India not 'dharmshala,' Ranchi 'converted to Karachi': BJP wants action against alleged infiltration in Jharkhand

In a lead-up to the Jharkhand assembly elections, BJP leaders have sharpened their focus on the issue of "infiltrators," which they claim is a growing and unchecked threat to the state. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav have all raised concerns about what they describe as unchecked infiltration allegedly encouraged by the ruling JMM-led coalition for political gain.

Chouhan warned that Jharkhand is being overrun by "infiltrators," eroding the state's cultural and demographic identity. He accused the JMM-led government of treating India like a "dharmshala" for outsiders, prioritising vote-bank politics over the protection of Jharkhand’s indigenous communities. According to Chouhan, these "infiltrators" are allegedly marrying tribal women to gain a foothold, which he sees as a “serious threat” to Jharkhand’s population balance. He cited statistics claiming that the tribal population in Santhal Parganas has dropped from 44% to 28% due to these incursions.

"The JMM alliance considers these intruders as its vote bank," Chouhan said, alleging that the ruling coalition has provided illegal immigrants with voter IDs, Aadhaar cards, and ration cards. He argued that this influx compromises the state's resources and identity, benefiting only the ruling parties and their interests. Chouhan promised that, if voted to power, the BJP would implement a citizenship register to identify and expel these "infiltrators," which he claimed is essential to preserve Jharkhand’s cultural fabric.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma echoed Chouhan’s sentiments, stressing the need for communal unity to counter the alleged infiltration. Using the slogan, “Ek rahoge to safe rahoge” (You will be safe if you remain united), Sarma emphasised that only a united electorate can prevent "infiltrators" from destabilising Jharkhand. He linked the issue of infiltration to broader concerns over women's safety, warning that "unchecked Bangladeshi infiltration would pose a serious threat to the state's families and communities."

He warned that if the BJP were not voted into power, "infiltrators" would invade homes, putting "wives, daughters-in-law, and daughters at serious risk." Sarma further promised, "We will remove ministers like Alamgir Alam and Irfan Ansari, who have plundered Jharkhand, just as we drove Babar out of Ayodhya."

Recently Union Home Minister Amit Shah also had accused the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha for allegedly being lenient on the issue of "infiltration" and claimed that the tribal population in Jharkhand was declining due to the government's treatment of "Bangladeshi infiltrators" as a vote bank.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also had voiced these concerns, stating that the JMM-led government had been settling "Bangladeshi infiltrators" across Jharkhand for electoral gain. Modi pointed to actions such as disallowing Saraswati Vandana in schools and incidents of stone-pelting during festivals, claiming they highlighted the gravity of the issue. He warned that if the government’s policies persisted, the indigenous Adivasi community in Jharkhand would face further marginalisation, losing their livelihood, daughters, and land.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav added his voice to the criticism, accusing the JMM-led coalition of converting Ranchi into Karachi. He claimed that Hindus are facing increasing atrocities in Jharkhand, and blamed both the JMM and Congress for the decline of the Hindu population due to infiltration from Bangladesh. Yadav further alleged that the JMM-led coalition was deliberately fostering these "infiltrations" for vote-bank politics, putting the state’s resources and culture at risk.

Alleged illegal immigration from Bangladesh has long been a sensitive issue in Assam, Tripura, and West Bengal. Now, it has become a prominent topic in Jharkhand, with the BJP highlighting it as a key issue in the upcoming elections. As the BJP intensifies its campaign in Jharkhand, the party is raising the issue not just a local governance concern but as a matter of national security and cultural preservation.

India's top court bans 'bulldozer justice' as punishment

India's Supreme Court has said that authorities cannot demolish homes merely because a person has been accused of a crime and has laid down strict guidelines for any such action.

The ruling comes in response to a number of petitions seeking action against authorities using demolition as a punitive measure against those accused or convicted of crimes.

