Could Jasprit Bumrah be India's greatest ever bowler?

https://www.hindustantimes.com/cricket/in-one-year-he-will-completely-break-down-shoaib-akhtar-explains-how-india-can-preserve-jasprit-bumrah-for-long-101627392511428.html

There has been plenty of talk over Jasprit Bumrah's bowling action and form, with several former cricketers believing that the India fast bowler needs to find a way to prolong his international career. Bumrah has been playing international cricket for over five years now but his form has seen a bit of a dip following a back injury sustained in late 2019. Although the pacer avoided surgery on his back and made a successful return to top-flight cricket, the wickets have dried up and his economy rate his spiked.

Bumrah is hands down one of India's most important and key bowlers, and his role is expected to get bigger with back-to-back World Cups approaching. Keeping that in mind, former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has a word of advice for the India pacer and team management, and believes that if they are to ensure that Bumrah has a long career ahead, key is to use him judiciously.

"His bowling is based on frontal action. Players with that action bowl with their backs and shoulder speed. We used to be side-on, and that is a compensation. Front action has no compensation and with that action, when the back blows out, you can’t escape it irrespective of how much you try," Akhtar said on Sports Tak.

"I saw [Ian] Bishop’s back blowing out, Shane Bond’s back blowing out, and both has frontal actions. Bumrah now needs to think in this way, ‘I played a match, took an off, and go to rehab’. He needs to manage. If you play him every match, in one year, he will completely break down. Play him three matches out of five and take him out. Bumrah will have to manage this one thing if he wants to last forever."

Akhtar cited his own example, revealing how during his playing career, he faced a similar problem. The former Pakistan pacer explained how he tried to convince the Pakistan Cricket Board to follow the same pattern with him, but the PCB's reluctance to listen to him forced Akhtar to take a stock of situation himself.

"I kept telling Pakistan Cricket Board, ‘do not make me play all five matches. I am a three ODI fast bowler and by knees won’t allow it’. When I started my years in 1997, my knees couldn’t take the pressure. Whenever I played five matches, knees would get filled with water and my movement went away. I got tired of asking them to use me in three matches out of five but unfortunately, I had to manage this myself," he pointed out.

Boom Boom is back with a bang! The kind of performance you always hope from someone like Jasprit Bumrah.

India vs England: Jasprit Bumrah Picks 5, Joe Root Scores Ton, India Need 157 More for Win

The Board of Control for Cricket in India shared a video of the special moment. Watch here:

Bumrah had come into the match with minor question marks over his form. He had gone wicketless in 36.4 overs of bowling in the ICC World Test Championship Final against New Zealand at Southampton in June. However, he turned it around in style in this game, giving India a shot at victory. Bumrah explained he had made some mindset changes coming into this game.

“Not a lot of adjustments to be very honest. Just the mindset adjustments and probably not looking at the end result a little too much. I am trying to be in the moment and back my skills. I am just trying to improve my game all the time and add new things but carrying the things I still have," he said in a press conference after the day’s play.

“We don’t want to look too far ahead. We are off to a good start and would look to play session by session with a good mindset tomorrow and take things from there.

“Felt like it (pitch easing out), lot of heavy rolling was also done so it got a little slow. When we bowled full, it was a little easier than in the first innings. So we had to create pressure. The wicket has gotten better so we are looking to capitalise."

India vs England-Jasprit Bumrah on Verge of Beating Kapil Dev in Race to 100 Test Wickets

Bumrah had a fantastic Test match in Lord’s, first batting England out of the game with his superb 89 run stand with Mohammed Shami. Then he returned to remove the England top order as India won the second Test by 151 runs.

India pacer Jasprit Bumrah can overtake legend Kapil Dev to become the fastest from the country to reach 100 Test wickets. Bumrah, who has 95 wickets in 22 games, is in great form; it seems he will get there in Headingly, venue for the third Test. Dev, who won the World Cup for India, achieved the same feat in 25 Test matches.

Reaching this milestone would also mean that Bumrah overtakes the likes of Manoj Prabhakar (96 Test wickets) and Venkatesh Prasad (95 Test wickets).

Bumrah had a fantastic Test match in Lord’s, first batting England out of the game with his superb 89 run stand with Mohammed Shami. Then he returned to remove the England top order as India won the second Test by 151 runs.

