What's new

England defeat Pakistan by 54 runs in final ODI, win series 4-0

Spot on, he doesn’t even able to play his own team. Not playing proper spinners in test is just one example

He is a darpok and phattu when it comes to standing up against seniors. He even played Azam Khan over Saud Shakeel for Quetta because of his phattuism and i know that Sarfraz rates Saud highly.

Why are people blaming Babar today? Last match i understand why he got so much criticism(deserved), but fo you expect him to play 80(40)* after 3 wickets down? Pathetic

So has Hasan Ali also bullied Sarfraz to bat him above him in the batting order as well? :))

I will take harris any day over hafeez....he is a class player....i Don't know why Pakistan management can't see it....he is also a safe player...look into records and see what is catching percentage of Hafeez...

I have already accepted that Imam should be in XI, and FZ moves to 3. How vital not sure though.

Today's match is a prime example as well as 3rd ODI.

No way they would have reached 350 let alone 250 if it wasn't for Imam.

He plays a vital role up at the top and is very much crucial for Pakistan's success

Sarfraz apologist. They will do banghra when he reaches 50 regardless of result. They won't be calling him selfish like they would be calling other players in the same situation.

That was in the best interest of team at that match situation as Hasan is a far better hitter. Sometimes you guys just hate him for everything. People have their good and bad sides.

Haris at 4, Sarfraz at 5, Hafeez at 6.

Yes I think its the best lineup we can put forward. Asif has been good at acceleration though but its looking tough to accommodate him.

Usually it's the other way around; batsmen increase their strike rate. We on the other hand like to be different and make life difficult

Its because of end of Power Play. Do you really understand the game?

If Sarfraz turns up today, the team will grow in confidence. When the captain performs, everyone performs.

Babar can't hit 4s and 6s at will but he should at least improve his strike rotation.

Dont think Asif is missing out. He is the only striker at the end.

This may have been the perfect time to send Asif but I am curious to see how Sarfraz handles this situation.

Asif’s quick 30-40 will be game changing, some how need to include him. Imad can sit and hafeez to play Imad’s bowling role with 2-3 overs from Malik

Utmost, PAK needs Babar to bat as opener with Imam, may be even Hari at 3 & Fakhar at 4 - rest spots depends on who is Captain & who is CS ......

Sarfaraz if he scores a fifty posters will be like bring him up the order he’s our best bat lmao the same ones that want him out

And please if Hafeez needs to be in XI he should stop playing at no. 4. He should come at no. 6. Everyone saw how good he is when he comes inside powerplay against new ball. Lol

Dont think Asif is missing out. He is the only striker at the end.

He can play over Imad if Hafeez, Haris and Fakhar can bowl 10 between then or instead of Hafeez. Dont see any other way he can fit in.

Inconsequential half-centuries coming up. Can't really blame them, the match was bolted by the death bowling and the top three.

More than you because as the batsman stays at the crease he begins to get settled and starts to get comfortable. That is one of the reasons why most batsmen start out slow and then as their innings carry on their strike rate improves.

There's only 4 fielders outside the circle so there's no excuse, you clearly did not know that.

If anyone needs to understand the game It's you since this isn't a T20.

Only chance of Pakistan winning it from here is a rapid fire 80+ from Asif - now that is not very likely.

At best we will reach 300 mark.

No the point I'm trying to make is Sarfraz has batted at 8 a fair bit (if not most of the time) of late, not because he is submissive to seniors but merely due to his awareness of his mediocrity.

If he cared about the interest of the team, he would be working hard on his game and on his fitness. From the 2015 WC till just prior to the CT he had the second lowest dot ball % because he was a lot more driven back then. Ever since he's won CT, the success has got to his head and all that work ethic is virtually non-existent now.

His keeping this game has been atrocious, his captaincy has been poor and the less said with the bat, the better.

and the umpire....

however, this is a good partnership, we are unlikely to given our lack of power hitters, but atleast this is a fight

England has everything. But their captaincy is seriously poor. 16 overs gone still no spinner? This is so one-dimensional captaincy.

Our WC XI options imo

A) 5 Bowlers Option
1. Imam
2. Fakhar
3. Babar
4. Haris
5. Sarfraz
6. Asif
7. Imad
8. Shadab
9. Hasan
10. Amir
11. Shaheen / Husnain

B) 4 Bowlers Option
1. Imam
2. Fakhar
3. Babar
4. Haris
5. Sarfraz
6. Hafeez
7. Asif
8. Shadab
9. Amir
10. Hasan
11. Shaheen / Husnain

How come they scored nearly 350 two days ago? Also against Australia in the last few ODI's Pak batted well.

I think it's more to do with Headingley and Eng pacers making better use of the wicket.

Valid point raised. However, Pak is also going much below the RR so I think that is why he is continuing with the pacers.

Fakhar will continue to be a bunny against any bowler/team with the new ball who have done their homework against him. You target his weak zones and he will fail 9/10 times. Demoting him to number 4 may not be a bad option, but it is never going to happen.

Yep. I remember the "Sarfraz Dhoka Nahi Dega" bit from 2015.

Now he's more driven by the type of Biryani him and his wife should make.

Clearly you havent seen Babar play. You are trying to fit a generic formula on him.

umpire reiffel has been poor in this series.

This would have been a good game, no one else can play a long innings in pak.

Mamoon.. Any comments on umpiring?

Sometimes you benefit from umpiring and sometimes you get the short end of the stick. In the long run, it pretty much evens out, which is why I don't complain about rough decisions.

how can Sarfraz has 100+ strike rate with only 1 four while Babar has under 100 strike rate with 7 fours? Babar playing lot of dot balls?

Sarfraz apologist. They will do banghra when he reaches 50 regardless of result. They won't be calling him selfish like they would be calling other players in the same situation.

Because they don't care about the team success. If there was a secret ballot where they could somehow choose between prosperity of Pakistan cricket and Sarfraz, they would always choose the latter.

This rebuild has been good but this run a ball stuff can only go on for so long before the game gets out of hand.

This shows the difference between the rotation of strike between Sarfraz and Babar, Sarfraz is 34 from 28 with two fours and Babar is 47 from 55 with seven fours

Why is this innings of Sarfraz reminding me of 90* against England in 2016?

If somehow Sarfraz manages to score a 100. It will come at around 120 SR. And that will really help Pakistan

PAK is around 40 behind in DWL - it's possible to recover that margin over 30 overs duration, provided that this partnership can take to score to 250 ish total by 38 overs.

Because Fakhar didn't fail, Fakhar and Imam are perfect for each other and complement each other well..

He did play 2 overs worth of balls before he got injured, taking whatever shine one of the balls must have had.

Also Imam usually takes first strike over Fakhar since Fakhar is a bit nervous first up.

Abid Ali is old and has no place in the side.