"The executive [the government] cannot become a judge and demolish properties. The chilling sight of a bulldozer demolishing a building reminds one of lawlessness where might was right," the Supreme Court said on Wednesday.

It also directed authorities to give sufficient time to the affected person to challenge the order or vacate the property.

The ruling comes against a backdrop of a spate of instances, where authorities in states, particularly governed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), have used demolition as a tool to punish people accused of crimes.

The reason cited is illegal construction but experts have questioned the logic and say there is no legal justification for doing this.

While victims include Hindu families, such demolitions have mostly targeted Muslims, especially after religious violence or protests, opposition leaders and activists say.

The BJP denies the allegation and state chief ministers have linked demolitions with their tough stance on crime.

During the hearing on Wednesday, the Supreme Court used strong words to criticise the practice.

"Such highhanded and arbitrary actions have no place in a constitutional democracy," it said, adding that officials "who took the law in their hands" should be held accountable.

The court then issued guidelines, which make it mandatory for authorities to give a 15-day notice to an occupant before the alleged illegal property is demolished.

The notice should explain the reasons for demolition. If the accused does not respond to the notice within 15 days, authorities can proceed with the action but they would be required to film the process, the court said.

It also warned that violating these guidelines would amount to contempt of court.

The court has strongly criticised extrajudicial demolitions throughout the hearing.

Earlier this month, it observed that demolishing properties merely because a person was accused of a crime was "simply unacceptable under rule of law".

It also observed that citizens' voices could not be silenced by the threat of demolition.

While the Supreme Court's guidelines can be seen as a positive step towards preventing such demolitions from becoming the norm, observers point out that implementing the order will be key in ensuring the practice stops.

Human rights group Amnesty International praised the ruling, saying that though it has come late, it is a welcome move in upholding the rights of the people.

"This is a big win in ending the deeply unjust, widespread, unlawful and punitive demolitions, mostly targeting the minority Muslim community, by the Indian authorities which have often been peddled as ‘bulldozer justice’ by ruling party political leaders and media," the organisation said in a statement.

Good try , but can you tell me what is tangible performance?

Better foreign reserves, better infrastructure, never going to IMF, high FDI, more R and D.

Our foreign policy is way more pragmatic, we have good relations with Russia West etc.
Didn’t know Russia was close to Pakistan considering US made you lock your elected PM in a jail for just visiting them, we have complete control on our government.

Nepal and India had similar issues before as well we still have an open border with them, with Lanka this is the best situation we have had since China bankrupted them.

Maldives issue might actually work for India in the long term if India can develop Lakshwadeep but time will tell.

With Pakistan that’s on Pakistan, they have actual firing issues with everyone around them.

We have that issue only with Pakistan, even with China no bullets get fired but yes we have an issue with them, with other countries we actually only have wording issues not missile kind.
So if you were neighbors with Afghanistan, you believe you would not have had any -- speaking in your terms -- "firing" or "missile" issues with Taliban government?

Read the article again. No BJP person said anything about Pakistan. They were merely complaining about infiltration from Bangladesh, which is a genuine concern in many parts of Eastern India.
The reference to Karachi in the headline is merely a figment of the silly editor's imagination.

Pakistan is not at all an election issue in India.

I will suggest you to either have a Google search or tour of this thread. You are greatly mistaken.

Owned by China states, not pro-China.
And that would have happened even if there had been no BJP in India.

Why couldn't they have been owned by India? How come China got to sweep up all of what used to be India territory less than a century ago?

A more pertinent question is as to why they should be owned by anyone at all. Why could they not have developed their own economies and sustained themselves like India has, instead of asking China, US, et.al for loans that they cannot repay?

Yes that is a very valid question, but since they are incompetent or corrupt that hasn't happened. But you were the one who said that Pakistan was owned by China, so my question to you was why couldn't India have swept up Pakistan if they were so easy to buy off? After all it was formerly Indian territory not Chinese. How come you didn't answer that?

