Some guys here are idiotically hoping that we will win. Get real! In these situations a team must keep wickets in tact and play out the overs and then and only then if there is a chance have a go.

The problem is we were just 50 runs short of 500, if Faisel Iqbal in the first innings and the openers had put a better start we could have been in a better position in this test match.

Next test match Taufeeq Umar will open the innings with Farhat. And Younis Khan will be back than hopefully. And our strike bowlers will still be not in the playing 11. So that means we should make a big score and our batsman need to click in, Afridi and Kaneria will do the job.

To be honest, they only need Yusuf and Inzi's wickets, the rest should be easy. England are 37-3 at the moment, as I would not count Afridi's as a wicket they have to take...he will give it away himself.

What are the alternatives?

Get someone like Bazid Khan to open or try out Rafatullah Mohmand or some other players. Those who criticise Malik should have a good look at these specialist openers. Malik played a blinder in SL with a vicious 5th day turning pitch against Murali. These boys are mentally weak and technically flawed. At least Taufeeq has 4 tons and is a quality slipper. I reckon we must replace Butt with Taufeeq.
