DLF Cup - W.I v india (game 2)

If you check my earliar posts I did admit ,today he played a rare good innings(surprised! No slowing dwn approaching his century)..we wud have won the game , considering we were playing W.I.

I say sissy attitude cos..

1) He never scores wen chasing huge scores ( sharj 97 n Wc 2003 vs Pak only two exceptions)

- Geez u sure as hell forgot SRT's 90 odd against Warne & Mcgrath in WC
96 when the team was something like 40/5

- You sure as hell forgot the 93 he made chasing a 260 plus target
against Pak in Hobart..

- You sure as hell didint mention the 140 odd he made chasing 320 odd
against Pak at Rawalpindi against Aktar and Co..

- You sure as hell didint mention the 95 odd he made against Pak's 280
odd in lahore..

2) His centuries are mostly n first innings..india endup being atleast 20-30 runs short cos of him slowing dwn nr his 100 .[/B]

No proof here, just a statement, show me proof....

3) every time he gets out he acts as if it was a wrong decision or there was somthing in the pitch or it was an unplayable ball etc etc

Yeah thats so correct thats why I saw him walk back without even looking at the umpire when he was given out helmet before wicket. Mate I live in Aus all me aussie freinds were telling me they felt bad for SRT...

Now regarding the unplayable balls, agree partially he has done it twice in my memmory once against LEE & once against ASIF cant recall any other. Either way that is just a stupid point to bring into this debate..

I cud jolt down a few more if required...hey n gues wat ' I used to be a huge fan of tendu'..not a blind one though! :19:[/QUOTE]

Personally I couldnt care less if you were or are a fan of his.... Just dont be a hyprocrite your DRAVID we all know looks like a champ when Wasim's, Waqar's, Donalds, Devillures etc had retired ALWAYS REMEBER THAT..

BREAKING NEWS:

Indian Cricket GOD caste down to Earth

The WHOLE India that has turned a master magician int an IDOL has be dejected by the ALMIGHTY at the DLF Cup here on Thursday. The Indian Cricket GOD Sachin "Endulker" Tendulkar was making his comeback after injury against the Windies before the start of the ICC Champions trophy made a teriffic comeback but in vain. Tendulker plaed according to this writer's opinion a great knock, silencing his critics by letting his bat do the talking. Along with Irfan "Kanna" Pathan (who made 62 runs) put on a formadible partnership when Dravid was dismissed. After pathan a slight middle order collapse occured but Tendulker with Raina smashed the ball all over the park and made 148 n.o. not only ot carry the bat but also to take India to 310, a target worth bowling. Finally the Indians hav an oportunity to cheer & bellow for their Cricketing GOD. But there was the ALMIGHTY that they forgot & who could hav guessed that HE would have the LAST LAUGH.
Windies started the chase with Gayle going Beserk & smashing the ball all over the park; by the way the pitch is a batting PARADISE. Chanderpaul went cheaply but then stepped out the Carribean KING Brian "Hip-Hop" Lara. He with Gayle started the flow of runs again as a twinkle came to his eyes that the ALMIGHTY has PLANS. The first set of showers came & went & Dravid thanked the sky, but his bowlerws were stil getting duped up by the Windies duo. Only after Gayle's Departure that Indians haad a sigh of relief. But incame Sarwan & looked threatening. Lara released his Arsenal in Bhaji's over to loft him for a six & a four to take Windies to 142/2 in 20 overs.
The ALMIGHTY had enough of hide & seek & sent the rain pouring AGAIN. This time though it was HEAVY...VERY VERY HEAVY. the ground took its toll & the famous (BIG B*** S***) Dukworth-Lewis (these guyz were test tube babies meaning aftifical birth)method came into PLAY. in its context in 20 overs if Windies score 113/2 in 20 overs They WIN the match or VICE VERSA. Windies knoiwing this were 141/2 in 20 overs thus making them VICTORS of this encounter by 29 Runs.
Endulker was declared MOM but the Bottom Line remains same:
"THERE IS NO ONE WHO CAN MATCH THE SKILLS, TALENTS, CREATIVITY, TACTICS, ETC of the ALMIGHTY"

this is b0wld reporting from the flodded stands (the hotels were al booked) of Kuala Lampur Stadium

sry,I meant only high scoring matches.