Because India wants as little to do with Pakistan as possible. 'Sweeping up' Pakistan would mean providing for a lot of elements that hate India to the core, and want nothing other than its complete destruction. No way India wants that.

Does that answer your question?

So if you were neighbors with Afghanistan, you believe you would not have had any -- speaking in your terms -- "firing" or "missile" issues with Taliban government?
Yes it would be similar to how Myanmar is, Rogue state but not doing anything fancy.

Afghanistan has borders with many countries issue is only with Pakistan.

Pakistan Joined the war of US twice .. did any nation next to it has done?

That's true, that bad decision is on us. So you seem to be one of the rare Indians who seems to think the Taliban ruling Afghanistan would not have been a problem for any neighboring countries, if left well alone? Would that be a fair characterization of what you are saying here?

I’m saying there won’t even be an Taliban overall if Pakistan wasn’t bordering them, who else would US base, would USSR had attacked them probably, but it would still be different not this taliban just some mix.

Also FYI I have shared it before but I’m sure you saw Faiz’s picture having Tea in Kabul after Taliban take over?

This is continual interference and not learning any lessons.

Also because you shared one skirmish article which BTw India has with others too, here is a broader picture of Taliban with other countries:

Is Taliban right? Effin no , Despicable people but Pakistan has massively enabled this monster.

It's actually the other way round, and India's attempts to damage Pakistan financially via any means possible including sports boycotts are demonstrable proof of this. This is why as you so tactlessly suggested, Pakistan as a smaller nation ends up being "owned" by China. Fine if you want nothing to do with Pakistan, but then don't complain when competitors in Asia build alliances which might impact India.

Having an Anti Muslim stance for a major political party itself is a huge achievement. For decades the anti national secular politics of Congress conditioned Bharatiyas into not attempting to even speak against the muslims. We had parties like Shiv Sena and fringe elements like Bajrang Dal etc speaking against Muslims but no major party used to talk against muslims. BJP turned the Bharatiya politics upside down by bringing the Islamophobia awareness in our national politics.

Bharat deals with a major Muslim problem. Majority of them are anti national , anti Hindu and have no respect towards indegenous culture and are only conspiring to bring Islamic caliphate in Bharat. In short they are a time bomb which will explode the moment they have significant political clout. They are a direct threat to the very existence of Hinduism and Bharat’s hindu DNA in the longer run. We simply cannot have a surviving and thriving Hindu nation if we do not resolve our Muslim problem at the earliest.

Ideas like population swap with Pakistan, Bangladesh must be actively pursued while at the same time Bhara my must work towards correcting the wrong doings of 1957 to bring about a transformative prop Hindu demographic change in the entire subcontinent.

We will have to take up drastic measures then because there is no way we can expect to become #1 country in the world with 400-500 million anti nationals living amongst us. Population swap is a logical step towards that. If Pakistan, Bangladesh do not cooperate we will have to redraw the borders to adjust the demographics of this region in favour of Sanatan Dharma.

Do you mean another partition? That would be lovely.

Another partition of India could mean increased peace in the region.

I agree, carving India into further pieces is the only solution. I mean, from a social, economical and political level, India is segregated to the core already - so wouldn't make much of a difference anyway.

A better alternative would be to allow Muslims to live as they did previously in India before the rise of hindutva. I would say around 30-40 years ago, Muslims in India actually were patriotic for the most part, many were in fact anti-Pakistani outside of Kashmir. If Muslims can live happily in the UK or Canada, why not India? There would be no anti national element among Muslims if they felt part of the nation again without having to compromise their faith.

Today the most anti Pakistani muslims are Kashmiris.

Majority of UP-Bihari, Hyderabadi muslims are Pakistanis by heart.

Why are you so confident that another partition cannot happen? It can happen under right circumstances.

300 years ago, who would've thought India would be partitioned in year 1947?

The partition of India in the new millennium has already begun. Millions are fleeing India.

Nothing wrong in dreaming. After all, a lot of Pakistanis and Bangladeshis also dream that Israel will soon cease to exist.