Earlier at Lord’s, he was targeted by England players for bowling beamers at James Anderson. It all began when Mark Wood, on his return to the bowling mark, had said something to the Indian cricketer who was at the non-striker’s end. This didn’t go down well with Bumrah and he promptly took up the matter with the on-ground umpires. Buttler and Root too rushed in to find out what he was complaining about.

Meanwhile, whatever English tried to do, it just back-fired as the tailenders added 33 crucial runs to India’s lead which went past 200.

The reason Bumrah was targeted is because he peppered James Anderson, when he was batting on day 3, with barrage of bouncers. Following this, Bumrah was given a mouthful by the 39-year-old; Anderson even tried to sledge Kohli on Day 4, but got a befitting reply.

Talking about replies, Wood to got a thrashing the very next ball as he was smashed for a four, the pacer also came back hard as he rattled the batsman with a bouncer that hit his helmet. All in all, the Indian fans were the ultimate winner in this as they are being served some exciting Test-match cricket.

Bumrah is an INSANE ****.

Interesting how he has little streaks of Steyn in him.

Can look toothless at times only to roar out of nowhere and win you games.

Except while bowling to Kane Williamson and New Zealand, Bumrah is a magical magical test bowler.

Except while bowling to Kane Williamson and New Zealand, Bumrah is a magical magical test bowler.
That comes as sour grapes, you do realize that its different game when you are playing cricket after long time and other team has tons of preparations ,the series should have been post wtc

That spell by Bumrah really changed the game. Before that spell, England were going for win and all of a sudden, two wickets and Bumrah bowling searing yorkers at pace and England were playing for draw. It all happened so quickly.

Not only best indian bowler. He is world no 1 bowler ATM.The way he changed the match in flat wicket by taking wicket of in form pope and Blairstown wicket by yorker, is great fast bowling. 24 matches 101 wickets ahead of Kapil dev.

Best bowler in the world and should finish in top 5 pacers of all times if all formats are considered.

Not sure if he could become an ATG due to longevity being a suspect, but his current stats will definitely make him one to look out for.

I would pick Bumrah ahead of Srinath and Zaheer if I had to. He has achieved so much for India in tests in such a short period of time.

In the record books, Jasprit Bumrah’s figures of 2/27 at the Oval will look unremarkable. In reality, his performance was one of the most eye-catching of a series that has not been short of standout displays.

On a pitch that was offering little to the seamers in terms of movement, the match looked destined for a draw as England reached lunch on the final day at 131/2, with Haseeb Hameed well set on 62 and the series’ outstanding batter Joe Root looking comfortable.

To that point India’s attack had bowled with discipline, turning the screws and asking the right questions only to be met with the correct answers by a determined England top order. Shardul Thakur had provided an early breakthrough when he struck in the eighth over of the day to remove Rory Burns but there was little encouragement for the tourists in the first session, with the run out of Dawid Malan a surprise bonus.

At the same time, just 54 runs came for England in the first session leaving their hopes of victory close to extinguished – 237 runs from the final two sessions was always going to prove difficult -and India had an ace up their sleeve.

“Well it is quite relative what you call flat,” Virat Kohli said of the pitch at the post-match presentation.

“The last two days conditions have been really hot so the field wasn’t that wet like the first three days and we knew we were in with an opportunity with Jadeja bowling from one end into the rough, the ball got scuffed up quite nicely. We managed to make one side heavier and our guys when the ball is reversing enough they become much more lethal and we exploited reverse swing perfectly today.

“We were actually looking forward to the opportunity of bowling with the old ball and we looked at that as a positive rather than thinking 'nothing is happening from the pitch what are we going to do here?'”

With the match in the balance and hints of reverse swing, Bumrah asked for the responsibility of putting the Test firmly in India’s favour.

The pace spearhead had looked India’s most threatening bowler to that point in the match, leaking just 14 runs from his 11 overs so far, with five maidens to his name. On the sixth delivery of his post-lunch spell there was the first hint he was going to be even more difficult for England to play - the ball beating Hameed’s outside edge, swinging ever so slightly in the direction of the shiny side.

Hameed fell in the next over to Jadeja, opening the door for India. In the third and fourth overs of his spell, Bumrah blew that door off its hinges.

