Really poor innings from Rohit.

Defence is not his game because he doesn’t have the technique nor the temperament for it.

He should have attacked more to put England on the backfoot because there was only some movement, the ball wasn’t swinging miles.

India are in deep trouble, probably out of the match.

Don't know what he was trying to achieve...
Innings wasn't going anywhere

Overton is quicker than he looks, plus he gets movement and decent bounce.

By no means he’s a trundler, though he ambles in like one.

Looks can be deceiving, as they say.

He has actually worked on his bowling and is a yard quicker than when he debuted for Eng where he was bowling in mid/high 120s. Also to be honest when you are as tall as Overton you are always going to be a handful from that good length even if you are around that 130 kph mark.

India 67/9.

This match is done and dusted.

You can’t recover from this position in Test cricket.

This has been a terrible performance. Really unexpected even with a few weak links in middle order

Absolutely amazing performance by England to skittle out India so quick.

Oh my.. what's just happened here. I tuned in after 30 mins and India batting has collapsed...

No team has given us so many high and low points together like this one.

Def seems to have worked on his bowling, plus he’s a very handy bat.

Hat trick ball….. not out. Surat survives.

Oh hang on….

4 wickets in the last 6 balls. Collapse of epic proportions.

Eng has bowled really well but, to be honest India has batted poorly as well. Intent to disrupt any of the bowlers went missing after early fall of Rahul and when it was tried the execution on this surface was ordinary. Rohit had the ability but, with the falling wickets he turned on the Pujara mode which didnt help.

I just went to cook up some pasta for dinner and India are already 67/9.

The pasta I've cooked has more of a spine than our entire batting line up.

56/3 to 67/9. Not acceptable at all from the second best team in the world. 6 wickets for 11 runs

Innings defeat loading. Same script every England tour. One match draw, win 1 match then fold like deck of cards in next test matches. 2014, 2018 now 2021.

England did recover from 67 AO at Headingley, 2019.

Let's see if Kohli and his team can pull off something similar

Kohli will still find a way to justify this horror
show through his verbal mumbo jumbo.

Unless and until we completely overhaul our batting lineup, days like today will be quite common.

We have been carrying so many passengers for years now.

India are a very good Test team.

But they are not a great Test team and performances like these are not acceptable because it shows your shortcomings when conditions don’t favour you.

Pakistan got to 180 at the same ground a few years ago batting first in very similar tough conditions because the tail started to play their shots.

Don’t know what the Indian team management was thinking but the strategy of survival was a very wrong one.

But when captain himself is so dire for years now, how will he drop other non performing players?

True but that happens once in 20 years.

That ain’t happening again, not at this venue cause when you get skittled out cheaply below 100 batting first you lose the match.

Ishant and Siraj have already scored more than some of the middle order batsmen

Ishant has much more heart than Rishabh Afridi.

Already told ya guys. This emotional demolishing talks were just a waste. We have bigger issues in the team which is showing up though every one was aware. So it doesn't come as surprise.

Once both opener fails, India has no batting left.

How long are we going to plod along with Pujara and Rahane with their occasional career saving 55s?

Kohli doesn't have guts to drop them because he is such a big failure himself.

2 day test match coming up.

i remember eng vs WI where 3 all inns were part of the 2nd days play and eng won by an inns.

This is going to be 1-1.

Where is the next test?

Last test win masked the fact that our batting is most dire in world cricket.

Indian team still has to believe. If they can restrict Eng to around 150 (They have decent bowling attack) they can still comeback in the game. Yes really difficult but, not impossible.

As well as England bowled this has to be one of the most poorest innings I've seen in a while.

Our legendary team perceived by many to be at par with Australia of 00s have folded for 78, after having folded for 36 earlier in the year as well. 🤦*♂️

Indian fans can at least blame the toss and early conditions for such a poor score ;)

Either we bowl them out for 120, or stretch the game until they make 600. There should be no middle ground here.

If the latter, we can hope to get a draw. But only if we learn to bat by the 2nd dig.

When I faced him in a club game he felt 90mph to me and his brother who seemed even quicker.
