England (246 & 420) secure a tense 28-run victory over India (436 & 202) in the 1st Test in Hyderabad

2 incredible matches in the same day.. nothing beats Test cricket.

Feel like it was just beginning to lean towards India before that wicket fell.

Bharat b Hartley 28 - India 176-8

Hartley, what a beauty that is. He gets a five-for on debut with an absolute ripper that is pitched on middle and spins past Bharat's defensives.

That was a ridiculous shot from Ashwin.

Hartley on fire like Joseph in the Australian Test.

What a five-wicket haul from him! A heroic spell.

Five wicket hauls by England spinners on Test debut this century

5/64 Adil Rashid v Pak Abu Dhabi 2015
6/161 Will Jacks v Pak Rawalpindi 2022
5/48 Rehan Ahmed v Pak Karachi 2022
5/48 Tom Hartley v Ind Hyderabad 2024 *

Down the pitch is not a shot of Ashwin. Should've sticked to his game of staying in crease and playing the field.
Anyway it was a lost cause.
Gill and Jaddu are 2nd inning ka mujrim for me.

Tom Hartley is endearingly amateurish looking. Balding with a baggy, untucked shirt. Proper Sunday League stuff - but what a debut for him.

Good call from ENG. His FC stats aren't anything special but they felt his height and type of spin would suit Indian conditions.

Ashwin and Jaddu both did well for India in this match. Match ka mujrim is Shubman Gill

Anything except a win is not acceptable. Indian players must hang their heads in shame. Now they have to chase 4-1.

I mentioned 2nd inning ka mujrim. Jadeja was running on every ball. He was hell bent on taking few quick singles which resulted in wicket.

He will be going on holiday to Turkey once he sees his photo plastered in the papers.

Wonder if you should just bring back Wood for an over or two before the end of the day to get this last wicket.

Some ungainly tailend batting here.

And a no-ball.

This is brilliant :ROFLMAO:

Another brilliant test, these are games you want to see
Curse on corporate sector and greedy admins who pump money into setting up these forgettable leagues like ILT20 and SPL.

This is far better entertainment than whatever forgettable fare they're serving up.

What a game!! Disappointed I am unable to watch it. Who's the likely winner from here? How's the pitch?

Siraj wants to do something special for India. He is using the right footwork.

india zaleer hogyaaaa.

And they fall to their own spin trap..... ahahahahahah

To bad they couldnt stop his visa

how dumb are indian tailenders lol
siraj and ashwin both trying to be heroes

Man that is some great keeping. This is why you need good keepers behind the wickets.

Under Dravid and Rohit, we'll never win anything meaningful. Both are losers of highest order.

Ashwin and Jadeja should hang their heads in shame for the day of sheer madness yesterday.

This stat may not improve your mood but it's the first time India have ever lost a home Test after gaining a 100 run lead in the 1st innings.

Anyone who can roll their arm over gets wickets in India. That's why Ashwin and jadeja stats are so good. Between them they only have 1 5fer in SENA while in India they get 1 or 2 a game. The biggest joke.

These 2 HTB should never be ranked as high as they are.

Under these 2, no low is low enough.

Dravid especially is so shameless and his entire facade of being a gentleman has well and truly come off.

Cocky paindu batting by the Indian tailendars. Fully deserve the defeat.

Jauswal is new.
Rohit has passed his era.
Gill is very low on confidence.

I can't see how India would have won here to be honest.

We batted with one batsman Rahul (of all) and then others chipped in.

Gill and Siraj should be replaced. Gill in particular looked horrible against spin.

Siraj has his uses elsewhere but another spin allrounder would be better.

ENGLAND BEAT INDIA BY 28 RUNS

'HARTLEY, HARTLEY, HARTLEY' IS THE SONG.

Siraj came down the ground looking to smash Hartley but misses and Foakes whips off the bails, he gets the stump

England go one up in the series as India are 202 all out. Hartley finishes with a SEVEN-FOR.

Who said Bazball doesn't work in India?! Huge smiles on Ben Stokes' face. Rohit Sharma looks disappointed.

Then why are these Rohits and Gills playing?

Also, don't insult test batting by calling Rahul a batsman. He is averaging in mid 30s despite playing for 50-odd tests. This is an international class batsman's stats.

Even in 2020/21 , England thrashed India in the 1st Test .

Root and Silverwood were smashed to a pulp for the rest of the series and, in fact, it was the beginning of a horrendous 1W 11 L record for Root and co.

Remains to be seen now if this Indian side can take down a much tougher English side under Stokes.