Having steadily built the pressure on Ollie Pope, he made a mess of his stumps, castling him with an inswinger that was simply too hot to handle. It wasn’t the trademark yorker that has served him so well, but it was still a fitting way for him to bring up his 100th Test wicket in just his 24th Test – the fewest matches for an Indian quick to reach the milestone.

In his next over, the yorker did come out – an inswinging rocket that took the pitch out of the equation and one Jonny Bairstow could do nothing about as he was bowled for a duck.

Things got worse for England in the following over as Jadeja struck again to remove Moeen Ali for a duck. From 141/2, the hosts had slipped to 147/6.

The situation would have deteriorated even further if anyone other than Root had to face the final two overs of Bumrah’s spell. Only a man in the form of his life could have denied Bumrah’s next yorker and even then it was only just, with the toe end of Root’s bat jamming down in the nick of time to keep out the heat-seeker. Bumrah finished his spell with one more of those yorkers and again Root needed the toe end of his bat to protect his toes and his stumps.

His figures for the spell read an impressive 6-2-6-2, indicative of the pressure he had built and the blows he had struck. Its match-turning status was agreed upon by both captains.

“As soon as the ball started reversing a bit Jasprit just said ‘just give me the ball’ and he bowled that six-over spell and got us two breakthroughs which completely shifted the momentum to our side and from thereon we knew any more mistakes from England and we’ll be all over this game,” Kohli said.

"Credit to India, they got the ball to reverse and they really made good use of that,” Root said. “It was a brilliant spell of bowling from Bumrah and that really was the turning point in the game.

"I think you've always got to find ways of getting better and managing different periods of play - absolutely - but at the same time you've got to be realistic about things and understand that was world-class bowling.

"He saw an opportunity in the game and performed extremely well. Sometimes you've got to find a way of managing through that period. There's a chance there might be some reverse swing at Old Trafford - we'll have to make sure we manage it better if we come across a similar situation."

England went on to be bowled out for 210, with Thakur picking up his second wicket when he had Root chop on and Umesh Yadav finished things off from there as he collected three wickets.

Having conceded a 99-run first-innings lead it was yet another memorable come from behind victory for India. With belief sky-high, they will now look to secure their first Test series win in England since 2007 when the two teams meet in the final match starting Friday.

Bumrah’s figures in this series and even the Aus series are not great. Has he bowled well? Yes. Has he been unlucky? Yes. But it’s results that count unfortunately

That spell of 6 overs where he got Bairstow and Pope out is the greatest bowling spell this year. To extract such kind of zip on a dead pitch is fantastic effort. He won India the game yeaterday with the ball....not sure what you mean by results that count. Which result he is not giving?

Statistically also, Bumrah averages 20 in this series with 18 wickets to his name. So, the figure part looks a pretty forcible argument.

A lot has been spoken about his bowling action in the past. Several health experts have also suggested that it could trouble the pacer’s body in the long run. However, Bumrah has managed his fitness well and so far, have stayed away from any major injury.

While speaking to The Telegraph, Holding opined that Bumrah’s run-up doesn’t give enough time to the batters to settle at the crease and the latter’s strong action generates the required pace.

“I think what puts people off is Bumrah’s limited run-up and his powerful strong action that produces the pace,” Holding said.

“If he had a long rhythmical run-up and bowled with the same delivery action at the same pace, batsmen would not find it as difficult. Even Jeff Thomson and Lasith Malinga had ‘different’ actions, but they had a run-up through which batsmen could get some sort of rhythm from,” he added.

Bumrah's biggest strength is his versatility. He can take wickets in any conditions and any format.

However, to achieve greatness in test cricket, he needs to master the art of bowling in certain conditions like Hadlee or Anderson or become relentlessly consistent with off-stump line like McGrath or Cummins or become a master of reverse swing in subcontinental wickets.

He has good pace but it is not feasible for him to increase that and get it to the mid-140s consistently so he needs to adopt some other strategy in which he is really the best in the world.

At this point, he is just a jack of test match bowling and perhaps, master of death over bowling which is only feasible in LOIs. In tests, the yorkers will give him tail wickets mostly.

My favorite wicket of Bumrah was Shaun Marsh's wicket. I think Rohit told him to bowl right before lunch. He landed a pitch perfect slower one on the stumps. He was completely bamboozled to be caught plumb infront.

I think his slower ball to Robinson was even better.Tailender yes,but already batted for an hour. The setup was incredible.

