BOOM! Absolutely brilliant from Stokes. He picks up the ball on the dive as Jadeja sends one down the field and his under arm throw clatters the stumps before Jadeja can get to the other end.

Stunning.
 
The spinner who never got a visa because of his religion/ethnicity must be feeling sick. Would have got a bucketload of wickets on this pitch.

Hartley is legitimately bowling good here, don’t think it’s fair to completely blame the Indian batsmen..

Honestly the difference maker was Ollie Pope’s knock
 
Bharat not reading spin properly. Going to get bowled or edge to slip by Hartley seems.

India conceded 180 for last 4 England wickets with Rehan and Hartley making great contributions. But honestly Pope's onslaught against Indian spinners is an unforgettable one regardless of result of this game
 
series in India will always be competitive if India don't resort to absolutely filthy dust bowls like they did in 2021.

I have never been convinced by India's home dominance. It's a sham

And the thing is that almost everyone agrees England got their team combination wrong here. I have no clue how England’s aggressive batting approach will fair on the square turners that are probably coming up, but surely it’s better than the abysmal batting performances England was putting up before.
 
These indian players are choker they can't even chase 150 with this looser mentality dravid think they can win this game with tuk tuk batting looser mentality playes and coach this Indian team deserve this humiliation

A soft dismissal but one that England will definitely celebrate as the last really established batter departs.

I don’t understand how a player with stats that are overall so average or even below average just continues to do such mind blowing things.

He’s always been a good fielder but looking at his bowling, his stats are horrible but I remember he always took important wickets. His batting stats aren’t that amazing either but he always plays match winning knocks.

Truly the definition of a match winner.
 
I am pretty sure dravid tell to these player's go and play defensive batting

I actually agree. India would be better off just making a couple changes. Your spinners are world class - but if the pitch is a dust bowl then England’s spinners who are not as good as yours will be just as effective.

It will backfire on India. England will play attacking cricket and take the spinners on. If they get 250 on dust bowls they will have India in big trouble.

Best bet for India is prepare green seamers and get shami bumrah firing. That's how Aussies countered England
 
Klrahul tuk tuk choking in pressure game - check. Ks bharat choking in any game- check. As I said before- any total above 150 and it gets tricky. Ind is done in this game. Bazball is not easy for any team to do it. Needs incredible skill and self belief and have to be prepared to lose.. awesome by eng. Good wake up call for ind

India keep talking about aggressive, fearless batting. We saw that during the 1st innings here, and during ICC tournament group matches in the last few years.

However when the stakes are high in tournament knockouts and the 2nd innings here - India's batsmen revert back to the norm. The big exception being Pant in Brisbane in 2021.

Alternatively, if India played "normal cricket" and ground England into the dust with a 500+ score which was easily attainable - they wouldn't be in this situation.

England will get extra runs with their attacking batting other side Indian batsman went into a shell and got out

I don't agree. I think Indian bowlers are more used to bowling on dust bowls especially since 2016 when kohli and shastri decided to play on pitches from hell against SA. That duo started this trend

Nah m8....a lot of us like to watch competive cricket, no matter who plays. I for one enjoyed Aamir Jamal performance in the aus tour. But yeah, those 'regulars' who were last seen we we lost 6 wkts for 0 on the first day of 2nd test in SAF are back and in fine voice :)...
kudos to Eng - they have played like the lions on their shirt....and deserve to win this...

No team has ever won a Test in India having conceded a 1st inns deficit higher than 65.

He did the same during WC Final. AUS were 80-3 and the spinners got a couple of outside edges but Rohit had the field spread.
 
The Indian team performs well, but in the end overconfidence sinks their performance.
 
Eng need Ashwin out ASAP. He has a great temperament and cant bat for long like he did in SCG while drawing that test.

Very important stat just shown on-screen.

India's rare home Test losses have come on sharper turning pitches. Dustbowls are no guarantee of success. If anything it brings the opposition's generally inferior spinners into the contest.

Well England always done well in first test matches in India. Last time England win the match before that India escape with a draw
 
This game is reminding me of 1st Ashes test last year....so close yet so far for Eng.

Maybe we should start producing lifeless roads like Pakistan does and get whitewashed at home.
