Shaheen for grouping.
 
I told everyone Jason and Kristen wouldn't do Jack for pakistan.

Pakistan doesn't give them the sake respect and authority like they do to Misbah.
 
No should mind a draw as the both are brotherly nations and the both played fiercely with Asian Slayer 1 Rizwan and Slayer No 2 Mushfiqur scoring gritty hundreds. It's a win-win
 
I think Shaheen needs to learn how to bowl cutters , he is not quick enough to just rely on line and Length on flat pitches

That's why we need Misbah. Misbah understand the players and the conditions. Under his captaincy Pakistan remained No. 1 in Test Cricket. UAE kind of became our fortress. He can make Pakistan a fortress as well.
 
Only result possible if Bangladesh can take 100+ lead .

Pakistan is out of the race to win the test .
 
Evenly matched teams in terms of talent but home advantage should have PAK dominating the visitors. Weird scorecard.
 
Awful match. This is why I stopped watching Pakistan test matches at home. Just road after road and Pindi is the flatest of them all.

Not this again.

Brother, Misbah was useless outside UAE and pakistan does not play much in UAE anymore, theirs no rhyme or reason to assume his exploits in pakistan will be revolutionary, And outside UAE he isn't good at all.

Not gonna talk about WB or his previous coaching stint, but in terms of test cricket, He is useless outside UAE amd People heavily forget how much of the chucking factor + YK factor was involved in turning UAE draws into wins.

But there were some shots Mushfiq played on the backfoot through the offside that were so reminiscent of Mohammad Yousuf in his style

Should play Faheem as the 5th fast bowling all rounder next test.

Why should Salman Agha be dropped?

Pakistan are playing one too many batter with either Shan or Babar.

They should drop Abdullah, open with Shan and then they can bring in the seam all rounder to bat at 6-7

Yes i see that too. He replicates yousuf sometimes. Some of the drives he plays are pure quality
 
The Liton Das pull Naseem for 6

That might be the best shot I have seen in Pakistan for a long, long time

That’s not true at all, the Curators in the 70s wouldn’t have a bunch of players desperate to pad their stats like we have right now.
 
Home teams have a ground where it's difficult to beat them and they call it their fortress...
On the other hand Pakistan have made a fortress for visitors in Rawalpindi where any visiting team can either beat them or draw the match...

Also, they can then rest Shaheen or Naseem and play a proper spinner

Remained? Nope.

They were #1 for a very short period of time and then they lost 6 consecutives matches on the trot to West Indies , NZ and Australia.

But I do think Misbah understands Test cricket in UAE/Pakistan at least.


It's his only redeeming quality.
 
And this team wants to play WTC final. More likely they will be around 8-9 at the end.

You have to go the BazzBall route and force a result! Pakistan tried ever so hard to escape with a draw, but Ben Stokes and England blocked every escape route for Pakistan

Maybe the greatest Test win by a leader in the modern era. Babar will forever be reminded of this humiliation
 
Saim Ayub bazballing a quickfire ton is the only way pak can have a chance to win.

England should be the only team allowed to play tests in Rawalpindi, no other team can make a match on this surface

Yeah he wanted to, hence he a scored a 50 at a strike rate of 57.

On the other hand, Riz didnt want to, hence he scored a 150+ at a strike rate of 72.

People almost invariably arrive at their beliefs not on the basis of proof but on the basis of what they find attractive.

But Naqvi is worse. Knowing that grouping caused us first round exit still he didn't ban any of Babar, Shaheen and Rizwan. These lots will continue do same things unless ICC intervene and ban these players.

On roads, you might as well play these kind of players who can inflict the most damage without much threat to them because of the track

That’s why a guy like Sehwag used to murder Pakistani bowlers. Day 1 300* not out looool

Agreed.

The problem is far worse from the inside. Not so easy to take on this mafia that is so deep rooted. It’s not just Babar+Rizwan….there are plenty of stakeholders that are going to want to keep this nexus going
 
Pakistan need good spinners to win test matches in Sub Continent. Where is Shadab Khan? Any other decent spinners in domestic?
 
Nauman Ali could have been viewed as Pakistan’s keshav Maharaj

I think Pakistan wants BD to take their time and get lead so we can negotiate 40-50 overs to draw. One way its better as we cannot play attacking cricket to score faster to get big lead to declare.

He can at least get rid of Babar and Shaheen who are failing for quite some times and serial failure in pressure matches.

Well i just woke up and not surprised at all as i predicted on day 1.we would be very close to defeat in the end