Kapil Dev said what pleases him the most is that now you ask questions about Indian pace arsenal. During his playing days, people only asked about Indian spinners. India should be proud of their pacers now.

He is one of the very best Indian bowlers that I have seen in terms of skill, possibly the best. He is one of the best bowlers I’ve seen on any team for quite a while actually.

He has these amazing supple wrists so he can move it around, which gives him the ability to swing the ball

Hussain is getting a bit excited as he does. Waqar got 100 wickets in his 20th test. There is no comparison in destructiveness.

To be 4 tests behind at this stage is massive. And waqar 200 wickets in 37/38 matches. Bumrah will probably struggle to get 150 by then.

I wouldn’t compare him really, I would say that his bowling style and short run up (but high speed) makes him quite different to other pace bowlers.

For me he is the most promising fast bowler India have had in the last decade, however I am not sure his action will give him the longitivtiy required.

No but the hype about his bowling in this series is ridiculous. 18 wickets in 4 matches is ok but not amazing. The strike rate of 50 is ok for a whole career. But for a series where he’s being hyped to the moon, it’s a bit high. Should be in the mid 40s to be impressive. It’s pretty run of the mill.

The greats used to have series where they took over 20+ Wickets over 3 tests.
Some took 40 over 5/6 tests.

He has to take more wickets to be talked about with the greats

He bowled couple of series changing spells in Aus and Eng. If he keeps doing that no one will care about anything else.

Players are always hyped and as time passes, they get hyped even more after retirement. No surprise that he is getting some hype right now.

Not many greats have done so well in all conditions when they first toured. He has done very well in all conditions. That may be the reason for him getting more praise. Anyway, he has a long way to go to join the ranks of greats of the game right now.

What I meant was that hype will always follow if you put series-defining performances. You are going to get hyped more for 20 wickets as compared to 30 wickets if 30 wickets came in a losing cause.

I am pretty sure in entire England series bumrah is the most talked about. His performances were not loaded with quantity to get those mom awards, but loaded with quality to get everyone including critics raving about

I remember seeing a video analysis of bumrah bowling by Australian past cricketers. He bowls a heavy ball because his release from bowling crease is already 30 to 40 cms. Compared to siraj who is 7cm
What this means is, he gives very little time for batsmen to adjust. And his rapid pace with this release and excellent wrists makes it very difficult to play him comfortably.

Oh yeah another quality which everyone forgets, his intelligence.
His dismissal of Shaun marsh and Ollie Robinson will be talked about for a long time

I think his slower ball to Robinson was even better.Tailender yes,but already batted for an hour. The setup was incredible.
This reminds me of that incredible extremely slow Yorker bowled by Courtney Walsh against an English batsman in that 2 day test in 2000! The hapless guy just kept on waiting for delivery to arrive, it did arrive, however he was bowled all ends up by the time it arrived.

We dont dream to have bottle cap users.

There is a reason why no pakistani fast bowler has picked even 200 test wickets since waqar younis and why Waqar's performance took a huge dip post the scrutiny by tv cameras for ball tampering.

Bumrah has now been instrumental in multiple overseas series wins. Not sure if someone like Anderson with his length of career can boast of shaping as many overseas wins as Bumrah has in a mere 24 tests.

Thats because he is not a lone wicket taker.
Ash/Jaddu get nearly 4WPM even on greentops.
Umesh/Shami run through batting lineups in 2nd innins.
Thakur/Siraj not the worst either and chip inn with imp scalps as well.

That means it is a great attack as unit, not as individual.

Bumrah and Ashwin are standouts but not earth- shattering.

Not only Anderson, but it will also hold true for many others as well.

For example,

Anderson has participated in a total of 13 test wins against India/Aus/NZ/SA in their home.

Waqar
played in 9 test wins against Aus/Ind/WI/SA in their den. Those were the toughest 4 teams in their home conditions when 2 W played.

Wasim
played in 5 test wins against Aus/Ind/WI/SA in their den.

India did not use to win before Bumrah came. He is hyped for a good reason.

It does not mean that he is an ATG after 20 odd tests, it simply means that if you help your team to win against top opposition in their den then you are going to get hyped.

'He is a gem; that diamond which you want to have in your team': Former England pacer calls Bumrah a captain's 'dream'

The former England fast bowler feels Jasprit Bumrah is a captain's dream and given what all he brings to the table, any team would be lucky to have him.

