Looks like Kohli is opening! Rahul may bat at No.4 or may well be dropped! Nehra may be preferred.
 
Won't bother watching if Pant is kept out. I really want to see him bat.
 
I don't think Kohli should become an opener (In any format!) He is a special player who can trigger or change the match situation. He is ideally not suited for setting up the game! I think we need Rohit back in the team very badly! We were hoping for a player more consistent than him, but it looks like others (I am talking about openers) are not even good enough to tie his shoes (for the moment) considering his monstrous daddy scores even though he lets down in some matches. We should not lose Kohli "the chaser" at any cost!
 
Not watching this. Pant is out. Rains gets a game.So do ashish nehra

T20 is all about entertainment,experimentation and youngsters getting a chance.We defy logic and bring oldies back even for t20s.
 
We have hacks like Dhawan blocking opening slot at ODIs, and we don't explore the alternatives even in a meaningless T20 series. What a joke.
 
Dhoni,Yuvi and Nehra are still playing T20's? What a joke. No wonder we didn't win the last World T20. If you are not willing to invest in younger talent, you don't stand a chance.

Don't think so.If we loose badly today we might see pant getting a chance next game.But if still not then maybe you are right.
 
Dhoni, Yuvi, Nehra, Raina were there in the team before IPL started. And still they are featuring as main players after 10 years. What has IPL given to Indian T20 Team then? And lol at IPL fans getting disappointed after looking at the playing eleven.
 
We are the only team who will play oldies in useless T20s and not play youngsters to gain valuable experience.

There are players.Team management is idiotic not to give them chance. You could only show talent if you are allowed to play. BTW pandya,manish pandey,chahal are IPL stars in this team.

Depends on how good a fielder Pant is becoz Dhoni won't give up the gloves. Mandeep may get in ahead of Pant just becoz of that.

The hype around Pant is a little too much for him to be ignored. He will surely get a chance, but three would have been better.

It's not about poor selection. IPL has failed to create alternatives of dhoni, yuvi, nehra and raina even after 10 years that is why we have to keep going back to them. Guys like yousuf pathan, gony came, played and were dropped but yuvi, dhoni, raina are still here.

I have no idea what has got into rahul, he is sooo uncomfortable batting nowadays! I think its negative mentality (in the sense that he is in the im in a bad form mentality)
 
Indian team is all about Kohli these days. We will lose half the matches if he decides to take a rest for 6 months.

Sort of true, but his consistency is just admirable. I'm glad that he is so fit and doesn't get injured.
 
We are playing against runner ups of the last T20 World cup so I won't be surprised if we lose this series.
 
Well, doubt India will get to a decent total now. Kohli gone, and RR not really great.

Need at 180+ against this England team when the track is flat.

Its been a bizarre match so far! I think Rahul will settle only with a long run in Tests (lets hope he maintains consistency at least there)! Too much glamour of LOI is killing him. Unfortunate he is following Uttappa's path another of his state mate who had similar talent, but poor attitude (and hence his downfall!) Everyone can't be like Kohli living with glamour & excel. Some people need discipline and focus!

One thing is sure Rahul lost his good defense due to his change of style for the demand of LOIs! That is going to affect his test batting as well. And people are calling for his opening slot! (where he actually belongs, otherwise there is actually no hope for him in middle order!)
 
Disaster,T20 captaincy is not easy with Indian team,Kohli needs to think better.

Yuvi should not be in T20 team. He should stick to ODI's.

Pandey seems to have lost it. He was in and out and now looks like he will be permanently out.

Nehra?? :))

Panda is a hack. Sooner or later he will be kicked out of the team.

Where is Pant? This was the time to Test youngsters.

Rahul should stick to Tests. He is made of glass. Just a yawn away from getting injured.
 
Be patient folks we have giants in our bowling lineup, so this total is enough :nehra

EVery batsman have struggled so much today, 170 could have been a winning total by 130 odd s really bad,luckily I never bank in short formats on Indian soil at home as there is no home advantage so I skipped the match :p

We do not have good history of alround horses. Ajit Agarkar (though he had moments with ball), Irfan (odd moments), Joginder Sharma :)) Stuart Binny...
 
Raina is such an important player... Besides Kohli, he is the only one looking comfortable today...

for some strange reason he is not valued much by the fans...

I think today was the right day for Rohit! First match of an inconsequential T20 series, batting first, no pressure whatsoever, partners having off-day, flat conditions, poor bowlers! I think 200 was on the taking first time in T20 history. Rohit please come back soon :)))
 
Dhoni has completely lost his hitting reflexes, barring the odd fours from half volleys.
 
pandya is an hack should play only as fast bowler that to if he doesn't trundle otherwise should be thrown out
 
The greatest finisher the world has seen plays 30 balls and scores 37 runs. If these are the returns then god can only help this indian team
 
Anybody still hopes dhoni has it in him to make a difference to this team? Even in settimg targets he waits for last over to do his hacking
 
People are calling this a flat surface, but from the few overs I watched, there seemed to be enough help for the bowlers. We may still have a chance here.
 
I don't think India will do too well with the dew and super strong English line-up

If England dont get off a a flying start, India can try and make it a scrap. Take it over by over, and just try and push the rate. Don't think they have the bowlers to do it though. Pandya and Bumrah will leak runs, whilst Rasool and Chahal are not Ashwin and Jadeja.
 
And then there is Duckett waiting in the wings.

England have scary depth in batting atleast in LOIs.
 
Rahul is the most weirdest guy i have seen. If he fails he fails spectacularly and doest even score in double digits. I think. He hasnot crossed 15 runs in this entire odi and t20 series?
 
Looks like dew has started its effect already from the score I see,aur karo rest 3-4 players ko :p
