Cook has to deliver now Shami and BK should be boosted by that batting performance

Don't be surprised if Dhoni starts with Jadeja

I think he would, esp cause shami and bhuv had a long bat. Give them a bit of rest.

Maybe, give them 4 odd overs each then bring jaddu on. Comeback fresh tomorrow.

Kumar needs to bowl a good spell or two now.

OUT!

KP probably pissing himself laughing

expect retirement ala Smith style during this series.

Eng lost first wicket with 9 runs on board.

Cook is going through what Gambhir went through circa 2011 - present.

Shami's pace looks down wasnt he hitting nearly 90mph in the Asia Cup. Today hes bowling low 80s

Cook will break records....whether he can reach Sachin's records is something else.

But look at his record 25 test hundreds. He is only 29. He can easily play for another 6-7 years.

And, like most batsmen, he is only an innings against India away from playing himself back into form.

There are 4 more games, and maybe another innings in this match. He will score runs, just a matter of when.

Rubbish pitch. This will certainly kill Test Cricket. Looks to me England are not really bothered about being world number 1 again and more interested in the money. In fact its England who are the most obsessed about money. New FTP India are actually going to hosts minnows like Bangladesh and Zimbabwe but England won't.

Ishant and Shami trundling at 130s, while Bhuvi bowling them at 125kph. Mysterious loss in pace.

Ganguly : Ishant believes keeping his hair long helps his wicket taking abilities

He bowls to the left he bowls to the right....oh Ishaaaaaant Shaaaarma you are tryuly sh***e

so beautiful....oh wait :)))

lol the slippers are like 10 miles away from the batsman...this is Ishant and co bowling, not Johnson and co. These lot haven't even hit 140 once.
and adil94 bhuvi was bowling 135 while shami was 142ish in the Asia cup

I remember Bhuvi bowled a few at 138-139 him and Shami was hitting 144

Shami has always been around 140+ in his career, and Bhuvi too had picked his pace up to 135. Today it looks different.

Game should be a draw unless one side bats horribly. Nothing in pitch for bowlers. I just came back from outside and saw 10/11 from India making half centuries. Did they bat well or Eng was bowling pies?

New ball has worn off and we have got the solitary wicket.
fully expect england to be 200/1 at tea tomorrow

Asian speed guns are inaccurate. Pitches in Asia are slow yet you see speed guns in Asia reading 140+ kph lol

yeah bhuvi was bowling 135 and cranked it to 138 too while Shami was bowling 140ish and cranked it to 144-45 at times however here they're showing their true colours ;-)

Didn't these two were batting for few hours? I think they will be tired and not really going to bowl full speed. Anyway, they are not too pacy to begin with.

The great Clouderson and Broad didn't get wickets here.. What do you expect from Ishant and co

No spin for Jadeja.. hopes of a win are gone. Draw looks the only possible result now

india just needs to keep things tidy to ensure a draw i dunt think they will able to dismiss ENG under 450

I notice from my Facebook feed that some of my friends (and I'm talking here about people who regularly travel the world watching Test cricket) switched off the TV after a few overs yesterday.

I'd heard whispers before the series started that dead pitches were going to be prepared for this series as part of the ECB's desire to suck up to the BCCI. Either those whispers were true or this pitch is just a coincidence.

England v India | 1st Investec Test | July 9-13, 2014 | Nottingham | Day 3

Day 3 starting soon. Engerlund under the pump with Cook's cheap dismissal just before stumps yesterday. Can Aussie Sam and Zimbo Gaz bat them to some type of safety to avoid a humiliating defeat to the worst touring team of recent times? Or will Old Blighty's cricket team join their rugby players and footballers as losers this northern summer?

Need to get a wicket early on.

It's time for Binny to justify his selection.

Need to bowl them out by EOD in order to force a win. What are the chances of having a cloud cover today?

It's very cloudy, but that won't help India it because it's also cold so the ball won't swing much.