After the final of the World Test Championship, questions were asked of Jasprit Bumrah and his form, but by the time the India vs England series got over, the India pacer had answered his detractors in style. Bumrah was once again back to his menacing best, bowling toe-crushing yorkers and picking up wickets.

He began the series picking up 4/46 in the first innings of the Nottingham Test, and followed it with a five-wicket haul in the second as India came close to victory. He then grabbed 3/33 in the second innings of the Lord's Test as England were bowled out for 120 chasing over 270 to win. In Leeds, Bumrah was slightly ineffective as England crushed India to level the series 1-1. But at The Oval, Bumrah once again delivered as he bowled a breath-taking spell, mastering the art of reverse-swing to trigger England's collapse.

Bumrah's stocks continue to rise. During the Oval Test, the fast bowler surpassed Kapil Dev to become the quickest India pacer to take 100 wickets in the format. Bumrah's return to form bodes well for India, as former England fast bowler Dominic Cork weighed in on the pacer's exceptional bowling. Cork feels Bumrah is a captain's dream and given what all he brings to the table, any team would be lucky to have him.

"What Jasprit Bumrah brings is pace and also control. For a captain, he must be a dream. He wants to bowl and bowl long spell. He is a gem; that diamond which you want to have in your team all the time. Just look at how well he bowled to Joe Root. Root is in the form of his life but even he was struggling with those yorkers and that reverse swing," Cork had said on the Sony Sports Network.

Bumrah finished with 2/27 in the final innings of the Oval Test which India won by 157 runs, and although he may not have been high on the wicket column – it was his impact that put India on top. In two overs, he dismissed Ollie Pope and Jonny Bairstow to dent England, who had all 10 wickets in hand and needed to bat out the final day to push a draw. Bumrah spoiled their party as those two wickets allowed India to kick the door in. Highly impressed with Bumrah, Cork feels the entire Indian bowling deserved credit for the way they bowled against England on a pretty flat Day 5 pitch.

"When you're the captain, you want control. Even when you're looking for wickets, you want control because that then puts pressure on the batting side. When they are not rotating strike, things add up. Take nothing away from Jadeja – he exploited that rough and tightened things up from one end, but Bumrah was outstanding. I would go with all the bowlers. To bowl England out on that surface, they deserve a lot of accolades," Cork added.

1. Waqar Younis’ performance took a dip not because there was more scrutiny, it’s because he lost his express pace after his second back injury in 1995/96. He was still bowling reverse swing until the end of his career, but he just was not quick enough to be as devastating as he was earlier on in his career.

2. Reverse swing is more lethal at a higher pace. This was mentioned by Javed Miandad after the 1992 test series “England were beaten by pace and not swing”. Reverse swing is different to conventional swing because of the aerodynamics involved. The fast the delivery the more exaggerated and late is the swing. Also remember on a post match analysis show in 2006 manjrekar asked imran what he thinks of irfan pathan’s reverse swing. Imran scoffed “reverse swing at 80mph is useless, it’s not effective - it’s less exaggerated and doesn’t swing as late”.

All of this is no secret - the most successful and mind blowing reverse swing spells have been when combined with sheer pace.

Even Ian Bell was reverse swinging his 75mph gentle part time medium pacers, but it was pointless at that pace.

England’s success at reverse swing in 2005 was because they had 3 90mph+ bowlers.

Even india now are benefitting because bumrah etc are pretty sharp. The movement isn’t as exaggerated or late as the real express bowlers but it is just about enough to be effective.

Agreed.
Bowlers who are medium fast(130-135) have decent record with new ball and conventional swing( eg. Bhuvi, Praveen Kumar, Philander etc). Not that great with the old ball.
Bowlers who are fast medium or fast generally have reverse swing( eg. Malinga, Srinath, Shami etc) generally good death bowlers or 2nd innigs specialists.

That's two instances in two consecutive matches where Bairstow has had his stumps rattled by Bumrah, one in the last test in England and now in the warm up T20.

Team India skipper Virat Kohli will be resting a lot of the bowling attack's responsibility on the truly capable shoulders of his premier T20 pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Bumrah is only five wickets away from becoming India's all-time leading wicket-taker in Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) as he looks on course to surpass leggie Yuzvendra Chahal (63 wickets) for the record.