Just like you dream Palestine would never be free?

Just like you dream India would become lumber one in everything?
Number 1? India? I'd be extremely happy if my country's GDP Per Capita reaches $10,000 before I die. And I'm 38.

A million people get born here every day. If anything we are spreading across the world at an exponential rate. Sanatanis assets have infiltrated every major nation on earth. Our soft power in immense. After USA, no country on the planet comes close to us in soft power and very soon we will replace them given our global assets outmatch the Yanks royally.

The world is in better hands with the rise of Sanatan.

China wipes the floor with India when it comes to soft power and hard power.

They are delusional, they still cannot explain why if they hate the British so much they are desperate to flee to the UK, and West for that matter, so desperate they will give up their Indian citizenship. Why if they hate Islam so much are they desperate to move to the Middle East for a better life? Why if they seek an identity do they adopt a foreign language and follow the culture of the West? To prove they are educated and advanced?

I am telling you, these Hindutva keyboard warriors have no idea themselves of what they represent - the power of ignorance combined with brainwashing.

They can do all these things by relabelling just about anything as Indian and claiming for themselves. There was a show Goodness Gracious Me which had some amazing spoofs of this mentality, and best thing was it made by British Indians who had first hand experience.

In India’s tribal-dominated Jharkhand, BJP labels Muslims as ‘Bangladeshis’

Sitting at a dusty roadside tea stall with his friends in Bada Sanakad village in the tribal-dominated eastern Indian state of Jharkhand, Abdul Gafur is furious.

“Who says we are Bangladeshi infiltrators? Hear me out, we are the registered citizens of India. To date, God knows how many of our generations have passed away on this land. So, do not insult our ancestors by calling us infiltrators,” said the 46-year-old farmer, as nearly a dozen of his companions, most of them Muslims, nodded in agreement.

Gafur is a Muslim, a community in Jharkhand that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been painting as “Bangladeshi infiltrators” for months as it seeks to unseat a coalition of opposition parties, led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), in the two-phase state assembly election that started on November 13.

Bid to break anti-BJP voting bloc?

Bada Sanakad falls in Jharkhand’s Pakur district, which together with Godda, Deoghar, Dumka, Jamtara and Sahibganj districts form what is known as the Santhal Pargana region, which votes in the second phase of the election on Wednesday. The region, with 18 seats in the 81-member state assembly, is dominated by tribal groups, who along with Muslims form about 50 percent of Santhal Pargana’s population and have traditionally been voting for anti-BJP parties.

Across Jharkhand state, the tribes and Muslims – at 26.2 percent and 14.5 percent respectively, according to the 2011 census – form nearly 41 percent of Jharkhand’s 32 million population.

Analysts say it is this pattern of voting among the tribals and Muslims that the BJP aims to break this year by invoking the “Muslim infiltrator” bogey. In 2019, the right-wing party won only four of 18 Santhal Pargana seats, while in the parliamentary elections earlier this year, the BJP failed to win the two seats reserved for the tribals and won one of the three from the region.

If people of Jharkhands are Bangladeshis then what about West Bengal. Thankfully BJP have never labelled Rajasthani as Pakistani Sindhis

How can anyone separate a Bihari Muslim from a Bangladeshi Muslim? Perhaps from accent? They all look the same and in turn they all look like Hindus.
Good luck to anyone trying to tell them apart. For the Bangladeshi Muslims who are born and brought up in India, they will be even more difficult to tell them apart from a Jharkhandi or Bihari or Oriya.

‘No Place For Waqf Law In Constitution’: PM Modi Accuses Congress Of Appeasement Politics

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday accused Congress of appeasement politics and said there is no place for Waqf law in the constitution.

Addressing BJP workers at the party headquarters in New Delhi, the Prime Minister said Congress tried to give “death penalty" to “real secularism.".

