Dont get why Jadeja bats like a hack if he has 3 triple tons in FC he should have a proper technique
 
Watched Bhuvi bat in nets at Derby during the tour match. He has good technique plus he has shown that he has good mindset as well. Especially for a bowler. I really like this guy. I think he would probably score a few fifties and useful ones in his career for India.

Suprisingly, he does have the technique i think its his mindset, he either is asked to come in and hit out especially since he comes down at 7 or 8, or he just plays that way.
 
I have a feeling, Bhuvi, Shami and Jadeja will be Key for India here, bowling point of things. If Bhuvi strikes early, and shami gets reverse, then it will be brilliant. Jaddu can pick a few wickets as well.

In ODIS i understand batting that way but in Tests even at No 7 you should bat with a proper technique

The worst part is, his bowling on this pitch will be absolutely useless. Ashwin should have played on this.

Yes but to be fair, he looked very confident when he was batting.

Far better than Jadeja's batting even though he didn't score.

Should have kept that ball down.
 
This is a batting lesson for Binny and Jadeja.. this is how you need to play a test match
 
If these two can drag the score past 380-400, then it would be great. Overwork the english bowlers, who are gonna have a long series ahead, plus psycologically india would have the mental edge.
 
Why is the run rate so low? I bet the Aussies would have gone at 4 an hour. Thank god!

Lets see how england go about before sending out verdicts.

I dont think its the easiest pitch to bat on.

One wicket has triggered 2-4 wickets multiple times.
 
England have come back well , in the morning 450 was looking like a minimum
 
These 2 should get the score close to 400 and take sup some more time. At least we will be ensuring the match will be a draw.

The bowling attack that India has is not going to get England out for less than 300. England will easily score 500 on this unless Jaddu or Shami bowls some magical spells.
 
I think Isshy should come at 11, he can block, but doesnt score much.

Bhuvi and shami look more convincing (and atleast score a few runs)

Ideally I would want Ishant to come in at No.12 with a drink in his hand.
 
Ashton Agar got 99 on this ground last year if I recall, batting at number 11. Can these guys do it?

Haha i would too, i'd prefer if he wasn't in the squad tbh, but the thing is, what are the chances of that happening? So yea, if he is in the First XI, then he should bat at 11. Lets put it that way :)
 
The way the English commies go on about this pitch its like India are 600-9 not 375

99 is a bit of a stretch but if these guys can push the score above 400+ it would be brilliant, and put india in a good position mentally.
 
Shami and BK have pretty good techniques for no 10 and 11. Way better than ATG Ishant
 
England struggling to remove the tail recently...

Just like India have in the recent past. Hopefully this series India can turn that around.
 
BK has 11 first-class fifties and 1 Century. Top score of 38 in Test. Not bad for your no 10.

I believe he works quiet hard at nets, when i saw him in nets recently (at Derby) he batted for around 40 minutes plus had a solid technique.

Obv, not a top 6 batsman, but defo good for a bowler, who can bat a bit when you team might need it

Moe not having the best of the matches. But i still think he should be given a longer spell, rather than 2 over spells.

You are being too kind.

Don't think so (reg Top 6) but yeah he is a good bat.

He is best utilized when there is a crazy batsman at the other end going on a rampage. Like Dhoni did against Aussies 1st Test. Bhuvi gave him awesome support which enabled him to get to 200.

Don't put too much thought into that, I think they will perform, everyone has a bad day, not like pujara, kohli are failing consistently. One bad innings doesnt change anything.

I think Dhawan might need to start working a bit more harder, he has been failing quiet a bit recently. Even in the tour games.
 
Ali should never have been playing

A part time bowler will get smashed by India but after his century they couldn't drop him

A low score here though batting and he'll be dropped for sure

Yea, but i think he hasn't done much other than that... even matches before that he struggled to score. Plus with Gambhir starting to do well, he will be under the pump.

Okay i did go a bit overboard but after YK and Misbah retire he would probably get in
 
50-odd runs added for the last wicket. Annoying for Cook and the bowlers.
 
BK > Junaid with the bat. If Misbah had BK with him, Pakistan would have beaten Zimbabwe in that test match.
 
Nice partnership.This tells you how much the rest of the lower order screwed up in getting a big total.