The 26-year-old speedster has become world cricket's most up-and-coming talent as the Men in Blues' pace spearhead in all three formats. It is almost as if imagining an Indian playing XI without Bumrah's presence is next to impossible unless of course he is injured.

Apart from stalwarts like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami, he will be leading the Indian pace battery in the 2021 ICC World T20, which begins on Sunday (October 24) in Dubai against arch-rivals Pakistan in the Super 12s stage of the showpiece event.

Bumrah's last outing for India in the shortest format of the gentlemen's game was in a five-match bilateral series against New Zealand in January 2020 and he would be making his T20I comeback after more than a year in the T20 World Cup.

The star seamer has proved to be one of the most vital cogs in the wheels of the Mumbai Indians (MI) franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he had a terrific season in the 2021 edition taking 21 wickets in 14 matches and becoming the third-highest wicket-taker in the season.

Since Chahal has not been included in the Indian 15-man T20 World Cup squad, chances are that the MI pace ace will breach the leg spinner's record in the initial stages of the marquee ICC event itself.

While Chahal was overlooked by the selectors, young leg-break bowler Rahul Chahar has got the opportunity to represent India in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021.

India's T20 World Cup 2021 campaign kicks off with the Super 12s Group 2 encounter against their long-standing nemesis Pakistan at Dubai tonight (7:30 PM IST).

<b>IND vs SA: Bumrah joins Kapil Dev in elusive list with Day 4 exploits, scripts unique world record in Test cricket</b>

<I> provided two crucial breakthroughs to Team India on Day 4 of the opener, dismissing Rassie van der Dussen and nightwatchman Keshav Maharaj.</I>

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah on Wednesday scripted an elusive world record in Test cricket after picking two wickets in the second innings of the first Test against South Africa at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. Bumrah surpassed former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Amir en route to the record.

Bumrah provided two crucial breakthroughs to Team India on Day 4 of the opener, dismissing Rassie van der Dussen at the half-hour mark of the final innings with an unplayable delivery before getting rid of nightwatchman Keshav Maharaj with a brilliant yorker in the final delivery of the day.

With the dismissal of van der Dussen, Bumrah amassed 100 wickets away from home, becoming the sixth Indian pacer to the feat joining the likes of Kapil Dev, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Javagal Srinath.

Bumrah, however, scripted a world record with that dismissal becoming the bowler with fewest Test wickets to 100 dismissals away from home. While Bumrah has picked 101 wickets outside India, in 25 matches at 20.68 and at a strike rate of 47.6, his career tally stands at 105. Those four wickets came in only two Tests which he played at home.

Bumrah surpassed Amir, who had picked 118 career wickets at the point of his 100th away dismissal. Among Indians, the previous record holder was Zaheer Khan (137), followed by Shami (140).

Hailing Bumrah's breakthroughs, batting coach Vikram Rathour said, "That's the quality of the bowler, he really set him up well", as he refered to the probing line by the pacer which had Van der Dussen unsure whether to play or leave the ball before misjudging the crucial delivery.
Talking about the final delivery, which saw the dismissal of Maharaj, Rathour said, "That's what you expect from somebody like him. But all of us bowled really well. They were bowling really good lines."

Damn, what a bowler. To generate that pace from a few skips. Freakish.

Kapil Dev is still our best bowler as he was lone warrior for us in the 80s.
Zaheer is 2nd best.
Shami the 3rd best.
Bumrah is 4th best.
Srinath 5th best.
Ishant 6th best.

He has won us more SENAW series than the fab four combined.
Bumrah is definitely our best ever fast bowler

His inswinging yorkers out of nowhere are tremendous.

Kapil Dev is still our best bowler as he was lone warrior for us in the 80s.
Zaheer is 2nd best.
Shami the 3rd best.
Bumrah is 4th best.
Srinath 5th best.

Lol thats a terrible list... considering all formats bumrah would be the best indian bowler of all time..

No way. Kapil is still our best ever pacer, by far. As for all formats, Bumrah is still a miserable failure in ICC trophies. Let him do something worthwhile before calling him our best all formats bowler.

Bumra is miserable failure in ICC trophies like Tendulkar.
But he has enough to to perform on bigstage.
I am pretty sure that Bumrah will end up as a great indian bowler in all formats.

Kapil was considered an all rounder, also pitches in 80s and 90s supported bowling more...

Doesnt matter he was integral in historical wins overseas...
