Big cheer from the crowd as panesar plays a defensive shot lol, in fact everytime the ball hits his bat he gets a big cheer! Monty negotiated that over pretty well actually...but then takes the single off the last ball to keep the strike against hauritz for the next over...was the the right move? 9 overs to go
 
England trail by 3 runs. need to survive 6-7 more overs unless they get 20 runs in next 5
 
Lots of turn for hauritz...but monty survives fairly easily 236-9, 8 more to go here.
 
Anderson throws his bat at one wayy outside the offstump, no need for that! England need to get ahead here though...it would make a massive difference to them, and its through!! they get a boundary! jammed through to 3rd man and australia will have to bat again now!

244-9 an invaluable over for england that one, they need to bat out a few more overs though (7 overs left) and score a few more while theyre at it. Exciting stuff this

few minutes ago commentators said 35 minutes left (6:50 pm) but they keep showing overs left in the match which is now 7.2. then one commentator said that is minimum overs left.

2 overs will get taken off as Australia has to bat again plus the incomplete over is taken off
 
monty gets a single off the first ball, anderson back on strike...a few close calls for him against hauritz but gets through quite nicely in the end. 245-9 lead by 6
 
if you are Ponting you have to give M.Clarke one over.

HE did it for them last time against India
 
there is the time factor too though...still just under half an hour left in the days play. Siddle has a manic appeal but the ball was drifitng down the leg side.
 
Monty has done well here so far, a couple of comfortable leaves from him against siddle. Followed by comfortably playing the short ball. 5 overs to go...possibly!
 
Hauritz coming over the wicket now to anderson, he gets a single another vital run added...monty then plays the last 3 balls off the over very solidly, im impressed with him so far, minimum of 4 overs left.

One English batsman need to take a hit to body and call physio and waste 5 min. basically 12 min left in match - plus 10 minute for change over which doesn't matter
 
North hasnt looked good so far, both batsman fancying themselves against him and it has to be said both are looking very comfortable and settled out there at the moment. Lead is now 12 and a minimum of 3 overs to go, england are heading very quickly towards safety.
 
england send shafayat out again.....and then the physio decides to saunter out aswell haha...ponting is disgusted.
 
commentators say that if england bat for another 5 minutes australia wont have time to come out to bat again.

12 run lead. 17 minute left in game which includes change over time between innings which is 10 minutes
 
These two tailenders have done really well...seems they have saved england...as another over comes to an end. The crowd roaring big time...test cricket dead? doesnt seem like it!

north bowling well outside the off and panesar can leave these balls with his eyes closed....poor bowling poor captaincy