Whats your definition of high "scoring game"? Ask England, 150 odd runs were pretty darn hard to chase in their last ODI!!

A few years ago (when Sachin started), 250 was impossible to chase. Remember 1992 WC final?

Yeh....it was also getting pretty hot here too! ;-) :P :)

Nothing better than watching two Indians arguing over Tendulkar.

Not to mention 2 Indians bashing their own players.

Jusarrived on tendu and Romali on Dravid all on a Pakistan forum!

I would just say that India is one of the unluckiest teams in the world. But as the saying
goes "Luck favors the brave!". I have seen so many possbile Indian victories washed away
in rains. But I guess we are not brave enough to the impossible.

The Indian cricket team is unlucky, reminds me of those 2 one run Aussie victories in world cup 87 and 92, and plenty more close games, where India failed to finesh off, the 1st game of the vb series in 2004, where India seemed to be crusing but lost the game, and Indias 3rd match vs Australia in 2004 in the vb series, Australia needed 7 off 3, B lee hit a six, and got one run to win it for the Aussies.

I am sorry but what is unlucky if you can't finish off the game. Does it mean WI were unlcuky also when they lost against WI? You have to give credit to Aus where they pulled back the game from nowhere. The players who cannot perfrom underpressure are not worthy to have it.

west indies didnt have any world class batsman to come in after lara and sarwan, thats why i feel they were less likely to chase 309 had it been a 50 over match

Its happened to India many times, since they started cricket, I think they are unlucky.

they still had lara and Sarwan and they could have beaten the alone and as far as india were unlucky first odi against England for Pakistan on the last tour.

If you think close (one run) losses are being "unlucky" then I am afraid India is not the unluckiest of the major teams;
Code:
[B]Team	ODIs	1 run /1 Wkt Losses %[/B]
SL	502 1 0.20%
SAF	355 2 0.56%
ENG	445 3 0.67%
BAN	133 1 0.75%
IND	625 6 0.96%
ZIM	303 3 0.99%
PAK	641 7 1.09%
AUS	626 7 1.12%
WI	541 7 1.29%
NZ	497 8 1.61%

So......first of all India is NOT the "unluckiest" team...NZ is!

Then...like somebody else mentioned, lossing/winning a very close game in ODIs, boils down to nerves not the lady luck!! Remember your WC-99 game vs ZIM. That was certainly a poor performance - not being unlucky! Pak lost to WI in 1975 WC-Semi Final by 1 wkt due to a 60+ run 10th wkt partnership......I'd say, if you can't get #11 out in a partnership of 60+ run, you are not unlucky....you just didn't deserve to be in the final!!!

Even today's game, WI planned their first 20 overs. They knew rain was coming....so they batted the way they batted and made sure they win.....but what did India do?? India wins the toss and bats - knowing that it will rain in the afternoon!!! Even 6 year old child knows that you are better off chasing if D/L method is going to play part in the result. Not alway but mot of the time! So, I'd say quite blaming your stars and ......be happy that Sachin is back and he is back with a bang!!! :P

Also, here is 1 run/1 wkt wins in ODI....."luckiest ;-) team" on the top!
Code:
[B]Team	ODIs	1 run or 1 Wkt Wins %[/B]
WI	541 10 1.85%
ZIM	303 4 1.32%
NZ	497 6 1.21%
SAF	355 4 1.13%
AUS	626 7 1.12%
ENG	445 4 0.90%
PAK	641 5 0.78%
IND	625 3 0.48%
SL	502 2 0.40%
BAN	133 0 0.00%

By the way, did the day light became bigger with today's knock??? :)

If you can't finish the game then you are not good enough. There is no luck involved with it.

Even if it is luck, India's bowlera re to blame. They should not be going at 7 an over. It is their own fault with the rubbish they were bowling.

True..........the bowlers were to blame for yesterdays loss, Pathan should be out of the team for the next game, far too expensive for odis, dont know why they did'nt give Sreesanth a chance.

Than they don't have that extra bowling/batting dimension in their team although since Irfan has become the number three his bowling has been way off