“Congress made laws for appeasement. It did not even care for SC. An example is Waqf Board. In 2014, these people while leaving many properties near Delhi were given to Waqf Board. In constitution, there is no place for Waqf law. But still Congress made this facility to make the family’s vote bank. Congress tried to give death penalty to real secularism," Modi said.

The PM also accused of Congress and its allies trying to build a wall between Kashmir and the rest of India by talking about bring back Article 370. He said that the victory of BJP-led alliance shows that people will not let it happen.

“Congress tried to make a wall of 370 in Kashmir again. Maharashtra categorically said ‘Ye nahin chalega’ (This will not work)," he said.

Modi said the sentiment of “Ek hain toh safe hain" has taught a lesson to those who make people fight in the name of caste, religion, language and region. “It has punished them. Tribals, OBCs, Dalits, every section of the society voted for BJP-NDA. This is a strong blow to the thinking of the entire eco-system of Congress and INDI alliance, which was running an agenda to divide the society…," he said.

‘2 ISI Agents, Bomb Blast Plot’: Cops Receive Message Threatening Attempt On PM Modi's Life

Mumbai Police on Saturday received a message threatening to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an official said.

The number from which the message was sent was traced to Ajmer in Rajasthan and a police team was sent there immediately to nab the suspect, said an official.

The WhatsApp message, received on the helpline of the traffic police in the early hours, mentioned two ISI agents and a plot to carry out a bomb blast to target Modi, he said.

The investigators suspect that the sender is a mentally disturbed person or was under the influence of alcohol but further probe was on, the official added.

A First Information Report was registered under the relevant Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections.

The helpline of the Mumbai traffic police has received hoax threat messages many times in the past.

Actions of Indians in recent times have even hardened the heart of a person like me who have always sought amicable friendships and commonalities.

However my eyes have been opened.

Most Hindus sadly hate Islam, Muslims and Pakistanis and have no respect for our religion despite claiming to be tolerant. They say the vilest things about our religion, rewrite their own histories and always seek to mock and ridicule.

Therefore I must now change my outlook on them too as they lack basic respect and manners.

Some Pakistanis and Bangladeshis have this naive belief that friendship with India is possible. Truth is India are never a friend of any Muslim state.

As a matter of fact, India even have issues with non-Muslim states like China, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.

Modern day India have issues with almost all neighboring states.

I completely agree with you. I’ve had similar experiences where I’ve tried to be respectful and focus on common ground, but many Hindus seem to have a deep dislike for Islam, Muslims, and Pakistanis. I’ve also had to change my outlook because you can’t keep giving respect when it’s not returned.

You're absolutely right

one of the biggest challenges we face is the lack of unity among ourselves.

Despite sharing the same faith, there are so many divisions based on sects, culture, and politics. Instead of focusing on what unites us, we often let these differences drive us apart.

It's frustrating because internal disunity weakens us, making it harder to address external challenges.

"Original Constitution Had Photos Of Lord Ram, Not Aurangzeb": BJP To Opposition

Former Union minister and BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad hit out at the Congress on Saturday, saying its leader Rahul Gandhi needs to change his tutor as he is unaware of facts, as he slammed the opposition party over Emergency.

Participating in a debate in the Lok Sabha on 75 years of the Constitution's adoption, Prasad said the framers of the Constitution knew that the Indian heritage is secular in nature as mentioned in the "Rigveda".

He said the original Constitution had pictures of Lord Ram, Lord Hanuman and Mughal emperor Akbar, but not of Babar and Aurangzeb.

He said in a hypothetical situation, if the Constitution was framed today, the opposition would have protested the insertion of such pictures in it.

Attacking the Congress over the imposition of Emergency in the country, the former law minister said lakhs of people were sent to jail and opposition leaders targeted.

He said the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reached here after facing lathis (sticks) and bullets during Emergency, unlike those who represent a family.

Prasad also slammed the Congress for failing to recognise the contribution of leaders, such as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. He claimed that none of the Congress leaders took their names in their speeches.
