Pak chasing 275, this by all means has all the ingredients to be a cracking game.

Afridi opening perhaps ? :13:

depends how we play bond.. no i would not have afridi open!

Only problem with Afridi opening is..it disrupts the whole batting order. Both Hafeez and Farhat are openers, and if you bring either of them down, it seems unnatural. Plus, if you put them down to no.3, yk will seem out of place.

Afridi should come up a little I think, but not all the way to the top.

Malik is a good hitter, why not move Malik to no.3, swap him with yk..that way we can have good hitters early on who can propel the run rate. yk, did a good job at no.6 when we last toured India.

malik is fine at no.5 i says.

only player we can afford to experiment is Afridi & perhaps Hafeez at no.3

hey jonty..I think the new zealand batsmen played really well. FLeming and Styrs both a treat to watch..nice to see the new zealand team come back to form and put up a good total.

Afridi should open or come in no.3
his average is considerably higher, also the fact that he enjoys batting vs new zealand

Havent followed any of the match so far - but heard that Pak had NZ 20 odd for 3?

How did Pak perform?

Afridi should come above Razzaq and Akmal. No experimentation required. Hafeez and Farhat are more than capable of providing Afridi-type starts (even if the opening bowler is Bond!)

Not 20/3 but 60/3. That was the score when Fulton got out. Pakistan bowling at the death was atrocious and fielding even moreso! NZ batsmen were able to get doubles with ease while our fielders jogged towards the ball

and crappy bowling, cant belive we didnt even bowl a singer yorker, all length bowls.

Gul did bowl one yorker to McCullum, which was squeezed away for four. Poblem with yorkers, you get it wrong you are going to end-up with full-tosses which would be smacked for boundaries all day long

Bond Bond Bond! What is wrong with some of you guys ? Get agrip!

I am more worried about how we play Vettori and Patel. We are awful against Left arm spin.

It can be done but some poor decisions from the Skipper made things worse and his decisions werent backed up by Razzaq and Rana. Rana shouldnt have been given a 2nd spell and for some reason he didnt give Hafeez ago. A strange call I think.

There is no Patel in this match

I expect a big innings from Younis today with the rest batting around him. Leave Afridi and Razzaq down the order with 70/80 needed from the last 10 overs, they are the men for the job.

A crash-bang-wallop end to an innings which seemed to be drifting towards a mediocre total. Oram, Styris and McCullum all hit well in the latter stages, but Pakistan's bowlers, who had been impressive early on, fell apart and their fielding then came off the rails as well. The pitch is full of runs and Pakistan certainly have the firepower to ensure they are very much in with a shout. This could be one of those rarities in this tournament - a good, close game.

Saala Motta Daarhi Waala must have let the game drift away, after pinning the opposition down...how many times we have seen this before!

Praying in Public, standing for the honor of the country, rescuing the team all his life after almost every batting collapse, and then on top of this...being the uniter of a team that never wanted it in the first place :12:

I can't take it any more...can our democratically elected and honorable Dr. Naseem Ashraf, oft spoken off highly but never saying a word in Public or Media, rid Pakistan of this Malaise.

I will pray for that to happen but only in Private cause Public praying is never a good thing :26:

i missed the new z innings, dam 100 off the last 10, seems like new z gave a taste of our own medicine

we need a good start, hopefully hafeez and farhat can provide that and the rest can do there job!

how is the pitch guys? is it spinning/swinging?

I say we lynch this Muyazzim guy...how dare he accuse our brilliant captain of poor tactics and how he forgot to bowl one of our best spinners at all

Oye Zimmaay, tera huun ki howaay gha...let the throwing begin :p

Pakistan will chase this easier than people think. Lots of power batsmen and people who perform under pressue. The Kiwi attack isn't that threatening either apart from Bond and maybe Vettori.

boys, haven't we learnt - our boys love looking down the barrell...this brings out the best in them! Inshallah we will put up a good fight.

Good one Monsee bro! :))

No I like Younis dont get me wrong but I assumed he would have more sense. I hope he learns from his mistakes, it will take time but inshallah he will learn quicker than some of our "specialist Openers".

In saying that Farhat has a good record V Kiwis in the Sub Con, so it could be his day. Hopefully I haven't put the mockers on him.

:)

Also, take a look at my post right before the one that you replied to

10 runs off Bond's first over. A cracking drive from Hafeez, the last one. Bond seems to be a little tentative. Not going all out.

Good start.

This is the biggest total of the main round right? Can't be all that wasy. However the pitch is better than most so let's see.

Dropped at slip! Bond finds Farhat's edge, and dropped at first slip by Fleming.

Dropped by Flemo :D at first sleep phheeeew :D

hafeez needs to face bond i feels, and farhat mills!

saying that next ball

444444444444444444444 to farhat cheetah :11:

was a poor ball on farhats hips, worked away in the air for 4.

come on farhat cheetey, concentrate play straight :D

That dropped catch shouldn't deter them from playing their shots!

Farhat gone! caught at deep third man. Farhat was too ambitious there.

slashed again, wide out side, goes to 3rd man, where mills makes no mistake.

22 for 1

Say what you will about Farhat. But the man looks so damn stylish when batting.

I cannot believe how he has got out. Chasing the wide one and it was always going to beat him for pace and bounce.

on another day, could have taken the top edge n sailed over the boundary ropes for a 6, but not today farhat, bond picks up his first.

Younis needs to score a solid 80 if we are to win this one, he missed out in the first one , time to show that captaincy material i feels.

23 for 1
