Wow Butt gone already? How did he get out...
His wife said. We have come to England for the first time..lets go for a stroll..so he got out and came back first ball

he was LBW first ball

LOL Oxy

Looks bad for Pakistan at this point...

They should just go all defensive.

pakistan managed to upgrade themselves from 2 slips and a gully to 3 slips, one farword short leg, one silly midon and a gully offcourse ....

Three slips, two gullys, a shortleg

Harmison has to get his radar right

Hoggard to Faisal Iqbal, FOUR, fuller and he drives it past mid-off for four. Lovely shot and a good start this by Iqbal who has looked solid, and is reading the swing with competence.

Good to see from the youngster.

the amount of times butt has got out like in the first innings has gone beyond a joke. how hard is it to move your front foot to the pitch of the ball rather then having a lazy swat.

Thanks Will. Hello everyone. Now then, this is interesting stuff, isn’t it? But before we talk about the here and now, we’ve had a lot of emails in about Afridi batting at No 9. Of course he bats higher than that; he only came in that low in the first innings because of the nightwatchman above him. We know that. And, if Pakistan are serious about chasing they may even boost Afridi right up the order to give England a scare or three. Either way, his entry certainly won’t be dull - but in the meantime, back to the action; Imran Farhat and Faisal Iqbal are out there to entertain us.

From C info

butt should be told to just go for it like he did in sydney...he's playing with too much fear!!

how many overs do you think harmiee and hoggard will bowl each in their opening spells???

Geoff Boycott is laughing at our openers - says at this rate, we wont get 250! But hes having a dig at England for not being good enough to exploit Pak's weaknesses.

Very stupid of Strauss not to declare last night at the end of day 4 ;s play. Pak are not gonna chase 380 in 80 overson the last day of a test match. If the target was like 350 and Pak had 90 overs to chase they would have gone for the win but now I think they will only defend.

Of all the injuries, why was not Salman butt in that list. someone please go and injure him. please. what was he doing fo rthe last 3 months?

I'm sorry, but what harm would it have done to send Afridi opening? WE're 0-1 in any case. Also, we would be sending England a message that we're here to win! England would have gone on the defensive. Believe me, England is a different team when playing defensively.

Factor in his awful awful fielding he makes a poor cricketer. We have a problem with youngsters who show promise but fail to improve their game and just fade away rapidly. Butt, Farhat, Taufeeq, Faisal just to name a few.

Harmison to Imran Farhat, no run, swivelled off the hips to square; confident, attacking shot

hes goe she cant dance to save his life but iuf he gets to the final hll win coz the public like him

Bad shot by Farhat, shouldnt be tempted into these wide balls outside the off stump.

TERRIBLE SHOT BY FARHAT say the commentators (Farhat is thinking 'good shot yaar')

Went for the big shot, DREADFUL shot is how Gower puts it

BBC singing the praises of Shoaib Malik - and still taking the pi55 out of our current openers!

Flicked away very nicely for 4 by Iqbal

Sweetly timed

Well I can only quote the radio commentators on BBC...

Here's the field: three slips, two gullies, short cover, wide mid-on, short square-leg. No-one under the lid at present, oh and a fine leg. The ground is filling up slowly, but still oodles of space, so if you're based around London why not head down? And if you're not, stick with us!

I will stick around and you guys near London do go.

If these two can play out the first 15-20 overs, I dont think we'll have many problems forcing this game to a draw!

If he missed that, he was dead though.

Next ball is a gaffe, very well bowled

The influence of the Farhat gene there. His older brother, Humayun would have doen exactly the same, but except the difference with him is that he would have obliterated the ball to smithereens. :16:

they should have had afridi opening...he would at least have played some shots and entertained..butt just seems short of confidence!
