England (148/3) defeat India (147/7) by 7 wickets in the 1st T20I

Very stupid of us to not play our IPL XI and instead go for INTL ones,Rohit's injury and selection of Yuvi,Rahul has dented our side completely,ideally would do away with Dhoni too.
 
Rahul & Yuvi shouldnt be in the T20 side.............. Oh well, I still think India should win this......LOL Nayyy not really
 
I have no hopes in this india limited overs team as it is like 90 s india all over where it is a one man army team
 
Our problem is the exact opposite of England.

We have very good young test batsmen coming through but not enough for the LOI format. It's why we are still stuck with Yuvi, Dhoni et al..

It's also a reason why I feel our test team has great potential but our LOI team is pretty overrated.

That's drastic, Bumrah-Pandya need to be retained they are of T20 type,Bumrah is usually a decent T20 player ,and just coz couple of recent matches cannot be dropped.

I think its because we are not giving them a chance to develop,if Jhadav was given a chance ahead of Yuvi in 2014 T20 WC maybe by now he would be a decent finisher.

We need to give some hard hitting players a chance already if not they would never even develop to one,do you remember Yuvi early on wasn't that big a hitter for 2-3 years.

Dhoni-Yusuf were the only ones who came into ICT and started smacking around.
 
We should have prepared some slow tracks for LOIs.

These guys are struggling a bit on these roads, could've strangled them on slow tracks.
 
This indian team will have first round exit in champions trophy if dhoni, yuvi, rahul plays

India, Bangladesh and Pak have struggled lately because of lack of clean hitters in the end. Atleast Pakistan had Razzak in the past and Afridi used to be handy.

Subcontinental players don't have that kind of power in their shots the same way Roy or Billings does.

Srilanka is one team that stands out. Genetically srilankans are comparatively well built compared to your average Indian or Bangladeshi( I can attest to the latter). Hence srilanka has some big hitters like Sekkuge Prasanna Thisara Perera. These two hit the ball into the abyss.

I don't think anyone sensible rate us even in ODI's. It's Kohli or bust. OZ have the best allround team going around. Maybe SA too but with them you never know. With the likes of Azam and Sharjeel, i don't think a team like pakistan is much worse than us either no matter what the rankings say. Our ODI team peaked in 2007-11 but it's been pretty meh since - CT 2013 win notwithstanding.

It's not about big hitters. We don't have too many stroke makers coming along. Rahane is too slow and Rahul is way too inconsistent.

Who do you have in mind other than Jadhav fitting the role of power hitters?

K Pandya ,Pant try both. Expected Sarfaraz to be in but he has lost the confidence now also his poor fitness,he did have the power to develop hopefully he does in 5 years time.

We've never had too many power hitters. Dhoni is probably the exception.

We've always relied on stroke players like Yuvi, Raina, etc., to help us in the lower order. Problem is that there are not enough stroke players coming through fitting the LOI role..

Streety what do u make of dhonis batting today? Played one fourth of the balls in a 20 over game and didnt score even fourty runs. Before his last over hoiks he scored 21 ball 24 as a finisher. Thats worse than an opener because he is not even taking risks to up the rate and he is llaying for his average and not outs
 
I can understanding Yuvi cashing in on that knock but what is Nehra doing in the team? And playing Manish at 6 in a T20 :danish Forget Pant, they haven't even played Jadhav :O That's Afridi level team selection

Yeah Dhoni and Yuvi were quite strong in their hey day but we mostly need brilliant timers of the ball. You still don't need to hit massive sixes if you can find the gaps and run your twos with the occasional boundaries. 1 or max 2 power hitters are more than sufficient.

Can any body tell me what has dhoni got to offer to indian team in 20 over cricket? He is a very big liability with a strite rate of 115 and he didnt score even single fifty in his entire career. There is no t 20 world cup planned in the near future and why is he blocking a younger player like pant? Is he there just for his specialist keeping? He will lose more matches with his batting than his keeping
 
Manish Pandey is untrustworthy as usual.

Yuvi seems like he struggled.

Dhoni seems like he stat boosted towards the end.

Rahul is hell bent on getting thrown out of the team.

Also it would be pretty cool to have our own version of the Akmal brothers in our team if both Pandyas play.:kakmal:uakmal
 
Pandya is showing how to bowl in this wicket, however the match was lost in the batting part itself, wicket has eased out under dew but a match could be made out of it after scoring 170+
 
We should just refuse to play on our republic and independence days.

I always remember us losing whenever we play on those days. Probably last year's republic day was the exception.

He came at 75 for 3 and not 96/6.india lost 6 th wicket at 116 and not 96.he played half the number if balls in last 10 overs and scored just 36 runs
 
This indian limited overs team is doomed for the near future and expect first round exits in icc tournaments because there is no single player who is consistent other than kohli. U cannot expect miracles from this ****** teams we r playing in odi and t 20 s
 
Root bowled twice in 2 balls yet he is standing there. He should have shown the sportsmanship and just leave the pitch. :dhoni

So the poor run at home in shorter formats (Odis and T20s ) continue for us, that's happen when you keep no home advantage in the pitches, there were no home advantage in tests after SA series as well but those were won on the basis of exceptional individual performances but difficult in Odis and T20s, Eng should sweep it 3-0, resting Bhuvi,Ashwin ,Jadeja,jadhav and injured Rohit....well done

We lost the home advantage as soon as we started IPL now don't cry when players like Morgan hit Indian bowlers all around the park on Indian pitches.

Yeah, that's probably the reason why we won WC 2011, and did well in the T20 WC, right? India lost home advantage when we started dishing out 350+ run battas given our opening and finishing woes.

The fact is, our openers in the shorter format suck and Dhoni's decline has made things worse. Kohli can't do everything on his own, and we need some more explosive players in the side.

Every thing is ipl's fault according to bhaag veeru bhag bhai. Its not the over hill players like yuvi, dhoni, nehra but just ipl

Did well in the T20 world cup? We play tons of games here in India we should have atleast made it to the final. It seems you are happy with the mediocrity atm.
 
I don't mind players sucking if they are new and given chances.

Its the oldies that get to me.

For years, people said where is Dhoni's replacement as finisher?

We may not yet have one but that ONE statement has taken away Jadhav's productive years.

Same arguments was made for Dhoni the test captain.

Who is the replacement is the worst argument ever. Cop out really.

If someone is poor for a long time, you replace them and try to find solution.

No, home advantage does not mean dishing out 350+ wickets in odis and 220+ wickets in T20s

IPL has made an impact in benefiting foreign players but not if we provide sporting wickets.However for T20 selecting such an old team is baffling,I mean 30% aren't going to be there till next World T20 comes!!! why not experiment fully when already 5 top players are being rested? why not 8 new players except Bumrah,Kohli,Pandya?
